  4. The fact that basecamp is a rule that exists on the server, and punishment requires player evidence makes this point kinda moot. If a player is reporting someone for crouch jump exploiting, then they should have the evidence that they are crouch jumping. It isn't the job of the staff team to bring evidence to a sit that wasn't made by them. I.E, a random player reports another random player for crouch jump spam, do I need to provide the evidence for the one making the report? Now to get onto @huskaii 's argument. You and I have talked about this before, and I explained to you when the rule was first implemented, why we did it. And your argument seemed , and still very much seems self serving in a large way. It comes off as you being angry that you can't abuse a mechanic that specifically ruins the game for everyone else. You are ASSUMING that it was only Jim, aidan, and myself that made the rule a thing, when it was voted on by the entirety of the staff team that attended the meeting in which we talked about it. But dig a little deeper, and you'll see that server wide the crouch jump spam was getting to anti-fun levels of ridiculous. So all across the board, I've seen a lot of support for the rule. I recommend to you that instead of focusing on crouch jumping or ways to get around the rule, you practice combat with your boots on the ground and some good ol' ADSing, I promise it does wonders! And it also doesn't fuck new players out of existence, you know... The ones that don't know how hilariously broken crouch jumping is?

  5. +1 UHHHHH I've known WreckEM for a bit now, I think I actually recommended him to apply a month ago or so. Surprising to see DISS in OOC, however I trust Fetn and I's judgement I don't see one mistake coming to be a major flaw in a staff's performance. I'm glad to see you've got around to it. This is a generally good guy, laid back and has a optimistic personality. He is very fit for the current staff team. Add me to Refs!

It seems people are still confused on the rule and how staff are outlined to enforce it - if someone crouch jumps repeatedly/intentionally (during combat) to use the hitbox glitch, staff MAY issue a warn for FailRP (Jump-Crouch Spam). Because it's FailRP it requires a report. If you create the report then sure, you need the evidence. A simple 20+ second clip is good. Right now staff can't spectate war and bring them to a sit and warn, I wish they could - but we can't. It's not an exemption to the need a sit+report. TL;DR Person A - Spams crouch jump in combat, excluding obvious jumping to get on a box or something. Person B - Reports it, with evidence Staff - Warns them for JumpCrouch Spam

  9. But from what i'm reading, the first is what you're heavily implying. It falls under the thing called proof. For Warns, you're not supposed to warn without proof. Here's an example, You get basecamped, you report the guy, but no screenshot of where you died. Is that your fault or staffs fault for not watching the bases? Same goes for Crouch jumping, If you want to report crouch jumping, You need the proof. Windows 8+ BY DEFAULT has Xbox integration, and that integration essentially has shadowplay built in, recording the last 30 seconds, You EASILY can retrieve that footage. Also, Why not record your gameplay (Other than hardware limitations)? Basecamping wouldn't be a rule then. After Hours Reports when Staff are all AFK would be moot because.... Staff aren't there to enforce the rules, Therefore there shouldn't be any. Ok, Lemme give you another scenario here, Kindergarten. In Kindergarten, you'll have a Teacher (Garnet) and perhaps some Teaching Assistants (Staff) You'll also have the students of course (All Other Players) Teachers make the rules, and help enforce them, TAs help enforce the rules too and create a sense of order. But the Children, if rotten, can cause the TAs to go mad, It takes the effort of the Children to be good and make their class good too by making sure that their friends are being nice too. So yes, Players do have a responsibility to help make sure that things are smooth and help better the community, Although their role is smaller. Why would we have the report system then?

  10. I've kind of already said my piece many times, I'm just providing the video - the yellow/orange is for hitreg, and the blue is for individual hitboxes. If the blue boxes go out of the yellow shots will not/shouldn't register - this is gmod vanilla so it's a base issue.   11. -1 How hard is it for you not to break your hitbox? There's already enough to deal with broken hitbox wise (PDSS having no head hitbox and Army Models being Arms when crouching) We do not need the fact that people spamming the crouch button back on our smorgasbord of hitbox related problems.

