At first you were very mingy and messed with me and everyone else a lot but overall you were a really cool person. You tried to keep me in the loop with all the drama in the community as I was still relatively new to the server and I didnt really know jack shit. Also told me stuff about GB and other factions that I probably wasnt supposed to know but its alright. Overall a really cool person. @Flak - Also first met you in GB and kept playing with you a little after we both left the server in 2018. I know we did have our fair share of arguments but I love to reminisce on the times we did share together. Also i thank you because you were the person that brought me back to the community and I can't thank you enough because its been really fun and refreshing to play a different game and talk to different people rather than the same 3 irl friends all day. I know we have been a little toxic towards each other but I hope we can look at it as banter and stay friends. @Lark - So when I first heard about you and talked to you I was put into the mindset that you were an annoying little shit. And while that isnt entirely wrong and im also an annoying little shit I was wrong to think of you like that. Overall when you're not being toxic you can be a really chill and cool person to hang out with. Also probably the best bed wars player. @Jake - Yet another person I first met in GB. Well I know you and many others at first back in 2018 didnt like me because I was an immature little shit. I know we havent always seen eye to eye but overall you are still to this day someone I sorta see as a mentor as you were one of the first people to be in charge of me. You are funny, chill, and very intellectual on certain topics. Honestly keep doing what you're doing with the RP stuff you've been doing you are great and I hope to see more. Cheers @Uncle Burger - Hey man. We havent talked in a while but I still see you as one of the greatest mentors i've ever had on the server. You along with some of the other names I mentioned helped try to forge me into a better leader and person on the server. And while my first run with GB didnt end well I still thank you for everything you did. You are legit one of the most chill people I think ive every played with ever and you are just amazing. Hope everything is going good irl and server wise. Hopefully I got everyone but if i didnt either i genuinely forgot or you arnt important to me (not trying to be toxic). I might be a bit quiet for the next few days had my family take Yuki to go through spinal surgery because she's been hyperventilating in pain for 3-4 days now, and cannot use he back legs. Tomorrow, Friday, 5/15/2020, I will be hosting a meeting for all currently active Shock members. In this meeting we will mainly be discussing our new docs made by @Alex Conway, and how to use them. Along with this we will be discussing activity, roles, and any other questions or concerns you may have. If you do not already have the Coruscant Guard channel password PM me in game and I will give it to you, or it can be found on our previous Docs. The meeting will be at 7PM EST, or 4 PM PST. It is highly suggested you attend, but not mandatory. If you cannot make it please notify me and I will find time to get you set up personally. I am hopefully this meeting will not go over twenty minutes, but we will play it by ear.

Jus wanna get to the point, as I rarely do these but i'm in my feels so yuh @Lark We joined Rangers together on Echo under some Shrimp tryouts that lasted 3 hours. It was insane but we did it, we had a blast in rangers and continued to play together. Hell, we even left Rangers together and went to GB to work on pure war-skill. I felt like we were super close on echo, but near the end of our GB time, we kind of drifted into two-seperate groups of people and suddenly dislike each other because of it. I hate that it happened because as serious as I get, it was a blast to act like idiots together and run around on Echo doing stupid shit. No matter how much shit we have between us now, I still tell people how much I appreciated having someone as passionate as you to pass alongside me in Rangers. Shit was fun, I really really want you to do good for the community and put that passion in the right place. @Jake After I left Rangers for a brief time we had some stuff between us. Whether it was fair, or not, doesn't really matter. As now, I love talking to you about Operation ideas, RP Event ideas, & anything of that nature. Even though you were only LtCol while I was in Rangers, you were essentially the COL. When you were on, you made an effort to work with us and teach us how to hold ourselves to a higher standard. As much as I think you can be a stubborn dick sometimes, you're an amazing person who has a genuine passion to create something better for the factions you join. Thanks for that bro. @AwesomeAidan