  1. Description: Utilizing the /squad command that currently exists, give each side a combined SOC squad for any member of US SOC to use in combination. This would also be added for Taliban. Me and the rest of USSOCOM are heavily pushing for more squad activities and peacetime RP events, and it would be awesome to have dedicated squads for us to be able to identify each other, also being able to use squad chat. Reasoning: This would give SOCOM a place to combine and would improve our operations and effectiveness, as well as our teamwork. All of these qualities would improve the overall community atmosphere of SOCOM, and would ultimately make people want to join/stay in SOC factions more.
  2. Not sure how well you would do as a staff member if you don't have the ability to read. -1
  3. 1. General Rifles Fire rate/Spread adjustment (SCAR-L for Green Beret) I think that rifles should be the most prioritized change, as they are currently extremely unrewarding to use. Smity did ask for specific weapons, so I would request that the Scar-L have it's fire rate/spread lowered to be more like a rifle and less like an SMG(This should apply to all rifles though) Obviously the damage would have to be lowered which is fine, it's just that currently rifles are not fulfilling the dream of an "accurate mid range weapon" in my opinion. 2. SMGs Fix the fire rate on those outlier SMG's that Smity mentioned. I will edit this post later after looking at the specific guns. I currently don't know the exact numerical values for any of these weapons, so I can't provide exact changes for you.
  4. Denied While you did garner decent community support, your application was a little lackluster in terms of grammar and effort. You missed some of the requirements(before you were told to change them), and your answers to some of the prompts were extremely basic and surface level. It is also very difficult to overcome the fact that you have 14 warns, and I have noticed that your conduct in some events in game does not make it seem like you have a great grasp on RP situations or how they pan out server wide. Feel free to message me to see what to improve on. Please feel free to apply again in 2 weeks (06/27/2022) @Jake Lock and move please.
  5. Currently, rifles are in a pretty bad spot in my opinion. They are majorly outclassed by other guns in many other scenarios, especially with the sniper meta on this map. It would be nice to see a fire rate adjustment as the current recoil of rifles makes them quite unfun to use in war. This is a very surface level change, and you should probably reference other more detailed threads for specific weapon changes.
  6. I am a big proponent of this. I believe it adds way higher stakes to the server, and adds weight to even the most simple decisions. It can set up a lot of natural RP and content for players to explore. At the same time, it adds a good niche between Taliban and US. The Taliban get to live up to their "guerilla warfare" fantasy while the US have to plan accordingly, giving them more opportunities for decision making and leadership. Me and Smity were discussing dry running this ROE change in some GM events in the coming days, to prove it's worth. I hope all of you give it a shot as I believe it can reinvigorate the atmosphere of MRP +1
  7. Accepted Due to outstanding community feedback and a very good grasp on RP, you will make an excellent addition to the GM team I will be training you. Please do not use any commands until you are properly trained. @Jake Lock and move please!
  8. Good job everyone! Saw Rust absolutely pop off this month so well deserved. gm promos where (?)
  9. This is just a small QoL change for GM's, as currently we can't see either US or Tali radio chats while on the 'Gamemaster on Duty' job. This would massively help GM's who act as EC's, as we could communicate with the forces we are trying to cooperate with. Preferably, the suggestion could take the role as a toggleable feature to turn radio chats for either side on and off, or a GM specific job for US and Afghan respectively (ex: /usgm or /afggm, to switch to a specific GM sided tali)
  10. Soldier is one of those titans of GG MRP who has dedicated countless hours to bettering the server. In these hours, he has gained the trust and respect of his peers. As he says in his app, he has been involved in base faction for many years, years in which he has gained valuable experience learning what exactly new players want from MRP. His event ideas sound fun, and his descriptions have a perfect mix of serious and enjoyable that match what the GM team is looking for, along with the idea of these events having consequences. +1
  11. I'm a little disappointed by your conduct in places outside of the server itself, like on discord especially. Some of the things you have said are really unfit for a staff member. While some of this stuff certainly isn't bad per se, it just screams immaturity for me. I do see some glimpses of maturity and good decision making in you, so if you can work on those, you may earn a chance. Stuff like this is just offsetting for me. https://gyazo.com/1e126309ffda6c60a5d90ca80c0d51fc This kind of expectant behavior is also unfitting for a staff member. https://gyazo.com/971124cd44b25199f376dc7e90e17fb4 This was posted in discord right when your last app went up. While its not bad to ask, this just makes you seem impatient, and like you are expecting treatment .https://gyazo.com/d6889325860b4a0b02accd147188206f Don't take any of these grievances personally, as I don't think you are a bad person. I just like to give people specific examples of what they can fix so that they can do the best job possible. Making sure that your conduct is amazing especially while your application is up is the number one thing you can do to boost your chances of getting accepted. Good luck sir. -1
  12. You know, you made a lot of decisions that many people(especially me) may not have agreed with, but it was made apparent at one point or another to me that you did have your interests in making the server a better place, if not a little bit more British. Even though we clashed, I hope the best for you in your future endeavors. glhf!
