Thank you to every battalion lead and officer who sat with me in Discord to collaborate on this update Battalions that did not receive an update were either inactive or did not have a battalion commander who had any ideas in mind for anything that needs to be changed. In any event, you are free to DM me on Discord of Steam and I will follow up with an update for your battalions! Inventory System Corrected an error that was affecting a small number of users, allowing them to once again utilize their inventories Added a 60 second delay on player initialization on the server to prevent a players' inventory opening too soon. This should solve ALL the problems we have currently got with inventories Battalion Overhaul/Facelift I have made a ton of undocumented changes, and also FINALLY got around to the inclusion of some sprinkled VIP roles, as we have not had any clone VIP roles since the start of the server a year ago. Pointshop Exchange NPC As an alternative to purchasing Pointshop points or farming hours on the server to prestige, myself and @Proggy came to a nice compromise, Moving forward, players may exchange their RP cash for Pointshop points, at an exchange rate of $1500:1, or in other words, $1,500,000 for 1000 Standard Points. I even doubled down on the 'close' buttons so nobody can claim they accidentally made a purchase Upon completing the trade, you will receive a confirmation of your new balances Free VIP Trials! A new NPC class has been added onto the server, Non-VIP users may utilize this NPC to exchange RP cash for a week of VIP Each time this NPC is utilized by a player, the price of VIP will climb up by a set percentage. The first time purchase is a mere $5m Store Portal INFLATION HOUSING MARKET ADJUSTMENT I guess you could say the upper staff team got together and made a little inflation adjustment to our store.   6. The way I look at it is even if he does end up leaving, it's not like there's any harm done. Yes, he's left in the past at critical times where he was needed, but at the end of the day. atleast for the community it's a net positive, having had somebody around who cared about the community and encouraged others onto the server.   9. It was indeed a host issue, we had outdated hardware that our host refused to upgrade for 3 years, and that became accompanied by network instabilities. A big portion of hitreg involves how optimized a server is, but a large portion is also dependent on server hardware and networking to result in lower ping. take a look at mrp today and tell me how you feel
  10. We have the most up-to-date vanilla keypads. The addon you sent is not keypads, it is a re-write of the code, which we actually use on our StarwarsRP server. Unfortunately I do not see a good enough reason to add it onto DarkRP, and if you have any 1 specific feature that you enjoy, please let me know and I will add it!

The server's tickrate has been raised from 30 to 40! This insane change will result in unmatched hit detection to other servers and movement, let alone will over 60-80 players online. I do not know if this change will be absolutely stable seeing as this change is downright stupid, but we should at the very least be able to handle 33 why not start big and see if we can handle it? NOTES: Passive Events have been temporarily removed from the server due to the fact that their author must whitelist our new server's IPs!
  12. I read 1 sentence into @Corbzz's post, facepalmed, and stopped reading. Our server has hit 128/128 for years before alting was even an idea in people's head, and anybody who claims that "alters are the only reason we hit these pops" is a moron. I won't deny that alting is a meta that is helpful to the server in some ways, because at the end of the day we are competing with servers who do not have any alting culture, and as such resort to LITERALLY botting their servers. I personally see no issue with alters using their alts in order to farm printers for themselves, but the moment that money gets into circulation, it becomes an issue. I really don't see myself disallowing alters in the near future, but I do see myself and @Proggy cracking down on alters who are trying to sell DarkRP cash like it's RuneScape gold. WITH THAT BEING SAID, to address some of the noted concerns in this thread, IE: lower prop limits, or a full server, here is how we will address both: A) Prop limits being negatively affected by a fuller server isn't necessarily a bad thing, however, I can understand people wanting quite a bit more props. Roughly 2 months ago, we have increased our overall prop limit by anywhere from 25 to 5 depending on the time of the day, this was done to the fact I MASSIVELY boosted server performance with optimzations. As of today, we switched to a much more powerful machine, that can easily handle more server tasks. Our hardware is literally OVERKILL. B) When it comes to our server being full, I have firstly raised the limit back up to 128 from 118. Secondly, I may create a system where if a player has been online for over 24 hours and does not have any printers spawned in (IE: if somebody was raided while alting) they will be kicked for the reason "Prolonged AFK session with a full server" in the event that there is a queue. HALFLY ACCEPTED?

