State of DarkRP

I was thinking about what discussion topic to choose from when I read this threads info description;  ‘’Anything with reasonable taste. Talk about anything from the current state of the server, to asking for life advice.’’ It then got me thinking, what do you guys think about the current state of the server? I feel like we haven’t had a discussion like that in a while.

 

I’d like people to keep their comments positive and constructive as much as possible. Looking forward to hearing feedback from the community.

It's cool, the server is still fun but it feels like when you play for a long time the only goals you have is items, money and XP, it does not seem like there is any content for long term players. this is also in part of the "old players" not caring about the new jobs, not saying all of them don't have there fun, i personally enjoy these jobs like the clown job for example is a great way to make players have something else to focus on besides money. Dark RP is about making money but having other things to focus on that just money is nice

 

edit: the server is great for new players and would recommend the server if someone wanted to play DRP

I feel like I'm in an entirely different boat compared to other people with "I don't know what to do on the server anymore" considering I'm staff and help run the entire Gamemasters division and my own clan. I still have a shit ton to do and looking forward to new jobs and features is nice. The moral of the story I think the state of the server is pretty damn good for how much Garnet has focused on giving us new content. Next month will definitely showcase this for the  Halloween event .

I mean, seeing as I use this game as a chatroom of sorts I honestly am mostly content with how things are at the moment. Always someone to talk to and goof around with really.

as errol said i also use gmod as a chatroom sometimes

and as schyzo said as a staff it gives me something to do and looking fowards to over stuff is always nice

Seems like it’s mainly just a hangout / chat spot for most regular players. I don’t like or have time to sit in a base farming printers for hours, so other than that and raiding bases that are actually possible to raid there’s not a whole lot to do IMO which is fine. It’s a vanilla server and there can be groups of fun people to run around with at times.

I'm a relatively new but very active player and the initial experience was kind of a mixed bag. I think content-wise everything's great, but I think until you assimilate into the community a bit it feels like there's the "veteran players" group and then everyone else. I understand that this happens with most gaming communities at a certain level, but it definitely felt a little more present on Garnet when I first joined. It can feel discouraging when the only way to try and get more printers for your little starter base is to try and raid a mega compound of 10 VIPs with dono weapons. Everything else has been a lot of fun though, Garnet is the first server I've played regularly on gmod in a long time.