  13. As the title says. What is your username based on, or what circumstances lead to it? Mine is pretty simple. I needed a new username so 12 year old me decided Turtle with a K would be the funniest shit
  14. Good to see you apply again. The GM team is definitely in need of help so I'm glad to see you put yourself out there again. Couple things I have to say about this app. Your last app was denied in part due to community trust I believe, and I think you have earned at least a try on the GM team. Currently we have Horse on the GM team, who went from being perma'd to US GA and Senior Gamemaster, so I am 100 percent okay with giving second chances. The fact that you reapplied shows your dedication and I think it's an admirable trait. I really like the event idea you presented before this, but affecting war with events is not something that management is interested in currently. However, I'm still really happy you considered this point, meaning you are thinking of the implications of your events. I like the event idea, but this is worded really weirdly, like how you said "we need to go there" twice. Although this isn't really a formal job application, it's still nice to fix these small errors. This event is good, but maybe you want to expand a little bit more on the part after the Nuke is captured. Obviously capturing a Nuke is an extremely big deal, so you want to make people feel like capturing it has a big impact on the event atmosphere. Your event ideas are pretty good, but you might want to add a little bit more detail to each to give the people playing in the event some "lore." This is a big stickler. This paragraph is really poorly written, and I think it could benefit from a little bit more meat. I would need to see this edited before I would be okay with +1ing the app(you are so close) Also, if you get accepted, we will hold you to this. I've seen hundreds of applications, and about 50 percent of them say something about "being on early in the morning or late at night." But magically, when we get to those times, none of the people who wrote those apps are online. All in all, I will keep this neutral until you fix up your paragraphs, and especially some of the grammar and punctuation in them. Once I see some good edits, I would be glad to welcome you to the GM team. Neutral for now.

  16. All these bridges are making me foam at the mouth, solely for the event ideas... Looks good Garfield!
  17. You certainly have a contentious history on the DRP side of things, and there are many people who have strong opinions about you. The negative taste of that DRP incident is still in many people's mouths. I think that you could do well with some more time in the community. I haven't seen much RP from you in game yet, s it might be wise to try and create RP in game without Gamemasters, and even reach out to current GM's and try to plan an event with them. Since you need to gain the trust of the community first, this is probably the best bet. EDIT: Event ideas: I don't think any of these are weak, but nothing about them truly stands out from any others I've seen. One of the things we are looking for in a GM application is an X-factor that really sets you apart from the rest of the server in terms of creativity or RP. An example of a suboptimal event script would go something like this: "The US army goes to AA and extracts a chemical and they must fight off enemies until they evacuate" This event, while it can be executed properly, gives no higher incentive for players other than just shooting NPC's and doing "/me picks up chemical." Maybe add a danger factor, or maybe make them equip gas masks, add an event character. I'm not saying any events of your were this basic, but if you want to overcome the negative stigma surrounding yourself, you need to convince us with overwhelming evidence that you are a capable RPer and trustworthy enough to receive GM, and you can start by doing that with your RP in game and your event ideas. Neutral
  18. Comms. created so many late night memories there, and will never forget all the great times
  19. I believe that giving players some sort of reward for grinding resource gathering is a good idea, as instead of just AFKing, players can do something with their time. A couple criteria need to be filled I believe 1. The grind must be rewarding 2. Players who don't grind shouldn't be punished too hard (not everyone can play for 14 hours a day, some people only play weekends) 3. The resource gathering should not distract from the main gameplay of MRP, instead adding to it. I believe the three methods of resource gathering should be: Logging, Mining, and Foraging. Logging and mining for gun parts and materials, and foraging for items to make drugs Each base should have a workshop, or maybe make the workshop a neutral zone in the map that can be skirmished over. Another idea is that workshops have to be maintained by players, at a price of maybe wood and metal. This can give the system a bit of military structure (Example: Lt Bob orders a fireteam lead by SSgt Dan to go secure materials to keep the bases' workshop working. Perhaps have the structure of the base be harmed if enough materials aren't farmed to upkeep it (holes form in the base walls if there is not enough materials) Most of these ideas might involve tight rope balancing acts to keep it fair and playable, but I think this content has massive potential to increase player retention and give a sense of accomplishment for players.
