Abrupt & Random Crashes

Optimization

Hey guys, so I came to find out the crashes were a result of Facepunch Studio's mess up in the latest Garry's Mod update (or attempt to handle certain issues in the engine different) which backfired - we were not the only server affected, but other servers who have been up longer have taken preventative measures (SWRP has only been up for 4 days, so I was not familiar with the issue, rip)

With all that being said, the set-up of our starwarsRP server was very representing of that of a new server in the sense that I added alot of effects to the server and was very skimp-ish with optimization in favor of making the server look good, because we're not hitting 100 players and I thought we can make that sacrifice. Welp, this set us back and encouraged client crashes, so I had gone ahead and gotten rid of any effects/UI elements that may have contributed to this crash, it also looks like Robotboy, a developer for Garry's Mod, is well-aware of the issue and has fixed it in the dev branch of Garry's Mod which you may utilize if your crashing persists although I anticipate for it to have gone down.

Spacecraft Operations NPC

This NPC can now be utilized to spawn yourself a ship, granted, you are at the correct job to utilize it

Unfortunately with the way this panel was made, there is way to restrict jobs out of the panel, however, there's no way to restrict what ships they spawn in - so until this is fixed, I warn you that logs are very simple to keep track of, and spawning in a ship that does not belong to your class will result in a FailRP BAN and an indefinite blacklist from the respective class or any classes that can utilize aircrafts as a matter of fact.

PS

There is a hard limit on a limit of 5 ships being spawned at a time as to ease up on server and client lag, as our community grows, this limit may shrink further. No, 91st will not have a mass speeders convention, contrary to what @Phantom says.

Andy went too hard on their hitboxes and broke them, so they were removed

Ammo Dispensers

These entities have been dispersed around the map, once the server grows a bit, I will set a hard-cap on the maximum amount of ammo as well as cooldowns, but for now, enjoy it unlimitedly for free.

 

 

 

Bacta Grenade & Injector

This item has been removed from our server due to its poor coding as well as lack of optimization. Re-optimizing the tool would've just ended up in me entirely re-creating it, but I decided to instaed swap out all Medic classes to simply utilize the DarkRP medic kit which many larger communities in the SWRP categories utilize as I've come to find out. If the implementation of this tool for medics is now well accepted, we may look for other solutions, but I don't see anything going wrong with it, so long as people stop pretending their rambo and take gameplay more slowly. (cough at every event with 30 people rushing the front lines only to get mowed down by NPCs in seconds & relying on the spam of bactas)

Roll

Chat command /roll added

Reworked to display in chat instead of console

As with all other global chat features, spamming /roll in the same way it was spammed when it was restricted to console will result in punishment!

I genuinely don't know what it is with spamming interactive commands and thinking it's okay

HUD Notifications

Added as to replace the current chat advertisement system we use which rarely get updated and clutter up chat

I feel as though this may be a nicer way  to get players familiar with our features, allowing for more frequent notifications without the drawback of chat clutter.

Donator Weapons

Stats modified to be on-par with non-donator variants in damage/recoil/accuracy

2nd Airborne Company

All primaries replaced with the DC15S

Set Job

This command will no longer echo to chat as to prevent players from knowing what event is upcoming - yes, you can still utilize the scoreboard to spoil events if you must.

Job Spawns

All spawns have been attempted to be fixed, yet again(?) not sure what's up with the map and setting spawn positions, but oh well.

Arrest Positions

Fixed - enjoy arresting people

This looks great, battalions will now have access to some damn medics. As far as the DRP-based medkit, shouldn't stand for a problem. However, how would we go about receiving ammunition? The DRP medkit doesn't supply ammo unfortunately.

Yes, I will make sure that this does not happen, as much as it would be hilarious, my game will crash if we have more than 3 maybe 4 vehicles
