ahhhh DJ rule #1..?

neutral i don’t doubt your staffing abilities, but from what i seen on the forums when people are harassing or toxic to you leaves me concerned. Your getting powers and abilities and im simply concerned if someone pushes you too far that your gonna use them in a abusive way. i would like to know how you intend on controlling yourself, steps you will/have taken to not let people push you that far.

There have been multiple instances where I don't see sits being taken for a long time, despite there being staff online. Maturity is another important trait that I have, as it enables me to approach sits with a level headed perspective, exclude any forms of bias, and handle sits calmly and responsibly. Now I completely understand that these bans are raising up red flags, however these bans are nearly 4 years old. As others have mentioned if you are accepted onto the team, your tit for tat attitude towards toxicity and harassment needs to stop. The manager at your local Walmart doesn't want to hear complaints that their electronics guy is calling customers idiots, nor would I want to hear you getting into spats with the playerbase. That being said since I'm already referring you, you kind of know where I stand. Just try to be a bit friendlier and calm. +1

I've always considered it automatically implied that the radio was included in this rule, but as with many things on darkrp, people seem to need everything specified.. So that can be done then. Additionally, as far as mods "blowing up the radios" to solve the problem, I think we can drop the job-ban command down to Admin or Trial Admin and use that to combat these issues. TL;DR - Accepted? Kinda?

I graduated college in 2014, and mostly thought the same thing to your points. I'm 32 now, I've been married for 7 years. Life doesn't really "get" in the way of anything, that just is life. I've played on gaming communities for probably 20 years now starting on CS 1.6, and still kick it in Gmod, or still occasionally CSS. Gaming has just been a past time for me when I've got nothing else going on, it's my way to relax after work. The whole reason I started to play Gmod more frequently in the last 2 years I've been on GG is because it's a gaming forum and community. I will say, that many of you don't know how good you have it to have a dedicated gaming community to play on. These communities were everywhere in the 00's and started to die off more in the mid 2010's, and are more rare it seems in the 2020s. For those who play the servers, and frequent the forums, you are all a part of a gaming tradition that is slowly being lost due to the change of gaming as a whole, and time itself. There's that line from The Office where Andy says "I wish there was a way to know you're in the good old days, before you've actually left them". And as probably fucking cringe it is for me to say that, I certainly think of the good old days playing on the PF and HG servers in CSS in the early 2010s that I've dumped thousands of hours into. There is going to come a day this website, and the servers shut down. So soak in the time that you can play on these communities while you can.

Schyzo my man, been waiting to see when this post would go up haha. Obviously I've interacted with you a lot, based a lot with you and had a lot of time to get to know parts about you. Think it goes without saying that I'm in full support of you. Your paragraphs are pretty good, your overall hours are lengthy and you've made a good repertoire with many folks in the community. You're always eager to help others and while of course you have a previous ban history, it's been nearly 4 years since those happened and in all the time I've known you, you have been nothing but respectful and upstanding. Confirming my referral here. I just want to say ever since I met schyzo I have had nothing but great interactions with him. He seems like a very chill individual and every time I see him on the server I enjoy every time I see him. He is fun to hang out with and overall a level headed individual. He has from what I seen tried to help new players and help them to understand the game and if they have any issues tries to help them resolve them. Yes he does have past ban history but it has been a long time in the past and he seems to have grown and stopped that past behavior. I just think with while it is discord moderation does have some experience he can bring to the table. Overall I feel he would be an excellent fit for the staff team. Ok so after looking over some of the comments from down below mine I am going to add something on to here I will not change my vote for now but I am thinking on changing it due to a comment I saw quoted here and something else I saw of which I will not mention due to the privacy of the person. You can not under any circumstances have the mentality of "Treat them how you have been treated" If they treat you badly and then you turn around and do the same thing to them it can have a bad outlook on not only you but the staff team as well. Have you ever heard of that old saying if you fight fire with fire all you are going to get is a bigger fire then you are going to get burned? The same thing goes for toxicity and harassment. IF you respond to that with your own toxicity and harassment it just makes both you and the person who started it look bad. If you just ignore it and move on then only the person who started it looks bad. Again I am hesitant here but depending of future comments from here will determine whether or not I change my vote. You have to start interacting better with the community and show you can have a level head when things go south if you don't then you are just giving the other person what they want which is attention and that is all they are looking for. If you don't give them the attention they are looking for then eventually it will go away. If you have an issue with a player then report it to upper staff with evidence of the toxicity and harassment and they will handle it. Again after I post this here I will be looking closely at future comments and see if I change my vote.