  12. This has been being clarified as much as possible by lots of the staff team. It is not the simple rule of "No Crouch Jumping During War." It is a rule that disallows the intention breaking of ones hitbox through exploiting a feature such as crouch jump. The staff team understands that Crouch jumping is a vital part of being able to move around the map and get into certain places / spots that would not be possible without however its use during combat to break someones hitbox put someone at a very large disadvantage. This was first introduced to counter act people with scripts that would bind crouch + jump to one key but has since evolved as a rule to encase the idea of someone breaking their hitbox since a very large portion of the community still tried their best to loophole the rule following its original creation. The simple process of someone being able to crouch and jump intentionally in a combat situation to break or basically cut ones hitbox in half if not completely make it impossible to hit should not be a thing that the staff team just ignores so a rule was made. @Alex Conway has a perfect video to show why this rule was made by showing hitboxes and what it does and I am sure that if he replies he will make sure to elaborate on what it actually does to your hitbox further than my simple explanation. If this rule were to be removed, every gunfight would turn into "who has the better crouch jump bind?" or "who can spam crouch faster?" It is not the type of gunplay that makes it fair towards not only newer players but also improves the gunplay seeing how if you shoot someone with a shot that should connect you do not have to worry about their hitbox being completely bugged. This was a big issue seen on the RU : Ghillie Model back on Delta. All of us would be angered by it because at times its hitbox was actually impossible to hit. This is the same situation, only it is possible on any model, at any time, anywhere, and with the simple click of 2 buttons. This was a rule brought up during a STAFF MEETING. Where Kendal, Jim, and Aidan led the topic yes, but the entire staff team that was present threw in their own ideas on the topic, asked for clarification, until we ALL came to an agreement on the rule being created. Aidan even asked for +1s / -1s in the staff chat room when the rule was being VOTED ON. All staff meetings are public in the administration tab, yea ik its not your job to listen to all of the staff meetings, hence Jim's clarification post but your claim is completely false. " I also beleive that it would have been nice if the rule were actually ran by the rest of the community before it were implemented in the first place." as @PrisonNightmare was saying, look at any post about the Crouch Jump spam rule. You will see maybe 2 or 3 -1s with the rest pushing for the creation of the rule. I’m not gonna double post so I will put this here. @Mitsuri if you remember the times on Delta or before (prior to re-implementation of anti-bhop) BHop was against the rules. This was enforced through strictly video evidence provided by players in engagements with a player bhopping. This is the exact same case, it would be insanely unreasonable for staff to just trust a report or get rid of the rule entirely. However, unlike BHop which we were able to implement an anti-bhop to stop players from doing it. The only normal way to stop crouch jump spam through code that we have thought of at this time, is to bring back stamina... and stamina ruined the community more than crouch jumping ever did or has. Another thing to add. This post basically should have been put into the administration tab or added on to Jim's Rule Clarification post. Even though this was posted in the suggestions tab by @Soappppp it perfectly describes what the staff team was trying to get across after establishing this rule. -1 The Rule should stay in place and is still a very relevant issue on the server.

  13. Description : Change the current vehicle rules and Vehicles in general Reasoning : Currently the rules only allow for a maximum of 6 for the US and 5 for RU. The rule currently is that only one vehicle per faction can be spawned in. That makes since but then the vehicles have an absurd respawn time of 30 minutes. I know garnet does not want to have vehicles like they were before (Even though it would give people a way to spend their in game money and possibly pay real currency in the donation store). With the respawn time for vehicles being 30 minutes it sucks when a sniper can shoot my tire and instant kill the driver. Currently humvee that the US has flips constantly and can barely go up the hills. The ATVs, trucks, and vans we had on the original map felt good and traveled around the map good. The hitbox and damage system of the cars is absorb as well. When I'm transporting troops on my car and have like 6 people alt e’d on my hood but when he shoots the back tire I (the driver) is instantly killed). With the implementation of these changes it will bring back the fun times we had with vehicles and actually make them useful. Ways to Fix : Fix the hitbox issue, Change the respawn time to 7-10 minutes and Change to old vehicles. Additional Information : N/A

