  1. Considering our server hits 80-128 players daily, and runs at a tickrate of 22 (the server only updates positions roughly 4 times a second, ignoring client-sided and serversided lag) the jumpy combat does NOT benefit anything other than the further breaking of hitboxes/gameplay mechanics. So the 'jumpy combat' is definitely being nerfed. Thank you everybody for your input, I will start working on the final iteration for this system in the next few days.

  2. Personally, I don't think the Stamina system works at all as a whole. The entire map is around being open with minimal cover while OBJ's have a focus on CQC. Most paths to OBJ's have maybe, 1-2 large structures that can be used as consistent viable cover and maybe a few smaller ones along the way. With that in mind, it fits in no way to limit player speed with a map laid out like this. I already waste 40 stamina if I'm running to US west gate and only get about 14 back by the time I have all my ammo, meaning I have about 74% stamina to work with ( 75% to get to US south gate, leaving with about 90 ). Leaving from the US west gate I get to about the tanks, which is the main cover area to KH, and from there I need to wait for my stamina to regen to leave or else I'm in the open exposed. This is similar for most OBJ's but I'm using KH as an example cause I played it most these past wars. I would be fine with this, if there was more than one area because now my "safe haven" of a rock is RPG fodder and I can't run away either because my asthmatic ass needs a hit of my inhaler before I can run for another 10 seconds or because a .308 lapua round wants to nest in my brain. Another issue with the system is the way it effects combat and OBJ play. Combat is now reliant more on who is already on an OBJ and who hasn't been running around too much, making it much more of a fucking micro-manage than anything. Another thing, since the surrounding area of an OBJ is mostly open, we usually have to sprint to an OBJ, yes? Well if you do that now you're just out of stamina or rather low and are now at a disadvantage because if you use it to engage you don't have enough to disengage, if you use it to get into a spot, you don't have enough if you get caught, etc. This also forces groups of people to be separated because if one SOC group is rotated off of an OBJ to go somewhere else, they have to make sure everyone is stamina ready so that nobody is left behind and they are not down a member when attempting to clear an OBJ. In all honesty, this system would work if the server had high-max numbers at all times so that nobody had to run around an OBJ to cover a spot that isn't being held and waste stamina. However that isn't the case. IMO HOW IT SHOULD BE: Stamina bar for jumping only or a re-iteration of the anti-bhop with a fixed system to prevent bouncing on cliffs. Sprinting will be infinite but overall speed will be reduced by having weapons out and will be effected by weapon class( pistols= almost normal speed | smgs= slightly slower than pistols | AR+shotguns= slightly slower than smgs | Small snipers ( Orsis, SV-98, Mosin, Dragoon )= moderately slower than ar's and shotguns | Heavy Snipers and LMG's ( M60, M249, M82A3, M95, PKN, 50. HMG, ares shrike ) = moderately-heavily slower than small snipers ) If you think I should expand upon any of my ideas, need me to explain something or need me to correct/clarify anything, pm me or respond to my thread with the part quoted.

  3. +1 I don't really agree with the spawn with health or armor but I would like if we could just have some extra cash for leveling up. Other than all that I like the idea of it so maybe I will like the health and armor.