Description: DJ's should not be allowed to play ear rape/micspam content on radios or over the mic. It is annoying when I am trying to play actual music and some minge is using DJ to play a loud kid eating his microphone and moaning. There is a loophole that allows people to ear rape via radio due to rules not including radios under the micspam umbrella.Reasoning: It should be this way because DJ should be a fun role to play music and chill, not micspam.Additional Information: [Photos/Videos][/CODE]

+1 I'm not too familiar with your previous reputation on the server, however from what I've seen you've usually been great. Helping out new players and the like. You're previous experience is also a plus. I'd agree with Gunner, that "return the favor" mentality can no longer be a thing if you become staff. We deal with constant minging and toxicity, can't let that affect your judgement as staff. All in all, I see no reason you're undeserving of the Trial position.

-1 I have seen you engaging in semi toxic arguments on numerous occasions. I'd like to see more positive engagement with the community from you. If you do get accepted it would be cool to have you as a gamemaster.

Of course the rule would include the worst of audios such as moaning, any sort of distorted sounds, mouth noises that have no musical substance other then to annoy and tingle the ears. Loud audio in general obviously. However things that aren't just designed to annoy such as someone making a speech, or something that has an intellectual taste (or anything that ISN'T just designed to annoy or would only) wouldn't be included in the rule.

I agree that the rule should be changed to include the radio as well. I hate mic-spam and earrape in any form or fashion so this is an easy +1 from me.

this is gonna have to stop if ur gonna be staff member, if someone is being toxic to you in a sit, you mute and warn for diss in a sit, you don’t “return the favor” or treat them how they’re treating you” if someone is constantly harassing you , dont go back at them and report it to a admin + who can handle the harassment reports. theres a difference between being a regular user and a staff member. if you cant handle your emotions and its gonna spill out in ooc, its a bad look as a staff member.

I wouldn't be too scared to report someone for ear-raping with the radio. Despite the wording I don't see a reason to kowtow to a minge because he wants to be a rules lawyer. If it's unacceptable on mic it would be baffling to not also regulate the radios. As for your second suggestion, I do like the idea but I just hope someone wouldn't abuse that. So sick of minge DJs at this point. +1

Well the thing is, it specifically says mic. And somebody tried using radios to earrape today and got away with it. Paere could not moderate them. Also, allow staff to reserve the right to despawn/destroy radios or set job to citizen for minge DJ's using the radio wrongly.

Firstly, harassment and toxicity is against guidelines on all spectrums. Secondly, I wouldn't take it into my own hands as I can't take my own sit. I would report toxicity, or harassment and have another staff member handle it. Damn, I didn't know I couldn't be upset about something that goes against community guidelines.

Thats most likely one or two scenarios out of the many where i've came out on top. When people harass me or act like an asshole to me, I simply return them the favor. I live by the saying "Treat people like you want to be treated"