As a person, you're an amazing guy. You're one of the few leaders on the server I can just completely say anything around without getting upset. You go along with all of my shitty jokes and bits, and it actually makes me laugh so fucking hard. I think you have super good intentions and you've shown nothing but a good drive to make the server better. When you received feedback at the community meeting, you took it like a champ and made an effort to fix any mistakes you made/were making. @D_Rose I don't talk to you a ton anymore, but fucking around late at night on tinychat was such a fun thing to do lmao. Sounds dumb, but that's when I got to really know you. I've helped you a few times when things were low for you, gave you some advice, if i've met anyone thats been just an all-around nice guy on the server, it's you. You always make a good effort to make people laugh and have a good time, so props to you man. @Inca You're normally the person I go to when I have questions about anything community-based. I have a trust for you cause I know you say everything how it is, not how I might want to hear it. You always give honest feedback and you know how to state problems but follow up with an actual solution. Thanks for all the advice, it's actually helped out a lot. @Aries Mitsuri, as much as I clashed heads with your leadership, I thank you a LOT for the Officer position in MARSOC. It gave me the push to actually introduce regular-operations and big-scale events to the Main Server. I know I was inactive with work, and school clashing into Leadership, but I hope you know I wanted nothing but the best for you and Lala. I like to think we have no beef, but if we do, I apologize for anything I may have miscommunicated while under your lead. Your leadership was a fun one, and I gained so much from it. Thank you a lot. @Topshot1 I just want to apologize for anything that happened between us. I had a genuine hate and dislike people who I thought wanted nothing but to push their ideas onto others no matter what. I thought you wanted nothing but the worst for the server. I haven't really gotten to know you, and I still don't know if you truly changed. But I just want to say sorry for anything that happened between us, as I can see you just want to make the people in your friend-group have a good time. To them, you must be a super good friend. Whether the shit I gave you was deserved or not, I could care less, just keep pushing and show everyone if you changed or not. There's a lot more, but I just wanted to use this as a way to apologize to a select few and tell a small amount of people how much y'all have done for me. Glad to see the community is moving in a positive direction.

@AwesomeAidan My start in GB once you took over was actually pretty fun for the start of it. Honestly you are good at taking jokes and were funny to just joke around with. @SecretkillaWe first met when you were in 2GA, and I had to try so hard to get you into GRU. You are now one of my closest friends. @VBSA You being marshal on Echo was the best thing going for the sever at the time, you always bringing loads of 2GA to all of SOC's tryouts. My all time favorite marshal and maybe one of my favorite people. @Larry_The_Potato Being in GRU with you is still one of my best memories. Kidnapping people as Bush men and playing easy street as we went to Objectives was some heat (When we gonna finish playing dying light?) @Valor @Valor1 Really sad you had to quit. Hearing you get high and rant in TS about crouching 11B was honestly the funniest shit ever. Miss you man. @D_Rose Don't really speak much anymore. You have a good heart and never changed even after getting manager always sticking to your guns. I have a lot of respect for you and can't wait to see what you do next. @Homast When we used to chill in GB TS together you were always a nice dude, never knew you before but honestly I've grown to like you. Never being toxic and just being a down to earth dude, hope seals finds you well. @Jake Know we aren't on the best terms but I'll say it anyways. When you aren't getting mad at models you are a stand up guy. You always tried your hardest on whatever you did and I really enjoyed my time speaking with you on US. In-game name: Chewy Age: 37 Why am I qualified? I worked in K-12 (education) for 11 years, taught middle school for 4 of that. I've seen and survived the worst that puberty has to offer and how to manage those effected by it (teachers and students). I was in charge of staff training and education for several years, as well as creating policies and procedures whenever needed. I've handled hiring and scheduling for my departments in the past. Been a sysadmin for nearly 15 years, and in software development for 3. I'm very familiar with software and game mods in general, as well as how integrations and configurations can be done to help