  1. -100000000 bring this shit to shitpost general. Clans don’t need their own special place.

  2. -1 Clans are generally bad for the greater community in all my experiences, they often cause division and harbour toxicity (not all clans bare in mind, but a large enough number to be concerned). On top of this, I feel like having a system dedicated to clans is an unnecessary addition to the server, given that discord or other platforms could handle this sort of thing already.

  3. My paint company has been picking up a lot more work than usual because I've finally gotten all around liability insurance, so I can now sub to other bigger companies etc. So I am working 24/7 don't feel like I can be much help taking phonecalls in the middle of rush hour when my fellow staff members need my help the most! maybe when winter hits & work slows down I will be capable of properly doing my staff duty's and may re-apply.

  4. I was going to mention, i'm 99% sure this predate @Proggy even joining the community, but "BACK IN THE DAY (2015-2019) there were large clans of 40-50 players who would swarm through communities on DarkRP, and destroy them along with their economy over a period of a few days. This is quite literally why I added rules in regards to mega-basing (they'd essentially allow you to combine more than 1 party with two adjacent bases). Large 'official' clans that can benefit 30-40 members is such an overpowered thing to have, and there's not a single thing you can do to prevent a group that big from minging/mass raiding you/generally ruining your experience on the server.

  5. +1 only if when adding this, bizzy doesnt break the server again.

  6. Description: I think it would be beneficial to add in a clan system to the server. This would be a section in the f4 menu where you could manage and add members and promote like you can in a steam group or clash of clans (coleaders, and elders or something along the lines. There could be a leaderboard with categories for clans to compete in (most money, player count, avg. prestige, avg. level etc.). This is just the very basic model but hopefully people could add some other suggestions along the way to help improve upon my idea. You would need to have a minimum level and a large cost like 10 mil to open a clan so that everyone is not abusing it. Maybe adding a timer so that if the leader does not log on for a certain the clan will be disbanded, (should also be a way to transfer leadership so clan can stay alive). Reasoning: I think this would help to give clans a meaning. We would all be competing against each other for the top spot on the leaderboard in whatever respective category we want. This would also a generate a friendly competition between clans generating rivalry and reasoning to work together.

  8. -1 clans not only just usually end up sucking, but a lot of them end up holding players that cause a significant amount of problems, and while not every single clan is bad, in my over 2 years staffing here I've seen so many bad ones have to be taken down or mitigated against because bad behavior would often time be excused by clanmates or would even be rubbed off on others by those who enjoy causing the server general issues.

  9. -1 after rethinking it, I realized that clans are getting bigger and bigger and this would be retarded.

  11. So, as well all know the party system is extremely useful. I've enjoyed it for years and I hope it stays. The only problem I have with it is when I go to add a player to my party, I have to scroll for 30 minutes to find 1 person. I really believe adding a simple search bar would really buff the party system and make it more user friendly for other people who have never used it. Sadly I've barely coded in my life so I can't really help out on that side, as I would love to do but I'm only a year into my Lua class so I can't provide help. This is a very small suggestion but I feel it's just a quality of life touch that would really help when inviting players to base with me.

  26. +1 as Shank said, just rework the whole thing! @NutterBy far the worst bug is when the party leader leaves the party or server it re activates Friendly Fire without giving players a notification (Two M202 were lost that way). When you try and create a party it says you are still in a party which doesn’t make sense since you can’t use /p. Lua spam errors, occasional game crashing glitches. The current version is outdated.

