Cinema Owner - Why does it still exist?

Cinema was cool back when you could actually watch stuff in there. But now, it's quite literally a barren wasteland. The doors are unownable, and only Cinema Owner can base in there.

This leads to a large building in downtown being functionally useless, as Cinema Owner has no function, but non-Cinema Owner's cannot base there. I see two one main solutions to this:

Solution A: Get Rid of the Cinema Owner class, as it is useless, and allow people to normally base in Cinema.

Solution B: Reinstate the Video Player, giving Cinema Owner a reason to live. (I'm not sure why it was originally removed, so if it can be re-added, that'd be good!)

Please let me know on what you think of these fixes!

Edit: Solution B had problems that were posed, Solution A is now the only suggestion option.

Edit Again: Apparently Solution B was fine.

People were putting porn and stupid shit in the cinema, that's why. It's a working process and I'm not sure how long it will be till it comes back but since people can't be mature and its a risk to the lower age group of the server it will remain this way.

edit: for the record this -1 isn't for the reason why you want it back. I think it should be back and something should be done as well I'm just -1'ing it cuz of the reasons why it was taken away.

Then we should just let normal classes base in the cinema and delete the useless Cinema owner class. Deleting  Solution B.

To be honest I think solution B could work out pretty good in certain cases. It should def be a vip class if you are able to play videos, and it should be a higher level like level 35-40. If you were a vip at level 35 or 40 you would be invested in the server enough to not play certain things on it. Also if the cinema owner job had a blacklist that you would get added to if you played something inappropriate that could work. Also just letting any class base there would be cool.

A gmod update about 15 months ago broke the cinema plugin we had. We haven't been able to fix it since then, although we havent put too much time into fixing it.

 

 

Ideally the cinema makes a return soon and there would be no need to remove the class.

Cinema owners can't "base"

From the Rules: You may not commit any illegal activities   /   Cinema Owners are immune to raids, and muggings. 

the only thing cinema owners can do is play videos on the screen which is now not operational.

This would be a waste because there is a high chance that this will get fixed but the only reason it hasn't is because we are focused on more important things such as MRP and CityRP which needs more attention than a job on a DRP server that affects you in no way shape or form. The only reason you most likely made this post is because me and another staff member had a sit about the fact that you were basing there and us telling you that you cannot which then lead to you complaining and arguing with us for about 5 minutes knowing full well what the rules are for cinema owner. Read the MOTD and base somewhere else. Simple

That's exactly the reason I made this post, actually. As of right now, there's physically no reason for Cinema Owner to exist or for that building to be locked off only to Cinema Owner. Calling me trying to explain why I based there "complaining and crying" comes of as really douche-y, by the way. The rules are outdated on Cinema Owner, which is why I put this suggestion. I probably wouldn't have made this suggestion if you guys didn't make a big deal out of my base there, but I appreciate it! Now more attention will come to this topic.

I think solution B would be best (to reinstate the video player). I remember the good old days when it worked!

However I do also understand and agree that certain people aren't respectful / trustworthy enough to play decent videos. So like aidanpoppas123 said, maybe make the cinema owner start at a much higher level (40+) so that they are invested enough in the server to be decent?

And I saw the post that the player isn't working, I don't know myself. But I'm sure with the community here there's enough minds to make it work again?

Didn't read the post, just the title. It still exists for the same reason as the DJ class - because i'm waiting for Garry's Mod to merge into Chromium as its main branch so both classes can be used as they were in the past.

Your suggestion is being denied as garnet stated he is waiting on chromium so we have no current plans on changing the class.