  14. Description: I am suggesting that we get rid of the crouch jump rule during war. This rule was made by the staff team without much clarification on the rule. It has been more than a month now, and people still don't know how the rule works a lot of the time. For those that aren't aware, the rule is that you cant crouch and jump while in war. Reasoning: This rule should be removed because it is causing a lot more fighting and negativity, than actually serving as a valid argument anymore. The fact that you are outlawing someone pressing a button on their keyboard has lots of people upset. I also beleive that it would have been nice if the rule were actually ran by the rest of the community before it were implemented in the first place. It has never been a huge issue until now, and frankly i dont see why we dont just go back to how it was before this rule. Also according to some other staff, it wasnt even run by most of the others. Mainly was between kendall/jim

  15. Garnet specifically called out using vehicles for a raids is a no go. However PT is covered, but as vehicles are new and are still being abused, I doubt the Kidnaps/Raids aspect will get added. Just food for thought.

  16. -1. You bring up a good reason for creating this suggestion but lack a proper solution. You're essentially saying: "we don't like how vehicles work, change them" without explaining what you want changed and how you/the community wants it to change. Reminder that the limitations with vehicles are based on both server and client performance - vehicles can cause major drops in your FPS depending on how many are able to be rendered, so limiting how many vehicles are on the map at a single time and moving is a must. I don't know what the vehicles were like all the way back then. 10 minutes would work for the respawn time. There isn't a way to fix the hitboxes with vehicles as far as I can tell since it likely just checks if the vehicle took damage and applies it to the driver. But I do, obviously, agree that vehicles need a rework.

Draco I think you might misunderstand whitebolt I think he means to get rid of scramble points and instead reward you with a small amount of credits that you would be able to use no matter what, for example most people on the server don’t really trade in game money for Donation classes I think it would be a good idea because then if you don’t have enough to buy a class from someone instead you could purchase the AEK for 2 hours which personally I would find more fun than scramble points or add some other use for them

  20. I emplore you to join staff to show us how to fix our act though. I personally think we do a pretty good job, You as non-staff obviously are unable to see staff chat, but whenever there's something one of us isn't sure about, we're always helping each other, and discussing things that aren't common occurances and how to deal with them. This Crouch jump spam, has been said what staff are to do with it, but the biggest problem again, is nobody reports it, And if someone does report it, they're likely staff, and what's one of the things staff aren't supposed to do? Take their own sits. So please, Walk a mile in our shoes, See how often you get the chance to see Crouch spamming, and even if you are watching over, see how many people you catch openly that you can punish, again, With proof. I'll even refer you to be staff if you're up to the challenge.

  21. Going to keep my response brief here, as I'm not MRP staff. I understand some of the points in this thread, but I disagree with the suggestion to remove this as a rule. I want to quote Mitsuri here, as this part gets me. The staff team did explain what was not allowed, and even had video evidence to go along with it. It should be a rule that needs to be enforced, as it quite litteraly breaks the game. You also mention that staff should 24/7 monitor war, but that is unreasonable. Here is my logic behind this rule, and how players and staff alike should go about reporting it: If you are in war, and someone is crouch jumping to break their hitbox, you record it. If you can't record, or complain about having to record your evidence, then that is your fault. You will just have to deal with that player breaking their model to win firefights. On the other hand, you could simply record 30 minutes of gameplay, clip whatever part necissary, and delete the rest of the footage as needed. This isn't that big of an inconvenience, as by doing this you make not only your play session, but the servers play session better.