drive the community and staff forward. I've been playing multiplayer FPS games since Goldeneye on the N64, and on Steam since the days of DoD (Day of Defeat, for those not in the know). I've been a ranked tournament player in the days when those were still a thing, so I get the competitive aspect and how it effects behavior and how much a player enjoys their experience. Aside from the professional aspect, I've been playing Rust since just before the Alpha ended and have been playing it almost exclusively for the last couple of years. I've played on over a hundred different servers of all types (modded, community, vanilla, official) and gotten a pretty good feel for what qualities staff need to have in order to be successful and not hate their responsibilities. Rust is often an incredibly toxic community and if you start to enforce any sort of rules or behavioral expectations on players, you have to be ready to become a target for them. Staff/mods need someone who knows what they're dealing with, knows the struggle, and is always available to support them in many capacities. I haven't been in the Garnet community for long (I think I'm at around 2 months now?), but I have around 600-800 hours played on the 2x, 5x, and 1000x. I'm definitely the most hated mod on the 1000x, which I expected to happen as soon as rules started to be enforced. I've gotten a lot of support from players at the same time though, so I think we're finally making some progress on the 1000x as far as player interactions go. I want to expand that progress into all the other aspects of gameplay on the other Garnet servers, which will eventually build trust in staff and trust in the quality of gameplay we can offer. It all starts at the top, and I want to be the one helping pull the community and servers forward.

How do I make money? - Currently printer farming is the main way. You can also complete hits, do delivery jobs (type /delivery to begin the job) arrest players as PD members, Mug players, raid others for printers (I'll get more into this later), Sell guns, Sell drugs, Sell drinks, be a hobo and beg, make meth, bank raid when cops are on. I wanna be staff, how do I become one? - First meet minimum requirements of 24 hours (do /playtime name in game for exact time), 13 years of age unless given permission, and following the format here (https://garnetgaming.net/forums/index.php?/topic/3431-format-staff-applications/) create an application here (https://garnetgaming.net/forums/index.php?/darkrp/applications). You could also buy VIP mod. You're still expected to staff/be trained if you do, and can be demoted. How do I change jobs? - Press F4, click on a job you have unlocked you wanna play, and click How do I contact staff? - We don't respond to @ chat like many servers. Type /report in chat to place a report. If you aren't sure who, choose your own name. How do I buy doors? - Press F2 while looking at it. Press F2 again while owning it to access door settings. Where do I buy ammo? - In the F4 menu. What is STD medication for? - If you are raped you will slowly take damage. Buy and take one of these to stop the damage from killing you. Why are some textures errors, pink/black squares, or otherwise missing? - You don't have CSS(Counter Strike Source) textures. You either need to mount CSS textures or download them separately. This will reset it, and should fix any issue without having to rejoin. I bought a blood change from the store, how do I use it? - Type donationblood in console. It will open a small menu. We DO NOT have fearRP on this server. (FearRP is essentially as an example in most instances if you feel threatened, and acting against them in most cases killing them). We also have changed mugging recently. The rule goes players under level 10 can't be mugged, and you may mug someone 100 times there level. Ex - level 63 = 6,300 I'd also highly recommend taking pictures in events when you think a rule is broken. Take a pic using f5 or f12. To access it in game press shift tab and open the steam overlay. Go to screenshots and find the ones you need, upload them, and view them to grab the link at the top. - DarkRP Map W/locations and commonly used terms - A top down view of the entire DarkRP map, and general terms people use for different locations. - Commands you may need to use - /playtime name - Displays your in game playtime /quickwant - While looking at a player it quickwants them /wanted playername reason - wants a specific player for a specific reason /warrant playername reason - warrants a player for access to the base /id playername - Gives the players steamID. You can also get it by just typing /id while looking at them /delivery - When playing the delivery job to activate it. Look for the delivery text /placehit - Opens the hit menu to place a hit /hit - Opens the hit menu to accept or view current hits as a hitman /dropmoney