  32. GarnetGaming DarkRP - Division Information The general purpose of the DarkRP Division System is to separate power, responsibility, and workload more evenly within the team, and cater to each specific persons' unique abilities and experience. The division system allows for staff members to contribute where they will be most effective, to deliver a consistent and high quality experience to our players at all times and in all areas. Divisions can be joined at specific ranks by completing the training process with the Supervisors or Directors of each division. This document will cover the minimum rank to join divisions, general expectations, the training process, and the impact that each division has on the overall functionality and performance of our Staff Team. Each division will have a staff member assigned as the Director, and other members assigned as supervisors. Lead Admins will function as supervisors for every division, and can stand in wherever needed. Division Directors will cycle out based on performance, and will work directly with the Management Team to ensure a consistent quality across all division functions. Disclaimer: Division Directors can decline training to any person for any reason, if you feel you are being declined to join a division for any reason that is unfair or unjust, please contact a member of Management. Human Resources Division (HR) Rank to join: Lead Moderator | Prizes: HR Of The Month The role of the Human Resources team is to recruit, prepare, and assist new staff members throughout their learning journey; Answering questions, giving feedback, and watching over them as they settle into their new role in our Community. Members of the HR team will also be directly involved with Staff Applications, Staff Recruiting, and Staff Complaints/Reports. To join the HR Division, you must hold the rank of Lead Moderator or higher, have abundant knowledge of the server & staff rules, work well with others, and be active in-game and on Discord. The HR Director will approve new members, and assign them with the Trial-HR role, wherein, they can only complete trainings with the assistance of a HR Supervisor, Division Director, or a Lead Admin+. The HR role will be granted after two trainings, or whenever the Division Director deems that you have sufficient experience and are ready for independence. Once you are a qualified member of HR, you can conduct trainings without the need for supervision. (Remember, two supervised trainings is a minimum, additional supervisions may be required based on your performance.) Operators Division (Ops) Rank to join: Trial Administrator The Operators division is responsible for all Administrative tasks outside of Garry’s Mod, this includes Forum Reports & Appeals, processing suggestions, handling Discord support tickets, and closely monitoring the quality of staff members as they handle reports in-game. While handling form reports and appeals, operators are expected to properly investigate each situation and ensure that no oversight is made when verifying information. When a ban appeal involves a staff member breaking staff rules, Operators may give a recommendation to the Executive Team in regards to staff punishments, but operators will not be responsible for executing these punishments on their own. To join the operators division, you must hold the rank of Trial Administrator or higher, have a deep understanding of the server & staff rules, and be generally active in-game, on Discord, and on the Forums. The Operators Director will approve new members, and assign them with the Trial Operator role, wherein, they can only handle situations with the assistance of a Operator Supervisor, Division Director, or a Lead Admin+. The Operator role will be granted when the division Director deems that you have sufficient experience and are ready for independence. Once you are a qualified Operator, you can handle Forum Administration & Discord support tickets without supervision. Gamemasters Division (GM) Recommended Rank to join: Senior Moderator | Prizes: GM Of The Month The role of the game Masters division is to engage with the community by means of hosting interactive games & events on the server. It is required that at least two qualified Game Masters be present for each event in order to properly document payout and ensure that events run smoothly. Ideas for new events can be tested by GM Supervisors, and made official by the GM Director or by Management. Game Masters may also arrange 'Game Nights' for the community or staff team, to be conducted within the Official GarnetGaming Discord Servers. To join the GM Division, you must hold the rank of Senior Moderator or higher, be able to follow documents and work well with others, and be fairly active in-game. The GM Director will approve new members, and assign them with the Trial-GM role, wherein, they can only host events with the assistance of a Supervisor, Division Director, or a Lead Admin+. The full GM role will be granted when the Division Director deems that you have sufficient experience and are ready for independence. Once you are a qualified Game Master, you may host events with any other qualified Game Master. The GameMasters Director may make exceptions for some players to join the division early, this decision will be dependent on the trainee's performance in community engagement and their standing in the staff team. _____________________________________________ Disclaimer: Management reserves the right to deny or revoke division access at any time and for any reason. Leaking documents, poor behavior, or any form of misconduct while performing division duties may result in your removal from the division, or from the staff team entirely.

