(Disclaimer: This is not meant to be an insult to the current officer base, but to give ideas and input on how you can improve the entry faction.) A guide to being a base faction officer: For a while now, base faction quality has been decreasing which has subsequently led to our population being at an all time low. This guide is to give you ideas of what you can do to improve your faction and the server. Being active and having a routine -It should be common sense that as an officer, you need to be active on the server, but it should be moderate so that you do not burn yourself out. So an easy way to be active while avoiding burn out, is to develop a routine of when to get on and when to get off, like getting on from 2:00-6:00 EST. It allows for yourself to stay active so that you can contribute, but not enough that you go very inactive suddenly. -Also, being active does NOT mean being AFK on the server, doing nothing. -Lastly, it is obvious that you have IRL commitments, like school and work, and that is ok. However, you should be able to make time for Garnet AND life, if you cannot spare time for Garnet, then you should not be an officer. For example, I am taking 3 AP classes and 3 other classes, which around 4 of those give daily homework, yet I still find time to work on school and be active on Garnet. And no, I'm not failing those classes. Be genuine and friendly towards the enlisted -It should be expected when you act like a superior dickwad to the enlisted for whatever reason, they’re gonna get pissed, mass, and leave. So instead, don't be a stickler on the rules and be chill. If a PVT steps one nanometer out of base, don’t shoot him in the head and say over his body, “PRIVATE OUT OF BASE!11!11!!!”. Have a high tolerance for minges -This one point might be misinterpreted so read this through. If someone is being hard to cooperate with, don’t go straight to demotions or removal of whitelists, first try to cooperate with them in other ways. Even better, ignore it. If they are simply blurting stupid shit quickly in debrief, ignore them. Don’t get all pissed off like they just fucked your mom, trivial things like that should just be overlooked. Have fun. -I don’t just mean this for yourself, but also for the enlisted. I hate seeing people do some type of combat training manual with PVTs. Most people come on after school or work to have fun, not learn again. Also, it’s a lot more interesting that the PVTs learn things like the map and combat during war or simulations. So instead of doing tryouts or combat training constantly, do simulations, raids, or kidnapping, just anything fun. If you are O-1 or above, you have the power to do shit, so don’t just sit there and let your base faction die, do something useful. More activities -This ties into activity and having fun, but doing more than just tryouts or sitting on your ass is how to revive a base faction. For example, split up enlisted into different groups with leaders (preferably higher enlisted) and have them scout out the area for any possible kidnappees, this gives the newer enlisted a better understanding and knowledge of the map, as well as keeps them on the server. -Also doing massive simulations between Army and 2GA enlisted can be very fun for both sides, considering both base factions are obviously of the same skill level, which will have both sides become accustomed with player models, their weapons, and the objective they are fighting at. -Gamemasters are not the only people in game that have the abilities to create roleplay, create some yourselves by simply starting from a single event or incident like a raid or kidnap. Training Recruits -As an officer, it should be obvious that you are not above training recruits. One of my many pet peeves is how some officers scream at one DS/RFR to train constantly whether it’s during peacetime or during war. That’s an easy way to kill your base faction. If you see one guy training all the time, give him a break and train yourself. Lead by example and not by barking orders, this will make the enlisted want to train more or at least make them feel more valued and respected. In conclusion, this thread are many solutions to current problems in the base factions. It comes down to the officers individually to improve themselves, and if they cannot, then it is up to the leaders to start punishing them. Officers should not be sitting on ranks they aren't proving they deserve. If anyone else would like to throw their 2 cent in, go ahead, but this is all the ideas I could come up with in the span on half an hour.