  20. Lets go Garnet this is an utmost exquisite update! Conquest has always been my favorite game mode since the BF4 days, and the factory cap zone really needed some work, as it ignored the open building area where I think factory combat is at it's best. Sorry for the people that sometimes make you feel like it isn't worth working on MRP. I and others really appreciate the hard work! EDIT***: I've found that XP rewards are not given for Conquest, either winning or capping. Are you aware/ Is this intentional?
  21. It's a really cool idea, but I think it's important to limit it somehow, maybe with a cooldown or a rank requirement. While I think it would add a much needed allure to T1 factions, it also has the potential to be really oppressive for other players as well. +1 With limitations.
  22. In-game name:Tali RAC SFC Cute Age: 18 SteamID (https://steamid.io/): STEAM_0:1:37333765 Warns: 4 Timezone: EST Playtime? (Paste your /playtime [Name]): STEAM_0:1:37333765 Do you have access to TeamSpeak and a microphone?: Yes Do you have the ability to record Garry's Mod videos?: Yes Referral(s): [What Gamemaster recommended you to apply?] NDB, Horse, Fetn, Statiic Past experiences as a Game Master: I was a GM previously on GG MRP last year for roughly 7 months. Why should we choose you over other applicants? My proximity to the GM team and the server: Firstly, I have held the GM position before. I believe my ability to create enjoyable RP events for everyone is very apparent, especially when you ask people who have participated in them. I know the people on the GM team decently well, and I believe I would work with them excellently as a team. I have seen many iterations of the GM system and would love to help offer solutions towards creating a more perfect system. I have been staff on MRP before, as well as many other servers, leading to a large knowledge base on many staffing and GM tools, which would allow me to utilize them to their utmost ability. I understand the importance of preventing the abuse of these tools, and recognize the consequences as well. I know exactly when to flip the switch between joking around and being serious, and I think I can strike a proper balance to make events truly entertaining for the people in them. Me as a player: One of my qualities which I believe is most important is my tendency to want to improve as much as I can. I constantly look back at my actions and wonder if I could have handled them better. Going along with this, I believe taking feedback is massively important, and is something I have always been okay with. If a GM can’t take feedback seriously on their events, they have no place being in any position of power over other people’s enjoyment of the server. The importance I place on this as a GM is of the highest standard. I invest myself in real world situations, and would provide informative and fun events, while delivering players storylines of battles they may have never heard of. I am always an enlisted advocate, and believe that I can host events that will cater towards both what newer enlisted want, and more experienced players want. In the past on MRP, there has always been a discussion on whether RP or OOC events are more wanted. Due to my immense experience, I can easily provide either of these depending on what the server feels is necessary(although I prefer doing RP most of the time). While I often give players events that emphasize free choices, sometimes players don't really care that much. In that case, I can redefine the events, and make them easy for anyone, even if they aren't invested in the RP. Have you ever been banned or punished on any server? If so, Include details: N/A How much time do you have to contribute to the role?: Almost every day after school from 3 PM to 12 AM EST. In your own words, what are the responsibilities of a Gamemaster?: A Gamemasters job is to provide enjoyable RP experiences for all players, by adding a nuanced type of content that cant easily be replicated in any other game, and giving the atmosphere of MRP a more militaristic feel. Describe how you would contribute to RP as a part of the Gamemaster team: I would contribute to the overall RP atmosphere of the server by hosting entry level RP events, as well as RP trainings that give new players a sense of RP, as well as increasing the sense of specialization in RP events(IE players having special roles within RP events instead of just shooting NPCS.) My events rely strongly on player choice, and as you will see below, the specifics of my event can change completely based on how players react to it. Please list and explain 5 unique event ideas designed for only your side to take part in: [Be sure to include any additional context that may be necessary to your explanation] Operation Mud and Blood- A scientist in charge of creating bioweapons has unknowingly released a deadly toxin into the AA area. In order to clear the toxin, players must suit up into special hazmat suits and destroy chemical barrels. Meanwhile, a PMC group catches wind of the chemical leak and decides to collect the material and sell it to foreign contacts for weapons. The players of the event must defeat the PMC group and clear the toxins or else both will take over and kill them. Operation Hole in the Wall- A rogue Taliban insurgent holes up in a building with explosives, demanding money and