  1. -1 I like the idea in general but it’s the implementation that I feel is the biggest issue. If it were possible to accurately identify cheaters without falsely flagging innocent players then I’d be all for it, but even the best and most expensive anti-cheat software has flaws, workarounds, etc as seen in so many videos online. I think the experienced staff have done a fantastic job so far of identifying cheaters and the current system works. So unfortunately it’s a -1 from me for now.
  2. +1 This is a fantastic application, one of the best I’ve seen! I especially like that you’ve said you try to help new players and are willing to go the extra mile to help them set up a base and help them get started, showing a genuine care for the community. You’ve always been decent and a good laugh from what I can remember. You have a really good number of hours on the server, and only a verbal warning in terms of previous offences is noteworthy! I will say to be careful not to push yourself for the 5-6 hours a day on top of your full time job, I do this sometimes myself and lag the next day at work haha! But I do like your ambition. I think that overall this is an awesome application and I think that you would be a good part of the staff team and so I wish you the best of luck!
  3. +1 I think I’ve met you a few times in game and you seem pretty decent, I’ve never had any issues with you. You have a good reference with good hours and no bans on record, which shows your maturity and willingness to try and do what’s right by following the rules. While your application (paragraphs) isn’t amongst the strongest I’ve seen, I like the points that you have made about your commitment and willingness to help other players and the community as a whole. It’s also noteworthy that you said you applied back in 2017, so you’ve been around for quite some time. I think you could be a good addition to the staff team and so I wish you the best of luck!
  4. -1 I do really like the idea and it would be awesome to have movie nights (watching a film on Netflix as you say). The reason for the -1 is that obviously someone will need to be signed in and paying for an account in order for it to be usable, which opens up a whole world of potential issues. I like the idea though.
  5. Who would have thought that the Garnet Gaming logo makes a great PvP arena? This is my entry for a 1v1 - 3v3 arena! 50 props exactly. I also took a quick clip of me mowing down some combine for a laugh https://streamable.com/rdebm9
  6. I seriously did a double-take this morning when I woke up and saw the retired blob next to your name on the staff discord! Then a third and fourth.... I refused to believe it You are honestly one of the best staff members that I know. The first time I became staff (in mid 2021) I remember the advice and support you gave me while I was learning and slowly improving myself. Fast forward to when I came back as staff a second time after moving home and changing jobs, and I was absolutely thrilled that you were the one to train me! I appreciate you saying I was one of your best trainees but I had to learn that from somewhere and your continued support to myself and others has helped shaped us into the staff members that we are now. Thank you! I can totally understand why you're burnt out of DarkRP because you always went above and beyond in every aspect of staffing, even while on LOA! Your total commitment to the server was incredible, and showed that you genuinely cared and wanted to continue to make this a better place for everyone. I'm genuinely sad that you have retired, but on the bright side perhaps this will give you the break that you needed and allow you to enjoy your time actually playing on the server? Or allow you time to do things IRL without distraction? Whatever you end up focusing on, I just wish you the absolute best in your journey and I'll always be around to have a laugh or chat
  7. +1 Absolutely makes sense, and hopefully it’s a quick fix to allow CCs to be able to rob the bank.

Men are victims too, I’m not sure what gender has to do with anything? This isn’t fair and neglects any thoughts for men struggling with this, creating a problem in its self. The sound effects are literally just that, sound effects, not someone’s voice. Plus they are random sound effects so it’s not actually possible to directly attack someone with a specific sound anyway. It’s just random audio clips depicting a crazed hobo, not someone worth listening to. Of course targeted attacks (of any kind) are considered harassment and there are already strict rules surrounding that, alongside racism, sexism, homophobia etc. Remember your talking about an old school sound effect which is played at random by a character who is depicted as mad / crazed / not in any sane state of mind. I stand by everything I said earlier.