  4. In-game name: Shy :^) Age: 20 SteamID (https://steamid.io/): STEAM_0:0:35097186 Warns: 0 Timezone: PST Playtime?: 90:26:43 Do you have access to TeamSpeak and a microphone?: Yes Do you have the ability to record Garry's Mod videos?: Yes Referral(s): N/A Past experiences as staff: Mod+ on multiple (8+) DarkRP and PERP servers over the course of 8 years. Why should we choose you over other applicants? It has gotten to the point for me where this community means more than just a Dark RP server. I care more about others having a good experience in this community than myself. That is where this staff application is coming from. I believe I can be a beneficial staff member to this community and its server. My approach to moderation is heavily focused on teaching rather than punishing. I believe that everyone makes mistakes as I have in this server before. I believe that mistakes can be a learning experience if one is willing to learn, aided further by staff members. Keeping the server a fun and positive environment would be a high priority when in the server from this point on. In addition to enforcing the rules of the server, I have and will continue to educate new players about the DarkRP ropes so they can soon have as much fun as the rest of us. My previous experiences as a staff member on other communities has taught me the important factors of being a staff member; most importantly patience. To keep a calm head in most situations is a humble trait of mine, whether in-game or in real life. Not everyone is perfect though and I am willing to acknowledge my short comings that could affect my moderation skills. An example being that I do not have a high tolerance for those whose purpose when joining the server is to troll or intentionally cause problems. I will be tough/stern on those people, but in a mature and fair way to the best of my abilities. This community and this server has created some fun memories for me and I want to show my appreciation by giving back in a way that improves the community for everyone. Have you ever been banned or punished on any server? No Have you made any previous applications: No How much time do you have to contribute to the role?: If there are no sudden changes to my current schedule; 2-4 If you have any, what hobbies or activities are you involved in outside of Garry's Mod: I am attending University studying to then continue my education to law school. I am a tennis instructor, focused mainly on teaching kids ranging from 5-18 to play tennis. I play golf, ski, and have been a cellist for 15 years. Did you read the staff rules?: Shy :^)

  5. As of now, the only reward to getting higher levels is getting access to new jobs. That and getting to level 100 and getting prestige. I think it'd be really cool if there'd be more of a reward for gaining levels, especially the ones after level 50 when you unlock the last few jobs. Rewards like gaining more health when you spawn, or spawning with armor or defense to weapons. It wouldn't have to be anything crazy, just little numbers that add up over time. Something like getting milestones, like every 2 or 5 levels you get one or two extra health / armor when you spawn.

Do you have access to TeamSpeak and a microphone?: [YES/NO] YES Do you have the ability to record Garry's Mod videos?:[YES/NO] YES Referral(s): [What administrator recommended you to apply?] Homeless, Skye Past experiences as staff: [Optional] Former Moderator on Aurora TTT (Shut down) How do you plan on benefiting our server? [minimum 2 paragraphs] I plan on benefiting the server by being an active member of the staff team. I can be active during both high-population and low-population hours. Instead of alt-tabbing after war and watching Netflix for an hour, I plan on using some of that time to take sits and improve as a staff member. Additionally if there is report needed to be taken care of mid-war, I will be there to assist and solve the problem quickly. I've been playing on this server since 2017, and I have nothing but good to say about it. By getting staff I would give back to the community that gave me so many experiences that I will never forget. Being a good officer and a good staff member, in my opinion, go side by side. As an officer in an entry faction, I know how to solve problems and to mediate situations effectively. The reason I say "in a entry faction" is because it makes a huge difference. In an entry faction you have to deal with more problems on a daily basis than that of a SOC faction. In short, I will be able to apply the logic I use as an officer to that of a staff member. Furthermore, I will be able to keep both a level-head and a non-bias opinion in sits. Overall, my addition to the staff team would do nothing but benefit the server and the players on it as a whole. Have you ever been banned or punished on GG MRP? If so, Include details. I was banned back in mid-2017 for something having to do with me accidentally shooting an RPG before a raid started. Have you made any previous applications, If so when?: N/A How much time do you have to contribute to the role?: During summer I can contribute about 4-8 hours a day. During school, maybe about 2-5 hours a day.