  33. In-game name: StonksAAge: 16 SteamID (https://steamid.io/): STEAM_0:0:173851458 Warns: 2 (FailRP for base camping on Omega, and RDM for throwing a machete at a fellow player) Timezone: CST Playtime? (Paste your /playtime [Name]): 263 Hours Do you have access to TeamSpeak and a microphone?: [YES/NO] Do you have the ability to record Garry's Mod videos?:[YES/NO] Referral(s): [What Gamemaster recommended you to apply?] Towelie Past experiences as a Game Master: [Optional] N/A Why should we choose you over other applicants? [minimum 2 paragraphs] I have always liked creating things and being a gamemaster on a server that I play on and socialize in really sounds appealing. I also want to make the server a bit more fun and interesting with the ideas that I have come up with. I feel like most of the events being done on the server are just a bit repetitive in my opinion, and I feel like my ideas might add a bit more variety to the server. I also feel like being a gamemaster might give me some more experience on the server. Being a gamemaster also gives me some abilities that can help my faction and other factions with things such as tryouts, trainings, and sims. Being a gamemaster overall will give me some experience with the server, help make the server fun, and help factions in a similar way that staff does. Speaking of staff, it also gives me a peek of how staff operates. And in the future, I plan on becoming staff and being a gamemaster will be a good start. Have you ever been banned or punished on any server? If so, Include details I have been banned from the Garnet server once for accidental mass after I accidentally raided the US base too early, and on that same day, my brother also joined the server on my computer on his own steam account, and since I was banned, we both got banned for Ban evasion. However, it was acknowledged that the ban was in error, and it was appealed by SirSmity. How much time do you have to contribute to the role?: I have a lot of time during weekdays and nights on weekends to get on the server and contribute as a gamemaster. I work on weekends and after I get off of my shift, I usually join the server for 1 or more wars. In your own words, what are the responsibilities of a Gamemaster?: A gamemaster is a person whose priority is to make the server a fun place to play on, makes it more appealing for more people to play, and also help moderate the server and lift some load off of the staff's shoulders. A gamemaster is a key component in a server and they are what make the server unique and enjoyable. Describe how you would contribute to RP as a part of the Gamemaster team: As a gamemaster, I would host many unique events that I feel have never been done before, and I would also take feedback from my events in order to make any of my future events even more enjoyable than the past events. I would also have a very open schedule in the summer to be on and I can be on whenever I can and whenever I am needed. I would also be useful at nighttime when no staff are online, and I can be there to moderate the server at a time that many people decide to break the rules of the server. Please list and explain 5 unique event ideas designed for only your side to take part in: [Be sure to include any additional context that may be necessary to your explanation] 1) The missile silo in Echo under the Taliban base is invaded by the LFA (Liberation Forces of Afghanistan), and they plan on launching the missile at a civilian city that houses US citizens. The Taliban, in order to avoid further conflict with the US, then have to retake the missile silo before it is too late. 2) A LFA owned nuclear reactor goes supercritical and opens a portal to a zombie world. The zombies overwhelm the LFA base, and a special forces unit is sent in to turn off the reactor to seal the gate. The process is, however, very hard, and they lose some members during the process. 3) After the Taliban/US recover the body of a zombie, and after some research later, find out that the LFA had a nuclear reactor, and they proceed to carry out and assault on the LFA base in order to capture any surviving scientists/witnesses involved with the incident. 4) The Taliban set up an ambush on a village that houses resistance fighters in order to defeat them and take control of that territory, which is a key crossing point that the US uses to move troops and supplies. During the battle, some fighters remain, and they retreat to an abandoned tunnel system that takes them to an abandoned embassy. From there the Taliban now have to chase them and eliminate them before they can regroup with the US for aid. 5) The Taliban accidentally lose a secret weapon they have been working on in the waters around the abandoned embassy. The Taliban then send a dive team to recover the weapon, which has been heavily damaged, and bring it back to the Taliban base. Please list and explain 3 unique global event idea designed for the entire server to take part in: [Be sure to include any additional context that may be necessary to your explanation] 1) A strange anomaly is detected under the US base and 3 scientists are sent to investigate the anomaly. They set up a makeshift laboratory in the US base and send a recon force to investigate. They soon find that the anomaly is a portal to the other world and zombies are being spilled out of that gate. The recon force reports to the scientists. After some attempts to close the portal (First, using a machine to close the portal. Second, sealing the portal inside of a chamber), They decide that a suicide bomber from the Taliban is required to go into the portal and blow up to cause a big enough explosion to seal the portal. While all of that is happening, the whole map is under siege by zombies and overwhelming both the US and Taliban bases. 2) The LFA carry out one final assault on both the US and Taliban bases by planting 2 nuclear bombs in each base. The Taliban and US now have to work together to defeat the last of the LFA members and help defuse the bombs before they are detonated. The LFA put up a good fight and the Taliban and US suffer quite a few losses. After the bombs have been defused, both sides agree to destroy the bombs in order for them to not be used like that ever again. 3) A suicide bomber kills a bunch of US citizens during a ceremony and injures many more. The US learn of this situation and finds out that the bomber belonged to the Taliban. The US demand an explanation, and after the Taliban refuses to speak many times, soon surround the Taliban base. The Taliban realize that the US is bound to attack so they set up a plan to defend against the US forces. The US forces are then ordered to infiltrate the base to capture the leader of the Taliban and a clash breaks out. The Taliban put up a good fight and the US is forced to retreat after suffering many losses. The US and Taliban then come to an agreement about the suicide bomber and then the Taliban pays the US $2M in compensation for the US citizen losses.

  38. Ironically while I was reading this from @Nutter I found an old screenshot from 2016 of when huge bases were allowed and people were literally allowed to corner off entire corners of the map (shown below when we did it once). In regards to this suggestion though, it's going to be neutral. I know lots of people who are in clans that are some of the most genuinely nice and caring people on the server while I know some that are absolutely toxic and do not care about the rules (self-admitted). Given this, I think this would only increase toxicity on the server and potentially empower clans even more. But, I will keep an open mind and see what others say.
