Popular Post Jake 933
In-game name: AFSOC CDR BelugaAge: 18SteamID (https://steamid.io/): STEAM_0:1:119630213Warns: 1 for RDM on 4/23/20Timezone: BST/GMTPlaytime?: | AFSOC CDR Beluga has played for 2208:14:03.Do you have access to TeamSpeak and a microphone?: YesDo you have the ability to record Garry's Mod videos?: YesReferral(s): Homast, Zachman, Dex, Gythem, Ozzy, Mark Duglas, NaitsirPast experiences as a Game Master: None as a GM specifically however on SWRP I was helping with Conways events and would usually hold key roles. I also helped run every event that was held on the Event Server along with Shrimp and Phantom, I have been doing general RP / mini-event stuff as AFSOC when there is an opportunity to do so.Why should we choose you over other applicants? I believe I would be a good addition to the team because for the last year or so I have been RP driven and have been attempting to implement it where possible. I personally enjoy passive RP aspects of MRP for example, planning operations, leading operations and working with forces within operations. I have been using AFSOC when possible to do things like these, I usually try to do a few a day. I personally think that most people can enjoy RP without it being dry, forced or unnatural. I would like to start off with minor RP which most people can get involved with and if they enjoy that then I could start to add more complicated things into it, giving them the choice of what they can or will do. I think that in an event the more freedom somebody has while also staying within the event itself, the better this is because if there is no tight strict schedule for them to follow there are far fewer opportunities for players to mess up. A good example of RP would be a simple kidnap scenario if done properly, you have the RP of the interrogation and trying to get information as well as the negotiations and hand-over of the hostage. A lot of people nowadays mistake RP for Arma 3 type tactical callout nonsense when in fact, RP is literally anything within reason you are doing while also playing or performing that role. The most common type of RP found today are often the user hosted operations, outside of this there is very little RP going on, I would like to try and change that by adding tasks for enlisted to complete or roles for them to fulfill to get them into passive RP.Have you ever been banned or punished on any server? Aside from general warns for fuck-ups over the years, no.How much time do you have to contribute to the role?: Several hours a day In your own words, what are the responsibilities of a Gamemaster?: I believe that a GM's primary role is to ensure there is always going to be fun gameplay on the server, at the moment that would probably be between wars as there is often little to do. They can do this with a few different types of events; RP events, fun events and planned Operations. The secondary role of a GM would be to moderate RP, to act as guidance and support to ensure it all goes down smoothly as any negative event related things will often lead to players just having a blanket dislike of events for example, player organised Operations were mostly boring and poorly planned which made people dislike them but because they were called events those people came to just dislike events in total which just pushes the focus on war and pvp even more. Describe how you would contribute to RP as a part of the Gamemaster team: I would try to provide most people with a source of passive RP or something related for them to do this would be beneficial because while also giving something for the players to do it would slowly get them to start enjoying RP as a whole which could lead to more people wanting to take part in missions, events and operations. I would try to do semi-regular larger events with the other GM's so that there is no predicting anything (keeping it interesting), one of the problems currently is that it gets very repetative and players get into the cycle of war, afk/tryouts, war, afk/tryouts which gets very boring very fast. It is somewhat like training a gundog, if you go too hard too fast they will dislike it and get bored, if you do too little they will get into the cycle and get bored and lose interest. Explain your single most creative idea for contributing to the RP environment of the server: A Heroes and Generals style of war. In-Game every war is a battle, each battle counts towards a war which would last a certain amount of time (14 days, 30 days etc) Generals and faction leaders could pick a location for a battle to take place for example, start in Mongolia (Siberia) and head West which would take you to Kazakhstan from there you could head south to the middle east area where you could use Delta and Chaharikar, from there you could head West into Russa (Taiga/Taiga Forest). It would work like this; each one of those dots would represent a battle, the faction leaders could set the battle to one of those whoever wins would claim that zone, from there you can progress forward, the actual map would look like a sheet of dotted paper in which the leaders could progress the war in the direction they would like it to go. As you change your claims on the map the location of the battles changes which would change the map to others used in the rotation. Please list and explain 5 unique event ideas of any scale: Event 1: This will take place on gm_Fork; designed for one faction at a time (some inspiration has been taken from a previous Event from the Event Server) The players will start within these castle walls and call AFSOC for transport, AFSOC will land in the parking