  7. In-game name: Trollman Age: 15 SteamID (https://steamid.io/): STEAM_1:0:82803956 Warns: 0 Timezone: EDT Playtime?: | trollman has played for 372:20:37. Do you have access to TeamSpeak and a microphone?: Yes Do you have the ability to record Garry's Mod videos?: No. Referral(s): None. Past experiences as staff: I was formerly Lead Moderator for Garnet Gaming in 2017. Why should we choose you over other applicants? I should be chosen over other applicants because I know that Garnet Gaming is looking for staff members that are capable and at least somewhat skilled at what they are expected to do. Though I cannot speak for other applicants, I check out in these categories because I used to be a respected staff member for Garnet and I am very qualified because of it, and I will be loyal and dedicated to my position as a staff member. I know that I am capable of reliving this standard if I am accepted as a staff member once again and I will not disappoint. I have been with the Garnet Gaming community since early 2017 and I have rarely ceased to follow the rules. Knowing this, I will be able to properly enforce them and be a role model for those who will want to do the same with the staff team in the future and those who look to be respected in the community. From experience, I know that I can take sits and user reports in a respectful and mature manner and can do my best to resolve the problem at hand. When it comes to dealing with a report or a sit I know that I am obligated to not be biased and only use the unbiased information that is given to me to resolve the problem. I think that my ability to resolve problems in an orderly manner will make the DarkRP server better, more fun experience as a whole. I believe that I will make a great addition to the staff team because I am very easy to get along with and friendly. These are great qualities to have as a staff member because it is great for the community to have a good relationship with the staff team, rather than the staff being looked upon as some ‘mean bossy people.’ It is also great to have better bonds within the staff team because more can be done in a certain amount of time rather than less due to a random grudge or conflict between a set of staff members obstructing work. If I have an existing conflict with a staff member, I know to put it aside and work more efficiently as a team. I hope I can be the same great staff member I was before and if I can, I will do the best I can possibly deliver. Have you ever been banned or punished on any server?: I have been permabanned once on Garnet for advertising, but it was then listed as a false ban since I was spreading net neutrality awareness. The ban is currently not listed and the appeal is from the old forums so I do not think it can be accessed. Have you made any previous applications, If so when?: I have made two applications on Garnet, one being denied in 2016 and one obviously being accepted in 2017. Both are on the old forums so I do not think those can be accessed. How much time do you have to contribute to the role?: Before summer break ends I will be available all day, not including Wednesdays and Thursdays from June 26 to around the beginning of August; then I will only be available after 5:00 PM due to volunteering. If you have any, what hobbies or activities are you involved in outside of Garry's Mod?: Outside of GMod, I am involved in my school’s marching and concert band. In marching band, I play snare drum with the drumline and in concert band, I play euphonium horn. I will also be participating in a summer volunteer program with a local hospital from late June to August that I have not started yet but am really looking forward to. Did you read the staff rules?: Trollman Thank you very much for reading. Please don't hesitate to point out any shortcomings with me or this application! -Trollman

  8. Leveling up takes a very long time and I know being a high level could show that you've really put in some time but I think adding some sort of xp boost could be kinda cool. You could implement this when someone unboxes a crate and the xp boost could last for about an hour or even more. It doesn't have to be a tremendous boost but still a good difference.

  9. Before you -1, it's not increasing slots from 3 to 4. THE PROBLEM: Each batch of meth costs 1 iodine, 1 phosphate, and 2 water. The server limits you to two of each entity needed for meth: two iodine, two phosphate, two water. This can be frustrating for a role that already is quite tedious. Because there is no chat command to buy entities, each time you have to cook is another trip into the F4 menu, clicking around much more than necessary, eating up both time and hair follicles in the process. THE SOLUTION: Increase the entity limit of water from 2 to 4. Better yet, require only a single water for each batch of meth. This would drastically improve the QOL of Meth Manufacturer and make the tedium a bit less... tedious. (aside from when Rohan steals my water)

  11. -1 it is none of the player's faults that the server crashes....most of the time. I know this is biased because it has happened to me but I have lost 700's in my printers from one server crash. People put a lot of time into this server they shouldn't be discouraged to play late due to crashes.

  19. +1 I haven't really seen you around on the server, though since being accepted into staff before I feel your experience would definitely help. Not being able to record isn't very good looking on the application, I advise you to use NVIDIA shadow play if your PC has it, or just download OBS. Other than that, you have a decent paragraph and it seems you would be a good addition yet again.

