Description: I recently found out that staff can view PM logs. Meaning, if a player were to send another play a PM, staff can view the PM without the knowledge of the player who sent the PM. This log should not be in the game and should be removed.Reasoning: The reason why PM logs should be removed is because of players' expectation of privacy being breached when sending a PM. PMs are there so players can communicate with each other privately amongst themselves and are expected to be private hence the name "Private Message". Players use PMs often to hand over their discord tags or private information that they do not want other players to be knowledgeable of. Having logs for PMs defeats the whole purpose of having the feature as a whole. This is very scummy and sprouts distrust between the players and staff members of the server. I should not be worried about telling a friend that I'm going AFK, only for a staff member to see the PM and know that I'm AFK and raid me. Players are expected privacy when sending out a PM and having a log for that is fucked up and disappointing. Additional Information: If there is a hidden meaning behind this log, please let the community know. There was no such thing as a PM log when I was staff so an explanation as to why staff have this power would be great.

While I was taking reports fairly frequently, It occured to me that multiple other staff members were ingame not taking reports either. So, naturally I said to myself "I've already taken enough reports so I should let the others take some". And after awhile, and some people complaining about lack of reports being resolved, proggy decided it was okay to just raid my base that had a small gap where they could shoot through, and destroy EVERY single printer I had. My reaction was a bit childish, considering I resigned because I felt nobody else was helping on the team and I was being bulled into picking up all the slack that nobody else would do. Not long after, I talked to a fellow member of the community from a nameclan known an ExG. I don't remember their name but they had a JFK profile picture. I was talking to them about the incident in direct messages on my original 2016 account (Since lost to 2FA) and he said "wanna see what proggy looks like?" and I said sure. So naturally after seeing how he looked I decided to take it a step further and direct message proggy, saying they looked like a discord moderator and attaching their face to them. Nothing was shared to anybody outside of the three parties. What followed was proggy proceeding to say "lol" after permanently banning me and disabling my forum account. Considering I spent money on this server, and really had done nothing wrong up until then, I hoped to appeal the ban which I see as overblown.

I would next like to expand more on my experience as a staff member in Garry’s Mod. Since starting in my first staff position back in late 2015, I have gained years of experience in server moderation and administration in both DarkRP and StarwarsRP. I have extensive knowledge of gmod staff commands, tools, and administrative mods such as ULX, Serverguard, & SAM. When it comes to the core duties of a staff member which is rule enforcement & handling reports, I believe that I am extremely qualified for these tasks. Over the course of my time in various staff positions I have dealt with likely thousands of situations ranging from simple failrp & rdm to more complex issues between players, staff, & even other servers. Additionally, I am well versed in all matters of staff and server management due to me having the privilege of leading 2 staff teams as well as being a Co-Owner in the past. Getting involved in arguments or controversy with other players is not something I'm interested in and I avoid drama like the plague. When it comes to how I conduct myself as a staff member, I take great pride in acting professionally and with tact. I have always been a by-the-book staff member that will enforce the rules as written and will not insert any personal bias or opinion in my judgments. Furthermore, I have an extremely dim view of staff abuse and will never use powers in any inappropriate manner. +1 a lot of stuff I say in private would get me on a watchlist(joking) , so it would definitely be best if they were not logged . Although a counterpoint would be in cases of harassment it would be easier to access older messages that have been cleared out of the chat. It would also tie the steam id to the person that sent the message so there are no issues of impersonation.

Haven't interacted with you in-game I don't believe but I have seen you on a lot lately. While I can't speak for my personal experiences I will commend you for your application, at least. Your app is very well written and detailed, you do meet all requirements and your previous staff experience is both lengthy and wide. I've never heard anything negative about you from anyone in-game or ever seen you break rules, so with that I see no reason to not give you my support. Good luck! +1

Yeah, I kind of agree, I don’t think staff should be able to see PM logs. I think you pointed out good reasons. I don’t really see a big positive from it , the only reason I could see it being a good thing is that catching someone saying that they want to dox the server / harm the server. But i don’t think something like that will be seen often. +1

