Community Director Popular Post AlexConway 1,153 Posted March 11, 2020 Community Director Popular Post Share Posted March 11, 2020 (edited) Description: The suggestion is completely simple, adding the handcuffs to Officer/Commander whitelists. The benefits of this are no longer needing to kill people minging or FailRPing as you can punish them via Jail, this would take the place of most Vigilantism and Insta-Whitelist Removal. Removing someones whitelists for the smallest error makes no sense, it's easier and a better form of punishment to force them to sit in jail. This would also make tryouts more professional as well as aiding kidnaps. Misuse of the handcuffs would act similar to the vehicles, misuse will lead to the problem faction's removal. Reasoning: This is more of a QoL, quality of life. The content for the handcuffs is already on the server all it requires is adding handcuffs to job in the config. Additional Information: N/A Someone had suggested adding it to DI/DS/RFR - however I think this would be abused but your opinions on this would be helpful. Additionally abuse could be handled by staff via a warn and a jail via RDA Edited March 11, 2020 by AlexConway 2 1 7 Link to comment
Doof123 54
+1, I think that this would be a useful tool to aid factions in keeping punishment RP friendly and a good way to deter people from breaking RP and faction rules overall. 1 1 Link to comment
PraetorDon 485
+1 There should be a standard set in place for offences however, so people don't get jailed in RP for over 10 minutes (the maximum time a jail for would last if a sit took place). There could be an exception for kidnaps however. I also agree that RFR's/DI's/DS's do not get this privilege. 2 1 Link to comment
Rem_Paki 23
+1 Officer should have had this a long time ago, and I agree with Don there should be a slandered time set. Good suggestion. NO to DI DS and RFR this should be an officer power Edited March 12, 2020 by Rem_Paki 1 1 Link to comment
Cold Soldier 184
+1 I agree with everything in the post, with the exception of giving it to DI/DS/RFR. If we give it to enlisted, then it could be similar to the problem with MP and will most likely be abused. 1 1 Link to comment
WhiteBolt 33
+1 I do believe this would come in handy for officers. Thought the need for other punishments like demotion would still be necessary. It would also be good in RP situations like kidnapping. There would be rules for mis use of handcuffs. But the idea of is great and have many good uses. i also agree with don on the fact that anything below officer should not have handcuffs. It’s quite easy to get the RFR/DI/DS whitelist. It’s inevitable someone with that whitelist would mis use handcuffs. Edited March 12, 2020 by WhiteBolt 1 Link to comment
MRPAce 20
+1 Would love to see it, would make kidnap scenarios much more interesting, and prevent people from running. Edited April 1, 2020 by Nikolai Link to comment
KernelPanic-Gamma 0
+1 While a short clinic on how to (and when to ) appropriately use the handcuffs may be necessary just to educate officers, this may cut down on the number of "Should i get a Staff Member involved?" thoughts and messages. Maybe we can implement a system where a person can only be jailed a certain number of times before staff gets involved and enforces a stricter punishment (ie. Kicking them so they have to wait and suffer through the long-ass loading screen, or banning) Link to comment

Gamma 303
+1 I feel cuffs would be useful for trainings and DB but personally not for tryouts. It's easier just to tell he person to leave than to cuff them and walk them out. But I do think there are many uses for the cuffs but make sure they aren't cuffs that people can spam e to break out or if they do just make it impossible to break out. Link to comment