  15. Our host was never located in the midwest, the new building is very close in proximity to the current from my understanding. Not sure if sarcastic or not, but your hitreg on MRP is about as good as GMod can get on a 50+ player server. We literally cannot be competed against in that caliber. rip Hopefully you've seen how much better Rust ran on wipe, 2 days ago.
  16. Helping pop in the early mornings is about the only reason I considered allowing alting, and the fact that all our competitors seem to be doing so to heavily bot their way up the charts. Your comment of "You brought that upon yourself" is incredibly stupid. I allowed people to bring their alts to get printers if they choose to do so, I had never allowed them to use this in order to sell said printed money for real currency. If you want stuff to do with in-game money, maybe be useful and post a suggestion? OH OOPS - you've never went out of your way to try and bring new ideas about, just complaining. You guys are actively destroying this server and ruining the economy for regular players, by reaching unrealistic wallet amounts. While this will still not be actively moderated, because frankly, neither me or @Proggy want to deal with the hassle, just know you're viewed as nothing by a rodent who's hurting the server for their own financial benefit.
  17. I would also suggest wiping people's wallets when they are caught in the act, but everybody already knows that this is how I feel about the issue. There are no positive aspects to people exploiting the economy of this server by hosting a plethora of alts in order to sell the money for real-cash transactions. Proggy seemed to be in disagreement of banning said players, and I will leave it at that.

Dear Members of the Garnet Gaming community, We understand that recently, our gaming servers have experienced some challenges due to host-related issues caused by DDoS attacks and general changes by said host without our consent. This has led to many crashes and unsatisfactory performance, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this situation has caused. On the contrary, we are happy to announce that we have acted proactively upon this situation and decided to switch to a new provider that is dedicated to providing a secure and stable gaming environment for you all. This change will greatly improve the overall quality of our servers and eliminate the issues that we have been facing for these past 3-4 days. Furthermore, we should also see some better server performance as all our machines are being upgraded to more recent hardware that can withhold higher populations. Myself and @Proggy have spent an obscene amount of hours (working until 5:30AM in instances like today) to ensure this change goes smoothly. However, at this time, there is really not much of a need for additional moderation within our server. While this isn't grounds for denying your application, I am just letting you know there will be limited room for growth/promotions in the meantime. This update is aimed at easing the GMing system currently present on the server: Lunas Flight School Addon updated to the latest version! *NEW* HMP Droid Gunship *NEW* One more entity to our LFS arsenal to be used during events, particularly for CIS utilization NOTE: this is a large entity, GMs, please beware of where it is spawned *NEW* NU-Class Attack Shuttle *NEW* A predecessor to the Lambda, to be used by the Republic Navy during events This shuttle features a full interior with 15 seats Gamemasters Tool Gun Re-disabled sound functionality from the tool. Godmode Due to the fact that No-Target tooling by itself wasn't enough to prevent NPCs from accidentally shooting you down as a GM completing your duty, I've added "Godmode" functionality to staff members who are noclipping while on "admin duty" This will prevent AI or players alike from shooting you down while you're trying to host events. Hologram Creator Tool Utilize left click or right click while aiming at a player in order to materialize them onto a hologram, utilize right click in order to turn yourself onto a hologram NPC Control Tool a suite of NPC-related tools which may greatly enhance RP NPC Controller - this tools allows you to select an NPC (Left Click), and then make that give NPC follow a path which you determine (Right Click) NPC Follower - works similarly to NPC Controller, however, the target they follow cannot be a chosen location, but rather another player or yourself NPC Health - this tool simply allows you to override the health of a spawn NPC NPC Proficiency - Allows you to set the aim proficiency for a class of NPCs, IE: all Security and B1 droids. This ranges from poor aim, where they will hardly hit a player, to pin-point perfect accuracy. NPC Spawner - the most thorough tools of the above, this tool will allow you to set a pre-defined spawn point from which NPCs will spawn on intervals, with a given list of weapons, as well as pre-defined intervals. This way you may create a steady flow of NPCs without having to continually spawn in NPCs Over time I will refine and re-create all of the above tools to work seamlessly with our own assets Chatbox Optimization A very thorough optimization patch was pushed through to the Chatbox, including the deletion of old messages, and better caching. This was done so that now that we have boosted client performance somewhat, we can take it away by introducing far larger acceptable string lengths to chatbox messages, allowing GMs to input very long and thorough lines of text in events. Inventory System A sizeable UI rework was made, there will now be 10 items per row of inventory space (previously 8 ) and 4 extra inventory slots have been added making the inventory 25% larger. The size of the inventory itself is now much more compact (73% of the original size) and has been optimized heavily for framerate Before: Existing players please NOTE On players connecting I must run alot of weird networking in order to adjust everybody's inventory sizes to accommodate the new standard, please give changes 24-48 hours to take effect (1/28/2023) before screaming at me that things are broken.
