  1. One year... Its hard to believe its finally been one year, It feels like it happened yesterday but it really happened one year ago today. We all lost a friend who cared for everyone he met dearly and treated everyone with respect. Whether you knew him personally or in passing He made a difference in every single persons life he touched, but he is gone now. One year ago the best person I ever knew died. And his name was Gamma.

  2. Suggestion: I suggest that we add a command or button or something that gets rid of a current hit/adds it back to the hit menu so you don't gotta complete it. Reasoning: There are two main reasons, 1 being the fact that people already do this via killing themselves in the console, however they lose their perks when they do this. The second reason is that people place hits on afk people in spawn all the time, and that can force a hitman to have to reset their hit. I'm unsure if this is possible but here's hoping!

  3. In Game Name: CG P-269 CBM CIDL WO3 7006 Gauche Age: 19 SteamID: STEAM_0:1:64025154 Warns: None Timezone: EST Playtime: 185 hours and 55 minutes Do you have access to TeamSpeak and a microphone?: Yes I do! Do you have the ability to record Garry's Mod videos?: Yes I do! Referral(s): Moderator Geoffy Trial Moderator Smith Past experiences as staff: A couple of years ago I had the opportunity to be a moderator for a server called Monolith, however it was a pretty toxic community so I ended up moving on! Why should we choose you over other applicants? I think the reason I should be picked to move up to a Staff position is because I have mature qualities that others don't have. I already try to provide as much assistance as I possibly can through my current Coruscant Guard position. Also with any new players who join this community, I try to give them a tour and introduce them to other players as well so that they feel welcome to the community! Primarily I would just like to help! Even if I am not accepted for this position I will still continue to strive to welcome all new players and help them out in any way possible! The final reason I feel that I would be a good pick is that having Coruscant Guard as my primary role has also given me the opportunity to learn the rules of the community and provide a first hand experience with handling rules that have been broken. Also due to this position, I have always tried my hardest to hear all witnesses and look at any relevant evidence to move further with any decision. I also really never show any bit of bias and always learn both sides of the story to take the appropriate action! Have you ever been banned or punished on any server?: I probably did several years ago as I was an annoying kid Have you made any previous applications, If so when?: I have not How much time do you have to contribute to the role?: Anytime I am active on my Coruscant Guard I could be active! So that would be around 4-8 hours on a regular day! On the weekends I could play literally anytime past 3PM EST as that is when I get off of work! If you have any, what hobbies or activities are you involved in outside of Garry's Mod?: I play around with beats on FLStudio, however, I mostly play other video games seeing as between Work, College, and GarrysMod, I don't have too much time to do anything else! Did you read the staff rules?: CG P-269 CBM CIDL WO3 7006 Gauche

  4. So on SWRP there are keycards that are used to open restricted areas. A major issue i see with mayors being able to build is the fact that they have to share the keypad codes with PD. Meaning if someone switches off PD they can share the code with their friends and it could be rather difficult for staff to keep track of it. If there is a way to allow the mayor to place down Keycard readers instead of keypads and simply give all the PD classes a keycard I feel it would completely solve the issue. I am not a coder so i do not know if that is possible, but if it is i feel it can be rather helpful for both PD and staff.

  7. I think KingMash mostly summed it up for me! I played DarkRP many years ago when GMod looked completely different and every DarkRP server was almost completely vanilla, it was a totally different world to the servers of today. Back then, it was certainly more chaotic but you were still able to meet decent people and set up a gun store together and have a good laugh. So fast-forward to today and after playing many different servers, I guess Garnet has done the best job of striking a balance between classic vanilla DarkRP but with enough addons to keep the player base happy. That aside, the community is fantastic here! There's some truly awesome people here which I look forward to chatting to and having a laugh with when I'm online.

  8. The comradery of MARSOC and marines back on Echo was what kept me around. I loved those dudes, wanted to join MARSOC so badly I grinded the server and built a bond with all the guys. It kept evolving into different friends and factions, and it kept me around. It was the people. It always has been, and it always will be.

  9. I decided to stay because I value old style DarkRP were RP actually matters. I really have a strong dislike for other RP servers that have these anime characters flying around with lightsabers and bases that are so insane that you have no chance in hell raiding it. Everytime I get on garnets DarkRP there’s always a good balance between civilian jobs like gun dealer, cinema owner and criminal classes like thief and meth manufacturer. There’s always something going on if you just walk around the map, back alley deals happening or a random gun shop in the middle of no where that actually has a lot of customers. For these reasons and many more THIS is why I stayed in this community and will continue to stay and be staff here till garnet closes down shop.

  12. I committed to MRP in January last year, and except for my dirt digging for a month, have more or less spent the entire 16-17 months on MRP. From my early stages in MRP, being active when the server was at a low, I was fortunate enough to get a push from Officers and Staff back then to contribute more and more to the server. Back in the days when I was in Army, I felt an immense responsibility to the 11B who deserved an actual experience of the server, and tried to provide that to as many of them as much of that as possible. As time went on, I had my little dirt digging session, and when I came back was given the position of GA in Army when Army was struggling. During that time, I felt an immense responsibility to all of Army who deserved and needed change to improve the faction. In November, that responsibility had burnt me out, and I chose to hand Army over to someone with more motivation than me, as I felt there was no point leading the faction if I didn't have the motivation. 2 weeks later, the Manager resigned and myself and Salmon were effectively managers, and at the end of the month I was again fortunate enough to be officially made Manager. During that time, I felt an immense responsibility to the server, that was undergoing a definite transition, to try and provide a better experience for players. As time has gone on, that feeling of responsibility has burnt me out once again. Something that I wished to announce on my own terms, that unfortunately I was not able to do, is that the feeling of responsibility to the server and the role of Manager has been harming my mental health in the past 2-3 weeks. Ideally, I would love to continue as MRP Manager and try my best to help the server, but I know that when you find yourself in a hole, you don't keep digging. I'm resigning from MRP as Manager, and wish all those on the server who truly want it to do well are empowered to help as much as they can, but I will remain in the community so this isn't a full goodbye. I can't tag everyone who has helped me because holy shit that's a lot of people, but I'll just tag a notable few @LeKichi - ty for my sanity @Rust - ty for backing me back when i was enlisted, and being short @acer - go eat a burger with no honey mustard @Fetn - You kept me sane when I was the only 11A, even if you're a cheater who wears skirts @Fonza - Thank you for taking the chance on making me Head Admin, and your help back when you were GB COL @Reeper - another person keeping me sane during 11A days @Ozzy - you are sensible and mature, you have no idea how much that helps with MRP @Proggy - i know everyone probably says this, but man you being chill and chatty with people really did help me feel part of a community early on @Nutter - you're great so long as we don't let you draw in jackbox and everyone else who helped me rise, or helped me lead, obviously your contributions are valued

  15. If you are not actively playing (on a consistent basis) I would refrain from posting on suggestions. Suggestions are a place for people to express their ideas for the server obviously there are more important things to focus on and that’s why we have a trello. I won’t leave my opinion here but if we really want to get people more involved in the server I believe squads like 19D are the way to go. SWRP splits their main units into divisions of I believe 3. Yes, I know we are not a PVE but it seems to very obviously be getting their players engaged and give way to more opportunities for players to lead and play.
