Solution 1: For Jedi

Have an actual max amount of people per rank in Jedi:
For example too many Padawans? No tryouts till they graduate or people stop being on it. Too many knights? Now they have to wait a little while longer.

An example is there can only be 6 Padawans, and 6 Knights (This is an example) before we can have more people joining the order.

This firstly would then get people to stay either active or be removed rather than waiting 4 months.

How it solves the problem: Rather than some aribitarty time when the people who can host the tryouts eyeball it and go. "Eh, now there is enough to finally do a tryout" So you have a plan rather than relying on the future people if you leave to have one whatever number you decide is enough for you.

Solution 2: Varada

Limit the whitelists for Varada (as in people who can get in similar to jedi idea.) An idea I hate since I'm a Varada main, but since it's such a prevalent issue that people are going Varada. Limit the whitelists instead of giving them 17 in their update only being able to have 6-8. That way people can get on when they need too and have a semi battalion

Solution 3: Varada

Another thing that can be done is to remove certain weapons rather than just give them to a new special class and then replace those lost weapons with more weapons. A single class doesn't need to have a rocket launcher, a flamethrower that can kill most it's in a matter of seconds, a Cycler rifle that can 1 shoot people, a jetpack that has a lot of fuel, a vibroblade, and more. Give them instead westar35, wrist Flame, westar 11

Make it so at most if they have another class they have a base weapon, like a Westar, a sniper, or a Z-2. I don't see the logic behind we have too many people in Varada to do a tryout. Let's give the people in it more to want to be clones. I know this will get hate because well I'm saying to remove peoples fun toys, but they get better shit compared to anyone else in the server in terms of Varada by not even a close call. I'm not trying to be a buzzkill here for Varada as again I main it and enjoy playing on it with these weapons, but if it's that big of an issue. Focus more on clone updates and getting people to go clones rather than risking anything.

I also know these suggestions are a bit shit, but it's really the best I got

Clan Varada getting out of hand is admittedly the fault of Mark (and myself for letting it happen). It was I believe 2 weeks ago when (surprise) Varada mains asked him for a significant buff, and in his brain he thought "people play it, why not incentivize them to play it more" I presume, and he pushed forward a sheet of Varada buffs to me. I kind of pointed fun/mocked the fact that he's effectively created a class with 20 primaries - which a similar situation has already happened with Remake as well in the past, but I also wrongfully assumed the clan is entirely inactive. Fast forward to me getting on the server (non-test server) and seeing that a significant portion of the population is on some of the most stupidly pointless and overpowered classes on the server.

This shit infuriated me, but I try to just chuckle it off. It was brought up with Mark today, he proposed we remove half their equipment (primarily wrist blasters/flames/rocket... jesus) and I figured it was a good start. Ontop of this, I decided to chop down the number of players who can play on the classes. Initiate that was previously unlimited is now hard-capped at 4, and Warrior that was previously capped at 5, is capped at 2. These changes are irreversible and if players leave as a result, I could give two shits less.

My only gripe with your suggestion (while I did happen to have already done most of these changes - IE: nerfing Varada significantly) they did not offer incentives to push more players towards their clone life, but rather revolved around taking away from Jedi/Varada. I would love to know what would be some ways to incentivize somebody to genuinely want to play 21st, as opposed to "settle" for 21st.

I'll ask around that. From what I understand there is several reasons some things you can't change:

501st from what I understand has a very hard because it has a very bad stereotype. (I'll try to see if anyone in there can think of what would get them to get on those lives more often)

212th get 2 tanks which they really enjoy and have Bamz as a commander that people really love.

Zeref and Zeno run 21st and it is getting a lot more popular. UTAT and their TX 225 are popular though lag the server.

Navy: If you want people to be navy I suggest giving them more fire power in terms of being able to use their resources and not being couped up in NCC all event. Have them be able to use this swep it uses stuff you already have and would be good for events.

104th: They are also starting to become active. Want to give them a little more in terms of being a protective battalion. I've seen this mod first hand and it's amazing. Gives them a shield and allows GM's to set one up without needing a dupe.

CG: Is more on the event side with escorting VIPS, but I will ask around there

Navy don't need to be in combat imo. It just doesn't make sense unless an attack has reached the 3rd floor of anaxes or the bridge of venator.
They should be the ones deploying battalions to do the combat in an organized fashion, and facilitating RP through comms.
Instead of getting more weapons, it would be cool for Navy to have something like access to view helmetcams. (basically spectating but it tells the clone that they are being spectated).
That way they are still in NCC or near a holotable, but still able to be informed on battalion positions, and give effective orders etc.

Sidenote, nobody has ever mentioned to me that the TX225 lags the server, I am likely more than capable of optimizing it if I was told in what ways/when it causes lag?

With this nerf on Varada in the slots department, I was wondering if the same could be applied to Jedi? I have seen times where Jedi outnumber the clones in pop during peak which is 😰

That is something that could be done and talked about.

Jedi can outnumber clone batts, that's true, but generally because of the whitelists available and the spread of active Jedi, I'd say you rarely get more than 2 on any Jedi whitelist at one time, so I'm not really sure lowering the slots would do a whole lot in that regard