amount - Drops a desired amount of money /drop - Drops a weapon or tool you are currently holding to be picked up /give amount - Gives the player you are currently looking at a desired amount of money /report - Opens up the report menu in the event someone is breaking a rule. /warnmenu - Opens up the warn menu to check your current warnings /unbox - Opens the unbox menu to buy unbox items /donate - Opens the donation menu that displays active donation item and provides a link - Console commands for the new - You should be able to open console by pressing the tilde button (~ under escape). If not, go to the main menu settings in Gmod, click advanced settings, and enable developer console. - Binding a key - Need to bind an advert for mugging, or raid? Wanna add an act command or auto buy button? All you need to do is open console and type a command like some of the examples below. Example - bind key "say /advert mug drop 5k in 10 sec" bind key "act laugh" bind key "say /buy cocaine" etc... unbind key (this unbinds the key if ya couldn't guess) - Useful binds - Some basic binds for GarnetGaming DarkRP. Example - bind key "say /advert raid" bind key "say /delivery" bind key "say /advert mug drop 5k in 10 secs or die. bind key "say /advert steal" bind key "say /advert Assist raid" bind key "say /advert Over" bind key "say /advert False" bind key "say /drop" - Do this while holding a weapon or item to drop it with a press of a button bind key "say /advert counter" - Raiding/Basing on Garnet - It's a risky affair, but the most worthwhile (at least in money and XP) one to go after. As a new player here's some tips/info. - Raiding - As much as it sucks, don't raid bases that look well defended. You don't stand a chance. Many fading doors, well built, etc... means they most likely belong to more veteran players. I guarantee that they will kill you as they do even heavily armed raiders. Look for weaker defended bases. Bases not as well built, less fading doors, less guards, weaker weapons, less people around, etc. Goal is to steal printers from bases. Anything else is mainly a bonus, unless you are going for something like weapons, or kill the mayor. Raiding in groups is always a better option. You can break keypads with 2+ people, hold down large groups, ambush, pick/defend at the same time. All around a good option. Pay hitmen, bots, or medics to assist and help take out targets/heal while you're raiding while assisting raids. - Basing - When done building, weld all the props together to prevent police from breaking apart your base, or getting in easier. Double stack fading doors to prevent lock picking, and help slow down the police. Block the top of your fading doors. Helps to prevent explosives from being thrown in/restricts movement of raider further. Make sure printers can't be seen. This includes having them near fading doors. You could try getting with a more veteran player to have better chances as well. Reverse keypads. Say you have 2 doors right next to each other, and the keypads are right next to each other as well. Merely switch placement to slow them down. Still next to the door, but makes it harder to raid if you don't know. You can have up to 4 fading doors, and 2 buttons to make some very well defended bases. Make sure to use them to the fullest. A decently built base can be defended with as little as a pistol. You can make the doors as tight as you want as long as they aren't stuck. When you get more money you can try buying printers from other players, or selling yours for cash. When basing as a meth dealer base close to a meth addict to sell it quickly. If you want a less likely chance of being raided stray to the bases a bit farther out of the way. (Personal note: Insert video of basic base building here later/fix some things) - Act commands - Ever seen someone dance or laugh? They were doing act commands. To do these open console and type the following messages below into the window. Example - act agree - Your character does a simple thumbs up. act becon - Your character does a beckoning hand gesture. act bow - Your character does a simple 45° bow. act cheer - Your character waves their hands around in the air. act dance - Your character does a slow, circular dance. act disagree - Your character does a hand gesture meaning, "no". act forward - Your character points forward. act group - Your character does a gesture telling everyone to get together. act halt - Your character slightly raises their hand. act laugh - Your character laughs. Quite self-explanatory by the title. act muscle - Your character flexes their muscles. act pers - Your character makes a pose which expresses shock. act robot - Your character makes robotic, slow movement. act salute - Your character, well, salutes. act wave - Your character waves. act zombie - Your characters arms swing up into the air and flop straight down.