lot just below the castle. AFSOC will land here and the forces will dismount and assemble in the barn. The faction will have a choice of specialty weapons for some of their men; a sniper, demolitions equipment, medical equipment. The forces will be driven down the trail in red and will stop at the junction marked with an X, and will be forced to engage forces at the *. They will drive down the same marked path and park under the bridge marked by an X. They will head up the hill to the side of where they parked, head inside the tunnel and clear it from there they will head along the bridge to the two warehouses where they will be engaged by a considerable force. They will have to exit the compound and head to the mansion where civs have been supposedly taken hostage. Once they are within the walls of the mansion their commander will be kidnapped and the main force will be ambushed and over run forcing them to surrender. They will be forced to follow the designated route. They will be kept in this room in which they will have to escape without using the main door or weapons. Once they exit the tunnel they will find some old easter bloc weaponry (AK-74, CZ 858, SVT-40 etc) stored on the shelves of the exit along with a stockpile of ammo. They will have to get to the comms tower designated with a large X to radio AFSOC in for fire support and extraction, there is a suggested route of how they can get to the comms tower however it does not need to be followed. The smaller X's mark hostile forces. From there they will be flown back to the airstrip where they will be debriefed and the event will end.Event 2: Payday 2 stealthThe objective of this would be for a small team of people to sneak into an OBJ to retrieve a certain item while that OBJ is being guarded by either NPC's or players acting as guards, they would be allowed to kill 4 or 5 guards depending on the size of the OBJ (in RP this would be because the controller got suspicious of multiple guards not answering their comms) and must get to a certain extraction point, this should be played slowly and carefully to ensure success. If it was on Airstrip the item would be in the closed off room in Admin building, there would be 2 guards in Admin, 1 by tents, 1 in the hangar next to Admin, 1 patrolling between the two hangars to the side of Admin and 2 patrolling the open area. If on town the item would be in either of the Apartment buildings by Construction. If it were to be held on Factory, the item would be in the South-West corner of the main room behind the knocked over shelving unit.Event 3: AssassinationThis is a relatively standard assassination mission, an AFSOC or GM will call SOC to the OP War Room of either country and explain this: There is a General of the opposing side meeting in Factory with a weapons development team to assess a new weapon system that if adopted has the capability to change the tide of war. It will be Ranger/Vega's job to recon the area and form a detailed report of where sentry's are, how many escort forces are there and the exact location of the General at the time of the recon trip. MARSOC/GRU will be tasked with taking out the sentry's while the Green Beret/SSO and DEVGRU/PDSS members push into the location and wipe out the escort forces, Rangers/Vega will push in and execute the General (out of line of sight from the other forces) after questioning.Event 4: Convoy defenseThe US would be tasked with escorting a convoy of confiscated weaponry from the US Outpost to Factory, they escorting infantrymen will have to set up scout patrols to recon the area ahead to prepare for battle, defend the cargo while trying to take out the opposition. The infantry would most likely need a health boost of some sort so that they all dont just instantly get deleted. In Town the convoy would be attacked from Gas Station and Oil, at the turn of the road they will encounter light sniper/marksman fire from the north rocks in the valley and when they get to factory they will find a large amount of opposing forces to wipe out to allow the convoy entry.Event 5: Forza FunThis would be more of a fun, let some steam off event with 0 RP value at all. Simmilar to the speeder bike races on SWRP in the Republic Tourney, this would have a member from each faction in a Humvee race around the map in a chosen circuit, there would be 2 rounds in the first one you will go head to head against the other 9 factions in an intense race, you must finish in the top 50% to progress to the second round. In the second round the players will be racing 1 at a time doing timed laps around the circuit, they all get 1 test lap. The fastest driver will receive a cash prize of 50k. Not Naitsir 79
+1 Has a really strong app (so much that its 2000 words) and has some solid event ideas. As of right now MRP doesn't have many GM's and I think Jake would be a perfect fit as a GM as he has a lot of RP in mind. Good Luck 1 Link to comment
hysteria 560
+1 He has a good application along with good RP ideas. I also feel that it would make sense for him to be a Gamemaster considering AFSOC from my knowledge is only allowed really for RP events and outside war. Also Jake is the master RP'er 1 Link to comment
Forums Moderator eli_ 641 Posted July 17, 2020 Forums Moderator Share Posted July 17, 2020 I only know Jake from SWRP so I'm only going off of that and your application. Holy shit 2000 words. Legit insane. Events go insanely in depth and just make sense. You've lead a few events I've hosted and you're RP is always insane. Never had any issues with you on SWRP. Would love to see you as a GM. Good luck. +1 1 Link to comment