-1 I do understand what your saying, and if anything like this was said out of character would be totally inappropriate. However this is DarkRP, and as such it's humour is dark. Bare in mind that this server is FAR more tame than others I have played on. We have very strict rules around inappropriate behaviour out of character to ensure people feel safe to play on the server. To suggest that something should be removed because someone feels "triggered" would only serve to set a precedent for other aspects of DarkRP. Remember that drugs also ruin lives, and yet there are 4 separate jobs involving drugs? Gang violence destroys so many young peoples lives and creates a vicious circle for the next generation, yet there are 12 job roles involving gangs. Burglaries and robberies leave people with serious lasting psychological illnesses like PTSD, but there are 15+ raiding classes. So perhaps these should be removed too? These are also very serious problems which have lasting deep effects on people. Many people in the past have protested against games such as GTA, or Postal, etc; and yet they are still around. If it's not your kind of humour then perhaps find something better suited to your tastes?
  10. -1 I'll give a totally unbiased response without taking into account other peoples responses: I have never seen you online or have no memory of you, which depending on how many hours you've been active recently, could actually be a good thing as it means you're keeping out of trouble. If you don't have a lot of recent hours however, that might explain things too. With regards to staffing you said "I know what I am doing" but you were unable to give definitive answers to both the number of bans you've had, and the number of warns you've had, which you should be able to find quite easily. I don't actually expect ex-staff to remember all the commands, and to be honest most active staff use key binds too anyway, but your confidence doesn't match the vagueness of your answers, and the answers can be found with a little effort. Being over-confident is far worse and more dangerous than being under-confident in my experience. Given that you said you have a history of bans for "various reasons", I think it's important for you to show that you recognise what you have done wrong in the past and how you have changed since those offences. People can absolutely change over time, but in order to prove it (to me at least) I'd be looking to see complete honesty, an understanding of wrongdoing, and a continued improvement of behaviour over a decent period of time, with no excuses. When I say 'excuses' I mean for example throwing nerve gas so recklessly as to have "killed a lot of civilians" is pure stupidity in my book and I won't accept 'accidental' as an excuse. Your playtime is interesting. Considering you were staff previously, I'm confused as to why you only have 70 hours? That's about 2.3 hours a day if divided over the one month you have staffed before, showing no recent activity. It also conflicts with your answer to "How much time do you have to contribute to the role?" to which you answered "All the time needed" which doesn't reflect the 2.3 hours a day average? Remembering this includes weekends and holidays etc. As you said you were previously moderator, could you explain a little more about your time staffing on the server, problems you encountered and how you overcame them, as well as why you decided to leave the staff team after only a month? Previously staffing on the server is a massive point that could really boost your application, so don't rush past it! Following on from having staffed previously on the server, I'm a little concerned as to why you have no references? There are staff members that have literally joined this month which I would happily endorse in a future application if they had to suddenly leave, so I don't believe it's about time served as staff. Was there anyone that perhaps you haven't asked, but might be happy to give a +1 on your application? Maybe reach out to them if so? You haven't read the staff rules. As a returning staff member, this is quite frankly embarrassing! My best advice is to try and build up a decent number of recent hours on the server and engage with the rest of the community in a positive way. Then if at a later date you are still keen to join the staff team, you could use this alongside a decent and well-written application (taking everything said into account) and maybe with a couple of decent references?
  11. Did you make that GIF? Looks like he's in the apartments of the Hometown 1999 map
  12. +1 I just realised that it has music too! This is seriously awesome, I love it!
  13. Awesome edit man! Love it! It makes me want to see what MRP is all about, but then again, it also reminds me I'll die in the first few seconds of the round haha
  14. Fantastic update! I’m sure a lot of people will be glad that the police warden can now build in the jail cells, I’m looking forward to seeing the creative designs! Only yesterday someone decorated it to look like an insane asylum which was cool! Out of interest, how does the money / XP from the crack manufacturer compare to the meth manufacturer now? Sounds like this could be a decent bet for grinding. Super happy about the printer timers too! This benefits both the farmers (like me) and the raiders who could potentially grab a bigger reward for successfully raiding someone! Awesome The vending machine prices make a lot of sense, as do the updates to the hitman system too. Fantastic work as always
  15. I think KingMash mostly summed it up for me! I played DarkRP many years ago when GMod looked completely different and every DarkRP server was almost completely vanilla, it was a totally different world to the servers of today. Back then, it was certainly more chaotic but you were still able to meet decent people and set up a gun store together and have a good laugh. So fast-forward to today and after playing many different servers, I guess Garnet has done the best job of striking a balance between classic vanilla DarkRP but with enough addons to keep the player base happy. That aside, the community is fantastic here! There's some truly awesome people here which I look forward to chatting to and having a laugh with when I'm online.
  16. +1 Totally agree, this makes a lot of sense

+1 It would be awesome to have more fonts, plus I think that I’m getting a few errors in console with the current fonts so a general cleanup / update would be good too.
  18. I used to play GMod and DarkRP many years ago when I was still in school (I’m 28 now). I used to love it back then, having a laugh and meeting decent people and setting up gun stores etc. This was back when GMod wasn’t a big game and nothing like it is now. Then towards the end of 2020 I decided to see if DarkRP was still going, and to my surprise it was! Me and my brother tried a few different servers, but the amount of silly addons that they had put me off as it was so different from my memories. Then I found Garnet which was much more vanilla and closer to what I remembered. I met a few others in game who helped me set up a base and remember how to actually play, I think one of them is called Scortch and I bought him a D’Lore for helping me out. My brother didn’t stick around as it wasn’t really his thing, but I fell in love with DarkRP all over again and played on and off. Last year I put a ton of time into actually getting to know people and playing more seriously (rather than opening a casual gun store or working as PD now and then). Now I’m a L.Mod and have some good mates, to the point where I might fly over to the US to say hello at some point
  19. Ahhh Zulas! I really hope things get better for you mate. You and your brother are such a good laugh, it will be a real shame to see you go! Sorry to hear about your Grandfather man. Just keep your chin up and keep working hard at things, it might not be easy but time can be the best healer of all. You're always friendly and got on so well with everyone. If you ever fancy popping on to say hello then be sure to let me know! Or even in discord VC with others for a laugh and a catch up. If not then I just hope things go well for you moving forwards, and remember we're all here if you ever change your mind
  20. +1 This is a really decent application, and I like the reasons you have given to want to become staff on the server. You’ve got a decent number of hours, and a good reference. I know you said you had a ban ages ago but I don’t see anything listed in the ban records, so you’re of good character. Overall I think you could be a great staff member and so I wish you the best of luck
  21. I'll throw a hobo boot at you if I see you staffing! For real though, have a proper break and take some time to relax, you do a lot and it's healthy to have some downtime
  22. I’ve always been intrigued to know how people come up with their usernames. I used to use pretty random names years ago which had little meaning because I genuinely used to get annoyed with myself for taking so long just making an account, so I’d mash my keyboard in frustration with my own indecisiveness haha! I decided some years ago that life is actually really sort and I don’t mind being more personal and true to myself in my username, so I took part of my first and last name, and put them together into something unique but identifiable and easy to remember.
