So this is just a PSA for all Garnet members including the big man himself @Garnet

Communication is one of the most important things on a server like this. Whether it be between management or between factions. Communication is something that we can never have enough of and it seems like the past year has lacked a lot of it. After the community meeting a couple of days ago and the "surprise" meeting we had in the GB channel last night, it is clear that we need more communication. I am going to be setting up a schedule for factions meetings, country meetings, community meetings, and staff meetings. The end goal is to make it so where we still host these meetings, but they are as short as possible. To be able to keep up a consistently great community we need to always be communicating, otherwise, we will fall right back into the pit of toxicity. Below is info about each meeting and when they will be scheduled. This month will not follow the normal format of meetings as we are already almost halfway into the month. Faction Meetings This is something which i would not be setting up myself, more enforcing faction leaders to set up In the next country wide meeting, i will be speaking to faction leaders to try and set up weekly meetings within there own faction Topics of Discussion: Behavior, Involvement with faction activities, and anything which is faction specific Country Meetings These meetings will be for all factions of one side They will be country specific, meaning if you are not apart of that country, you can not attend unless given permission by management These meetings will happen monthly. One for US and one for RU. The US meeting will be the 1st Wednesday of every month and the RU meeting will be every 3rd Wednesday Topics of Discussion: SOC involvement with base factions, an outside POV on different factions, and any country-specific issues MRP Community Meetings These meetings will be for all of SOC and all of the base faction officers on the server Any player who does not fall under these conditions will not be able to attend these meetings They will happen every month on the 4th Saturday. Topics of Discussion: Map problems, Glitches, general server toxicity, and anything else Staff Meetings These meetings will be for all current staff members We will have two staff meetings per month One on the 2nd Saturday and one on the 4th Saturday after the community meeting Topics of Discussion: Rules, Division Details, Staff Involvement, and any other staff-related topic Month of May Schedule Green = Country Meeting Blue = Community Meeting Red = Staff Meeting Every meeting will start at 7 EST | 6 CST | 4 PST Like i said, this month is a bit different from other months as we are mid way through. RU is going to have there first meeting on Wednesday and then US one week after The only reason RU is getting there meeting first is because US already had a makeshift meeting last night in GB channel. Time to make some change!