I apologize for how delayed this was, some things needed to be figured out first. Sits came at a premium this month. The total amount of sits was drastically lower than last month, and that was taken into consideration. Promotions Tuna > Mod (Fulfilled his duty as a T Mod. No issues during his trial stage and decent sit count for a mid month addition) Blackprince > Mod (Fulfilled his duties as a T Mod. Good sit count) Millerjerm > Mod (Fulfilled his duties as a T Mod. Good sit count) Weeb > Head Mod (Average sit count for a Mod. Active in bringing ideas to the table to try and better the server) Topshot > Head Mod (Very strong sit count and overall contribution. Brings ideas to the table but has moments where his behavior can be concerning. Will need to limit the outburts to continue into admin ranks) Sinister > Head Mod (Very strong sit count even with an LOA at the tail end of the month. Will need to expand horizons past sits to progress to admin ranks) Tora > Trial Admin (Good sit count and fulfilled his duties as a Head Mod. Had a slip up but that was overshadowed by his strong activity in bringing quality ideas to the table and overall maturity) Extended Terms Promotion missed due to a lack of effort or LOAs Soap > Recently Promoted Party > Recently Promoted Ominous > Recently Promoted Rust > Recently Promoted Bozee > Granted month-long LOA. Needs to earn Mod next month or he may be removed. Python > Recently Promoted Salmon > Recently Promoted Peekay > Granted LOA. Low activity otherwise but picked up at the end of the month. Josh > Granted LOA. Zachman > Hasn’t put together a solid enough month for Admin. Good sit count and very strong Division work. Struggled at times with macro-level decision making. Has to limit mistakes to progress. Whiskey > Received a staff strike this month. Very good activity but decision making leaves something to be desired. Asks the right questions but sometimes asks questions an Admin should be able to figure out with common sense. Demotions/Resignations Eli > User (Resignation) Gythem > User (Resignation) Note: My perms are still wonky so I can only fulfill the Trial Mod > Mod promotions. @Garnet will have to complete the remainder of the promotions as well as the demotions. @Topshot1, @WeebMaster, & @Sinister, please speak to me about joining a Division.

Hi guys, You might have noticed that I was inactive for a week and that is because I got some good and some bad news. The good one is that I'm finally going in gendarmerie school starting the 26th of November. The bad is that I cannot play anymore due to prep for school and, well, school itself. Playing on the server as a Mod was awesome and I thank @stretchy for being the best trainer ever. I thank the staff community for letting me staff and play on the server. Y'all are chill and that's respectable. I thank everyone that helped and that made me laugh. Anyway, I'm gonna miss the community a bit and I probably will never have time to play on the server for at least a year. I'm sorry that I used staff time and effort for me to be just staff for a month. All and all, it was worth it Catch you all some other day pogchamp

-1, Could easily be abused especially with perks. I don't want to fight a 250/350 HP security guard if I'm raiding. I don't think giving people shotguns/stun batons for free is a good idea. Also, most of the time security guards are either low-level or dedicated, meaning that they are actually getting paid. Most Security Guards over the level of 20 won't do it for free, and I don't think adding an extra command that could possibly mess with the server is a good idea for such an easily solved problem.

You make a lot of great points in this doc and really do a good job in pointing out distinct things that will lead to success. You’re personally someone who has grown immensely (in my eyes) as a leader and has taken criticism and bettered himself. I’m happy to see that you’re offering your experiences as teaching points to current and future leaders. I hope that base faction leaders will actually look to this doc for guidance as I’m going to Pin & Feature it.

Okay so you admit to the NLR. The reason I ban you for NITRP along with that though is that you mention in the video the following: "I came back because I was defending the base." You are a hobo lord, which you admit you were at the time that you were defending the base, making it fail RP that you were basing with them. At first you deny you were actually basing with them, but after I say "you were defending the base, so that means you were" you say "yes" in response, acknowledging that you were actively trying to protect the base while being a hobo lord. Now heres my fault here. It was late, and I was rushing to finish up something as I needed to submit something else that isnt moderation related in soon, and I also was tired. So this was a bit rushed. I also did not check damage logs. As such, it would make sense if this was accepted, and reduced to a Mass NLR ban. I'd honestly prefer that, as I sort of jumped the gun on this one due to me not being in the best state of mind at the time. Edit: Talking with minxx in game about the video, they mentioned it looks like you rdmed Chris too, by kill logs. That would make this NITRP too if thats correct due to the fact you've already broken nlr a ton of times, and then RDM would be added on to it. I do not have any further evidence though.