+1 This dude didn't even give me time to give him my referral. He is actually a really good friend of mine and totally not bias here but he is an excellent person and has been and will always continue to be an excellent staff member. I had actually planned on giving him my referral today but he posted his app before I could. Anyways everything he said above is completely true. His vast knowledge of being a staff member on countless server will be a great asset to this team. While he isn't very sociable (likes to be to himself) with others he does try his best to interact with others. I actually owned the server he talked about in his past staff experience and trusted him with the rank I gave him and he didn't disappoint me in any way. If you were to give him a chance and pass him on to the interview trust me in saying that you will not be disappointed. His past experience on darkRP alone should be enough to get him in. From what I looked at it is pretty evident what you were doing, you hit 14 shots in 1 second with the most inaccurate weapon the ares strike (LMG). Such as the players & staff did, I tried to replicate the base and reenact what I saw and there is no way you knew when he was coming out and you killed wagon milliseconds after you killed metro without missing a shot it doesn't add up. you were also banned from another Garry's mod server for hacking (aimbot). Plus you sent injection files to @ioms. Another thing to note is you were not pressed about getting banned saying and I quote <13:27:32> "Frogggy": ight peace ill be back in a few years when bans reset. which isn't concrete but shows that you knew if there was going to be a ban wipe you would just come back not caring you got banned for hacking you also waited 5 years to make another appeal seems ironic since no one from that time is around anymore to provide proof. That’s literally how a manager acts. Remember when proggy raided someone because they weren’t taking sits and everyone thought it was funny instead of saying proggy is an a-hole? You of all people should have been able to see what happens when staff abuse goes unattended. Dude should have just bailed him and asked questions. Lest others start checking in on prisoners the same way too. But you calling glorb an a-hole is just you being smooth brain. Glorb literally hasn’t changed since manager, if you actually knew him you’d know he’s always been a good staff manager even before he was manager. That’s literally why he got the position. Notice him calling raid at 0:07 in the video. Imagine Wagons drops me the money, I collect, and check to see if frogggy's there. I see him at 0:018. Why would he sit there for 11 seconds? You can see as soon as imagine looks to his left, Frogggy starts walking towards the fast door because he knows that Imagine Wagons is about to open the fast door.

Acting like this in TS while you have an appeal up is not going to help your case, homie. I would expect any of our staff to be a snitch when they have knowledge and evidence of someone hacking.

Listen as of right now with just a video of him hitting a flick shot... I don't see their being enough evidence to assume he is hacking. If you could post more of those videos @proggy that would be great. Until then, my verdict on this is going to have to be a +1 THIS MAY CHANGE DUE TO FURTHER EVIDENCE!

The video isn’t sufficient enough even though it does seem odd he hit all those shots, He was technically let in by the person on the Cj job And was standing in front of you when shooting, also the second video it’s a little blurry but I think I counted 12 shots which would match the the “hacking” video. Although with that being said, I’ve hacked before and I honestly do believe from personal experiences with this guy locking on to me that he is hacking.

I have several videos from different people of sketchy clips of you, I'll admit that since our spectate system is ass, and no clips can be gathered from your first person view so nothing can look concrete from that. However then someone gives me a screenshot of you giving them hacks, which hex already supplied. You are banned from other servers for hacking (servers that probably have better spectating/anti-cheat systems than us). Then once you were banned you say <13:27:32> "Frogggy": ight peace ill be back in a few years when bans reset. The above statement sounds pretty guilty if you ask me. By the way garnet said there most likely wont be another ban wipe. Here's just one of the clips and i'll supply the damage log that goes along with it. Some things to note. 1) You walk up to the quick door the same time his guest is leaving. 2) You kill OG Imagine Wagons alarmingly quick, I get he must have been low health to die in one shot, but it is sketch how you flick to him. 3) You hit every shot with an extremely inaccurate weapon, in-fact you hit more shots than possible in a second. In 1:25:36 on logs you hit 12 ares shots on a moving target. After testing, I could only hit 11 shots in a second with the ares standing right next to my still target. We still need to see a video or some sort of evidence to truly know if he was hacking or not. I mean come on guys it should be innocent until proven guilty. We aren't fucking animals are we?

Well, for one I don’t think he was hacking I haven’t been on and I haven’t seen proof or anything but I know what hacking looks like I’ve done it on other games before. But it is insane when you do something insane like do 20 360s with a no scope and get a headshot, it’s not hacking just skill or on accidental awesomeness. Most of the time if someone appeals a ban for hacking they either aren’t hacking or they regretted hacking and think they might not have any proof. Proggy, Ioms, Evity If you got any proof i’d Love to see it. Also was their an actual sit called?? Or did proggy see him move his mouse around quickly shooting and think he was hacking so he banned him?? if I’m wrong about ANYTHING please let me know

This is a bozo reason, it's a Garry's Mod server not a SCIF. (Wait until he finds out that I can see forums PMs and PMs from the server console) This is active on 90% of all GMod Servers as the logs we use are arguably the most common logging system now, so stop acting like this is something Garnet made a conscious decision to do, since it is stock out of the box. However, this was already on the Trello by @Merk (since the 21st of February). Completed and Implemented.