I've been with the server for a lot of its span. I originally joined back around 2016 and I've always found myself coming back to it whenever I have the time for it. Without sounding cheesy the server holds sentimental value to me, and I treasure the players in it. I personally go out of my way to help new players get adjusted by explaining the best way to start off, and give around 100K to help them get started. I do like raiding and building bases but it's more for my party whether we start farming printers or to just have fun. I was more hooked into this server by the connections and people I've met and as a staff I can take more actions to ensure this is still the safe and fun server I've learned to love. I have a significant playtime and through that time I've learned all the clever ways people minge and exploit rules. From my prior experiences I can use my best judgment to enforce the server rules and help out new people looking for a new server to join. Unlike before, when I was mod, I have a much significant increase of time to put into being a mod. Finishing my junior year of high school, I got a near perfect SAT grade, and finished 3 ap's meaning I now have a lot of free time. If Senior year concerns you, I'm happy to say that I only have one ap class and overall it should be a very stress-free year (as I've taken the liberty to start with college applications right now). Before writing this application I tried to establish myself within the community and found old and new friends. Like before, I've helped out new players and had a great time creating and/or being in groups. In summary, the reason why I would make a great addition to the staff roster is due to my amount of free time, my experience, my name in the community, and overall the fact that I genuinley do enjoy being a staff member. To address the former times I was mod, I was just starting out high school and then some and overall it was very stressful and I had no time after the summer. As of right now I'm well-adjusted and I would be thrilled if I can become a mod once more. Thank you for taking this into consideration Edit: I was asked to tell a bit about myself and how I’d be able to handle sits and act as an overall mod, so I’d love to answer that Personally I try to be as unbiased as possible but I would be lying if o were to say I’m not unbiased. From my past experiences of being mod I had a more bias to people who weren’t screaming or angry. I would never end a sit without hearing both sides, or act purely act out on what I desire. I like to hear both sides of the story and get evidence of needed (in the case of whether or not someone was building and their sign and whatnot). I liked it more when I could talk to the person in a calm and reasonable fashion, since I could find out their mindset and if it was someone who wasn’t aquatinted with the rules I would let them of with a warn (with the other third party agreeing to those terms). I’d say the reason for always trying to find out both sides of the story is not only because I want to keep things professional, but also to me just being a sociable person. I just like talking to people and learning about them. I kept every sit professional but also interesting. I’d say I would provide a calm environment due to my experiences as a mod and overall my personality. All the years playing on garnet helped evaluate the situations from all sides and help understand the situation (whatever it may be) with better understanding. I’d also like to respond to the assumption that I’m only basing with new comers and change it to basing with fun and interesting people I’ve based with Minxx multiple times and AjBedHead and overall just a lot of people. I try to understand the whole community and overall just make sure everyone’s chilling (if that makes sense). But I’m gonna just make this post to very special people that I think made my time at 2GA very special and make me want to get on every day and help out the community.... @VBSA when I started out as being an officer in 2GA you left and joined SSO.I didn’t really get to know you till you have been SSO for awhile. You taught me how to better myself from time to time, I thank you for caring VB daddy @Cold Soldier wow I couldn’t ask for a better leader other than you man. You really know how to lead a faction well and improve on what we have. You take criticism well and you improve yourself as you lead on. As someone who's recently been learning to code and how much of a bitch it is to code I know what the struggle could be, but as a suggestion why not implement an already existing code but modify it to have the AFK issue work? +1, just have an integer with the AFK time set (I.E. When a player despawns due to being AFK due to no input from the game controls) and use that, except replace it to be shorter and set it to like 3-5 minutes of non keyboard input to say something like "This player can't be mugged due to them being AFK for longer than "x" minutes." Actually now that I think about it just give the SWEP to Thieves additionally with this command. If a Hobo can pickpocket then so should a Thief imo. Edit: Removed some shit and fixed up some grammar; if you spot any mistakes let me know because I wrote/typed this when I was very tired...

In-game name: Chewy Age: 37 Why am I qualified? I worked in K-12 (education) for 11 years, taught middle school for 4 of that. I've seen and survived the worst that puberty has to offer and how to manage those effected by it (teachers and students). I was in charge of staff training and education for several years, as well as creating policies and procedures whenever needed. I've handled hiring and scheduling for my departments in the past. Been a sysadmin for nearly 15 years, and in software development for 3. I'm very familiar with software and game mods in general, as well as how integrations and configurations can be done to help drive the community and staff forward. I've been playing multiplayer FPS games since Goldeneye on the N64, and on Steam since the days of DoD (Day of Defeat, for those not in the know). I've been a ranked tournament player in the days when those were still a thing, so I get the competitive aspect and how it effects behavior and how much a player enjoys their experience. Aside from the professional aspect, I've been playing Rust since just before the Alpha ended and have been playing it almost exclusively for the last couple of years. I've played on over a hundred different servers of all types (modded, community, vanilla, official) and gotten a pretty good feel for what qualities staff need to have in order to be successful and not hate their responsibilities. Rust is often an incredibly toxic community and if you start to enforce any sort of rules or behavioral expectations on players, you have to be ready to become a target for them. Staff/mods need someone who knows what they're dealing with, knows the struggle, and is always available to support them in many capacities. I haven't been in the Garnet community for long (I think I'm at around 2 months now?), but I have around 600-800 hours played on the 2x, 5x, and 1000x. I'm definitely the most hated mod on the 1000x, which I expected to happen as soon as rules started to be enforced. I've gotten a lot of support from players at the same time though, so I think we're finally making some progress on the 1000x as far as player interactions go. I want to expand that progress into all the other aspects of gameplay on the other Garnet servers, which will eventually build trust in staff and trust in the quality of gameplay we can offer. It all starts at the top, and I want to be the one helping pull the community and servers forward.
