I don't believe we have had a ban wipe occur in almost two years now, and being that we're easing up to the end of 2019, I thought this would be an appropriate time to do so. Players who have previously gotten community banned will now have a chance to prove themselves again as it has been quite awhile. The way things will work moving forward is that select members of the staff team will have access to a document I have created titled "Community Banned Users" which would be composed of repeated offenders who will be permanently banned from all Garnet servers via hard-code, and as such, there is no way to unban them unless I specifically go out of my way to edit said ban file. These same users will not be affected by future ban wipes. Reasons to receive permanent community bans include (but not limited to) Malicious Behaviors (Doxing, DDoSing) Continuous Harrassment (Toxic Behavior, Hebephilia - adults of the community flirting with minors) Chargebacks (or other cash-related frauds) With all this being said, I did keep a backup of our previous ban lists for both the DarkRP and MilitaryRP servers if you feel as though someone does not deserve to receive a second chance, inquire this via a forum report or PM to myself. Please do NOT contact me regarding personal matter as I WILL be looking at things subjectively as a server owner. Off note: Our DarkRP server has had its slot machines removed due to an exploit found with them. It was not even worth patching considering how little use the casino received. Server Updates All Garnet servers have been updated with an optimization patch which should improve server performance by 3-5% (EXTREMELY NOTICABLE) under high loads All Garnet servers have been updated with a custom made crash protection addon I have created - this will mostly protect the DarkRP server against crashes by malicious users. Anti Family-Shared Accounts The biggest change being put in place with this update. Family shared accounts were the biggest source of minges repeatedly joining our server, this is done by family sharing the product(game) Garry's Mod with another account of yours, thus being able to play Garry's Mod on a new account for free with a unique steam ID. Moving forward, all users of our server will HAVE to have Garry's Mod purchased in order to join the server, otherwise they will be kicked off immediately! 12 1 1 Quote Link to comment