  24. RU as a whole is a really big machine. It's well oiled and is run by SEVERAL great leaders and I would say is in a really good situation. 2GA runs smoothly (as smooth as a base faction can get) and the Officers with the Marshal have done countless successful changes improving the faction. We have RFRs constantly sprinting to train recruits for recommendations as well as to make RU have less of a number disadvantage. RU is not perfect don't get me wrong we could heavily use more active factions/officers. But for our numbers and our mentality we work great. I haven't seen 2GA like this ever since Ethan Greshnev Merged SSO with 2GA command. Neutral Marines and Army on the other hand couldn't be more far apart. It's a constant struggle against each other and also INSIDE each faction. Merging won't fix all the issues but it will be a great foundation to begin reparations and repairs. BUT there is a good chance Marines could be turned around. Jackal isn't the best leader by far but the man can do magic sometimes. Give Jackal a few and lets see what happens. If it goes to shit then we can merge but if Jackal can turn this shit around let him do it.

  26. Sorry for any grammatical mistakes, I’m writing this on my phone I do not mean any disrespect to Garnet when is say this but this entire quiz system has had me angry since it was introduced. There is not enough information for recruits before they are given their white lists. The questions are either incorrect or their is not enough questions. Recruits are missing vital information such as PTS, how to request PTL, what “RU to DB” means, what are faces, and imo the most important thing they are missing is a connection to another player on the server(the recruiter). I’m gonna be honest, when I first joined the server I joined to MassRDM, and I am sure that is the same for a lot of other people. If I had gone through a quiz system like this, I probably would have massed, but instead I didn’t and stayed because I found a community. Without recruiters or being properly trained, recruits have no idea what they are doing, they need someone to ask questions too and someone who can show them the basics. Here is an example which has already been used before in another thread: Let’s say 11B PVT private is standing in line and breaks PTS but has no clue what PTS is, then 11B WO Mr.RP gets mad at them for breaking PTS. If I was the private I would probably pull out my automatic weapon and mass on the spot from anger. I am sure we have all been yelled at before for something that we didn’t know we couldn’t do and I want you guys to think about how mad you were when that happened. These guys play games to have fun, not to get yelled at from a kid. Another argument can be brought up that these recruits can be trained after they take the quiz. This is possible but it is not a convenient option. For this to happen, recruiters would need to watch chat to see when someone passes the quiz, then they would need to watch the notifications in the bottom right of the screen to see which base faction they join(since they get while listed for all 3 base factions) and then finally after that they would need to somehow go find this random private who can be anywhere on the map since they do not even know what PTL is after they take the quiz. I hope you followed that. I am not saying that they old way was perfect, recruiters are people too and they need to go through proper training also. Recruiting was the first thing I worked on when I was given leadership of 2GA. I had implemented a system which motivated the recruiters to train. The main problem is that recruiters have no motivation and are not inspired to train recruits. I am not trying to brag here but before I had implemented this system within 2GA, we had been seeing highs of only 7 enlisted. After I had implemented the system we would have a high of 25 enlisted most days. One day we even had 38/88 players online in 2GA and these were during the dead months of September and October. This was one of my biggest accomplishments in 2GA and is why this quiz system has really touched home with me and why I have such strong opinions on it. I was informed about the system being implemented one day before it was added in. I knew that if not done properly then it would end to a lot of anger and a lot of confusion, and that is exactly what it has come too. To sum it up, recruits lack basic knowledge on PTS, PTL, Faces, DB, Objective points and the war system which leads to officers getting angry which then leads to the private’s getting angry and either massing or quitting the server. The recruits lack a connection to anyone on the server since they are basically getting trained by code and then have no reason not to mass. And recruiters need motivation to train otherwise they only do it when they are told. Their is probably lots of grammatical errors within this post because I am using my phone, if anyone needs clarification on anything I said, please respond and I will try to clear things up.

I mean there's no server that I know of that has good staff because it's a free job, mostly taken by kids and on the most aids multiplayer game out there but still that last sentence was just borderline delusional, you need a TON of work before you have a ''strong moderation team'' also you guys celebrating upgrading ur unpaid to jobs to harder unpaid jobs is fucking hilarious, it's like watching an obese kid celebrate gaining 5 pounds.