free passage out or he will explode the building. This event can end in a few different ways - They breach the building, kill the insurgent and disarm the bomb - Talk to the soldier in RP and calm him down If they RP properly, they will be able to learn that the insurgent was contracted by the US to blow a building up, which can lead to further missions. One of which is listed below. Operation Snake Eye- The insurgent, assuming he is still alive, will meet up with US operatives again to negotiate another attack on the Taliban. If RPd properly, the Taliban operatives will kill or take the US hostage, and try to extract information out of him. The Taliban must hold off waves of US operatives (NPCS), in order to get the information. This information will tell of a US detachment in the Cons area. After clearing it, they can choose to tell the actual US of the illegal operation that was happening there. Operation Special Delivery- A routine weapons deal goes awry when illegal stowaways are captured in the trucks. The Taliban on scene must capture the stowaways and learn of their origins. This will lead them on a paper trail to a secret bunker tasked with infiltrating the armies of Tali and US and learning their secrets. They can either conscript the group to work against the US for information, or wipe them off the map. Operation Combover- Catching wind of a highly advanced operations cell in the area, the Taliban must dispatch patrol units and comb through the entire map. Upon spotting it, they must not be seen by the cell, and should dispatch their forces. If the cell is not cleared within a certain number of seconds, they will escape and the Taliban receive nothing. If they clear it in time, they will be able to discover hard drives of info on future developments. giving them tactical advantages in future fights. Please list and explain 3 unique global event idea designed for the entire server to take part in: [Be sure to include any additional context that may be necessary to your explanation] Operation Cold Winter- As a result of the halt of the war in Ukraine, Russian contacts are looking to spread their influence globally by inciting panics between powers like the one here. The Russian contact and his troop will establish a FOB available for anyone to visit. The arrival of the contact will be followed by increased clashes in the area between local forces and contracted military personnel who aren’t Russian. The US and Tali must form a truce in order to investigate the disturbance caused by the Contact. This can end in a few different ways. - US and Tali cooperate and drive the Contact out in a bloody confrontation, but the Russians have a bitter taste in their mouth, and may be more hostile towards both factions in the future. - The US betray Tali, and attempt to reason with the Russian, causing the RU and US to have a good relationship, and the Tali get overwhelmed. - Tali gains the favor of the Russian, and attempts to ambush the US and weaken their supply lines. Each of these endings(and more secret endings) will be impacted by each faction’s relationship with the contact (If they do tasks and are friendly, they are more likely to get help) Operation Exile: A disgraced US soldier comes to the Taliban looking for help to get revenge on the US. He is willing to leak information to the Tali in exchange for protection. This event can end prematurely if he is killed, so trust is super important. The soldier becomes a puppet of the Tali, and they can have him act in whichever way they choose. Players effectively have unlimited choice in this event, but some examples of the scenarios may be: - The soldier acts as a spy, and feeds info to the Tali. - The soldier can convert to Islam, and become a martyr for their cause. - The soldier is not treated well by Tali, and turns back to the US. - The soldier can set up a rescue mission turned ambush. Operation Meddy Beddy: A religious figure of the Taliban is gravely injured, and the Taliban do not have the facilities to heal him. They take him to a local hospital and must negotiate with the US to have him healed properly. - The US can see this as a point of leverage, and take advantage of the poor state of the Taliban. - The Taliban are willing to sacrifice themselves for the leader, and will do whatever it takes to get him healed, going as far as to take the hospital workers hostage.
  23. I meant this more to mean that they should keep a written log of reserves and their changes, not remember them individually. It is the staff's job to keep a log, and if they can't do it by memory, they should write it down. My argument is that faction leaders should have agency over whether their enlisted are doing a good job as enlisted. If a player uses whitelists as a way to spawn vehicles or create scenarios which require O-1 Perms, I would say that is an amazing use of the reserves system. I think this is where our disagreement lies, in the use of the system itself. I would think that this is because the requests usually speak for themselves. If not, then I think faction leaders should be urged to plead their case. This post was mostly meant for clarification on my points. I don't want to argue each point again because I think most of these are just personal disagreements instead of evidence based ones. I encourage other people to chime in on these points as well.