-1 I strongly agree with @IAreGunner, although you possess prior experience in DarkRP staffing I've seen your emotions get the best of you in-game which scares me because you are taking on a great responsibility when becoming staff. I've also seen you on the forums acting immature and dissing people two things that go against the staff rules and guidelines. If you get accepted into the staff team, I hope you can prove me wrong. Hi, everyone! I'm not sure if you've seen my name snooping around forums recently, but, if you don't know who I am, my name is Jared! I have been a part of the GarnetGaming community since August of 2016, right before I started my freshman year of high school! Quick synopsis of my time on GG: - I started playing my first stint of MRP near the fall of 2016, ended around the middle of 2017(?) It's honestly been so long I can't quite remember the exact timeframe. I was an active player mainly on the Marines during the days of CSCDesert with people such as Davidson, senorisgrig, Zach Jones, yokedPREDATOR, North, and many more that may pop into your heads. I first messed around playing SAS and had a blast with our dogshit base that Garnet would faint in disgust nowadays. (If you lot from SAS are still around somehow, hello!) - Afterwards I then came back for a short stint as an Army officer, had some fun with that, and was a part of MRP staff for a little while - I then moved over to DRP and eventually became staff - My last and most recent MRP run was in 2021 during the pandemic, became a part of AwesomeAidan's Green Beret, still love that group, lots of homies Why am I telling you guys this? Well...I'm graduating college in less than a month from now. I can't believe that I am still here on these forums after almost 8 years. Eight years of my life have gone by, and, in a weird way, this community reminds me of the journey I went through on a personal level in order to get to this point. Since the days of August 2016, I have graduated high school, got a girlfriend of over two years, lost my virginity, and now I am very close to earning my bachelor's degree in cybersecurity! I am truly a Garnet Gamer! Even though I may not know you, I just wanted to quickly say thank you. Thank you for everyone in this community who has impacted my life. You all have helped mold me into the man I am today...ready to conquer the world. I may not have become a general in MRP like I wanted to all those years ago, or a Super Admin, or a prominent figure in this community, but I have become a man ready to succeed...in REAL LIFE of course! My most prominent memories of growing up have been from playing with this community of leeches, cunts, and dickwads, and I wouldn't want it any other way. I really wish I could've played GMod with you guys consistently for 8 years, but the sad truth is that our personal lives are more important than a video game. As corny as it is to say, it genuinely hurts me that life got in the way. However, I think it is for the greater good. Could I come back and play? I doubt it. I have a woman to worry about now. I have myself to worry about now. Is roleplaying as an Army private who is being instructed by a 14 year old kid from California to go and capture an objective from the Taliban even important in my life anymore? Probably not. I am 22 years old. I am an "old" man for GG standards at this rate. Current members of GG, please enjoy these moments. You are at the peak of your lives, you just don't know it yet. Yes...you're playing a modded version of Half-Life 2 that got released as a fully-fledged standalone game in 2006, where you roleplay as a Star Wars character, or a military man, or some other stupid shit. But you don't need to think of it like that. DON'T think of it like that. Think of how many friendships you've made in this commmunity, and how much fun you've had. I have not had any bad interactions with you and you seem to be really active in the game and your intentions are pure. I think that with your past experience and your ability to be on at earlier times would benefit this team greatly. You’re a cool dude man. Would be great to see you on the staff team again, however I do want to point out a few things in your app that I think you need to work on, starting out with the first question “Why should we choose you over other applicants?” In your 2 paragraphs I would’ve liked to see you answer this question. You could definitely keep all of the things you said about how your enjoyment and experiences on the server after getting unbanned wanted to make you apply and help out again I think that’s dope, just try to go more in depth about what you can offer to the staff team and answering the question of WHY they should choose you. (Bullet points help a lot here) the other thing I wanted to point out was your bans, I’m no stranger to bans either but I think on a staff app if you have bans, you should try to elaborate on how you’ve grown to learn from your past bans. anyway that’s just my advice to ya, if ya give a fuck haha I don’t usually respond to things on forums but I thought I could give a few tips on applications maybe other people will check it out too. good luck man

I also think when you have that many printers that could supply that money in one withdrawal phase, your base is already nearly impossible to raid anyway? I mean I understand when your raiding someone, but its on you for not withdrawing before you transport. -1 easy solution: Withdraw your money, no need to baby the players

-1 Just to clarify, I have nothing against you, I don't even know you, this is purely based on your application. I only really liked the racing one, i somewhat liked the auction house one, but i think you're events are too open ended, we are clones, yet most of this has nothing to do with being a clone. I do like that they are creative and different, but maybe rephrasing some of the events, like instead of the clones rping as wealthy buyers in an auction, instead the CIS is crashing a hutts auction and the clones are sent there to retrieve and recover the missing auctioned off items. If you can rephrase these to make them have them fit into clone life rp, instead of having them completely adopt a new rp persona, I would like these event a lot more and would give you my support.

corrupt ass mod doodledoo and sts mo jarden caused issues with the wholeeeee server and then get me banned for 2 weeks then went on a alt to try to do a sit with a diff adamin but got a 1 year ban doodledoo should not be a mod i enjoy your servers dark rp and starwars rp but it seems on the dark rp if u have vip the admins take the side of the vip user always when me and 4-5 of my friends where jsut tryna have a good time but we all are getting called to sits jailed and banned??? love starswars rp so far great admins great players dark rp mostly great players mostly goood mods from what ive seen but holy shit doodledoo is one corrupt mf and needs to be dealt with ive only heard complaints about him so far