  24. DMR's including the SKS and M14 EBR would (atleast the way I want it to be) fall under the AR category. I'd be fine with making a full spreadsheet if you'd like for visuals. EDIT v @{GG} CJ Too lazy to make a spreadsheet then send it/gyazo it for the forums so I'll just edit it here: Disclaimer: I am not going to edit the numbers for donor classes/speed buff classes as from what I've seen CW2.0 reduces movement speed based off a number rather than %. Pistols: M1911, P345, P99(both), SIG P226, FiveSeven, Makarov, SR-1M, cz75, cz52, OTS-33 Pernanch = 275 speed (down from 280) reduced by 5vel IMI-DEAGLE, DEAGLE, MR96 = 273 speed (down from 280) reduced by 7vel Tokarev, Micro Deagle, RugerMK3 = 277 speed (down from 280) reduced by 3vel OR just have all be reduced by a stagnant amount of 5vel (275 speed, down from 280) | or none at all since pistols generally don't effect speed by much SMGs: All smg's = 270 speed (down from 280) reduced by 10vel Pretty basic, most have same size and caliber. ARs+shotguns+dmrs: All ARs, shotguns, dmrs = 265 speed (down from 280) reduced by 15vel Relatively all same size and weight, no need for much varrying Light Snipers: Orsis, SV-98, Mosin-Nagant, Dragoon = 260 speed (down from 280) reduced by 20 vel Not really gonna be too mobile with a long ass barrel and gun in your hands HEAVY WEAPONS: M82A3, M92(both), M-60, M249, PKM, ares shrike = 250 speed (down from 280) reduced by 30 vel Running around with giant 50.cal ammunition and 30-50lb guns doesn't really make you usain bolt BIG: .50 HMG = 240 speed (down from 280) reduced by 40 vel It's a fucking .50 HMG with a capability to hold 600 rounds... it's not really meant to be rushed with anyway. Probably fogot some guns or something else, anyway feel free to put your input on this. Won't make this into a full suggestion as it has been mentioned many times before in suggestions.

  26. I think the "jumpy combat" is what needs to be stopped, but I do agree that the stam system could be reworked so that you lose stamina more slowly and gain more when standing still.

  28. I like the thought of this, but the implementation might drive some lower enlisted / base factions away from the class. Of course diversity is nice and possible a key essential to " win wars ". If implemented, the usual LMG / marksman whitelist users might not want to play on it? Just a thought process that came to mind when reading. I thoroughly enjoyed this anti bhop because as @Trip mentioned, it brought teamwork and I feel it can be used anywhere on an obj (for example, instead of US taking the stairway to embassy, they can use a two - three man boost and approach at a different angle). Brings a lot of dynamic game changing plays that will keep players enticed and work together instead of single man run and gun. Anti Bhop worked in the past, should be useful for this map specifically.

  29. -1 this would be a horrible addition to the server since people would get pissed and would bring the server reputation down a lot also i have not seen any abuse of these but they do give proof if they dont have proof they get denied

  31. Massive +1 This would give more incentive to level up, even past 50. After hitting 50 alot of people stop trying to level up, prestiging gives basically no benefit.

  32. (I know I'm going to get a lot of hate for this but...) The only good thing that has come out of the whole stamina thing is that combat has finally been fun. People can't jump around anymore. I personally think this is wonderful. Makes combat fair like it should be You don't see people jumping around as much and breaking hitboxes. The people that complain about clearly use it nonstop in combat so I recommend finding other methods to fight. I personally suck at the game but I still have fun without having to jump around like a fucking kangaroo breaking hitboxes. For those who complain about "jumpy combat" being nerfed now I say get over it. Time to play fair.

  33. I no longer think this lmao. After actually using the stamina system in several wars, and seeing everyone else affected by it, it is very interesting, and I am liking it more and more. It makes people put actual thought into their movement instead of just spamming or running everywhere. The fire fights are a lot more interesting in my opinion, including sniping. People have to conserve their stamina before they get in fights so they have enough to dodge shots and shoot back instead of being stuck in the open with no stamina. Using your stamina wisely benefits you, and ignoring that stamina bar hits you hard.

  34. Recently the server has been shutting down every morning around 4-5 AM EST, VIPS and other players have been abusing the Compensation request process to make bank on these shutdowns, hardly ever showing actual proof of the printers being what level they claim, or the time of the crash being validated. I suggest that compensation requests only be allowed for FailRP and other incidents involving players being the source of the loss. Compensation should not be allowed for server's daily shutdown because these people KNOW it is going to shutdown, they should know not to set up huge printer operations moments before the shutdown.
