  2. Suggestion: Swap the map to cscdesert until the current edit of Delta is finished. Reasoning: Garnet said if this suggestion garnered enough community support, it could be a reality. There is an edit of Delta currently being worked on that will keep the map at its core, but greatly reduce its size and style. I think that a swap to desert would serve a couple of benefits for us. One being the temporary boost in population and the second being a refreshing, OG, and fun swap to keep us entertained while we await the next Delta map. While desert isn’t a greatly designed map by any means, it has a number of charms. The small objective size, small bases, and short running distance to the OBJ make this one of the most arcadey maps in the server’s history. The small objectives allow for goofy gameplay, but given the openness of the map, snipers are a powerful tool. The small bases elevate player interactions and invite players to goof around more during peacetime. The short running distance keeps wars engaging, fast paced, and fun. I think that for our pop currently, the size, the appeal, and the design has the potential to benefit us greatly and serve as a solid map for us to wait on until the new edit is finished. Additional:

  3. After talking amongst staff about a possible ROE change it would be best to ask the community also. Current ROE : Ist: Do not shoot unless fired upon. Only applies outside of war. Does not apply if you're on someone else's claim. 2nd: You may shoot anyone with explosives in their hands. Proposed ROE: US KOS Taliban with a weapon out. Unless its on a claimed Area. AFG KOS any US outside of base and not in a claimed area. Quickswapping will be enforced. With the the current POP of the server I have noticed and also what others have noticed is that newer players leave the server during peacetime when nothing is happening. With the proposed ROE change it would bring more players to the Taliban cause they have more freedom of what they want to do but also give players on both sides reasons to leave the base. I made a list in our staff discord of what they would think of a possible ROE change. Pros: Tali numbers would go up substantially as they would get more freedom to do whatever they want unless its a claim/base. Players when they join they want to kill people once they figure out they have a gun. This would allow people to kill other people and have a sense of realism on both sides. It would give a purpose of patroling spots on the map and have the chance of being ambushed and a sense of an actual MilRP scenario. People can act like civilians on the map instead of switching to the civ class. Making sure there is no chances of raids and being able to prevent them from raiding DB's before they get into the base. Cons: People would get killed outside of base. Will be hectic in sits possibly but we use logs to figure out most situations. Obviously there are more pros as this is something I mentioned awhile ago to staff so there is bias here so I'm asking for your help on possible pros or cons that I haven't listed and how you guys think it would take affect.

  5. Well, this is it folks. (no I'm not leaving the community or stopping playing darkrp) I got to say, I never really thought this would happen for a long time, but after 2+ years of staffing I am getting tired, and balancing out college work as well is going to make fulfilling the duties I swore to complete as manager impossible. I'd like to have a stress-free summer before college begins, and honestly my physical health has taken a dramatic toll over the last few months due to a variety of things, including stress. Anyone who heard me on my "bad nights" can attest to that. Despite this though, it has been a honor and a privilege to manage our DarkRP team for over a year, and even moreso an honor to have been staff on Garnet Gaming for 2 years. I have already spent a while talking with proggy over this, and have transferred all my documents I have created to him for his use. Know I am not at all leaving the community by any means, and I'll still be around all the time. I'm just stepping down from a position where I am doing staff work. Like hell I'd leave this community, you guys mean the literal world to me. So again, i'm still gonna be around all the time, just not as a staff member but rather as a normal player. I wanted to shout out some important people throughout my journey of being staff here, while I may not mention all of them know most of you who I've kept in contact with are people that matter to me. Thank you so much for the opportunity to work with this team, and get to know a ton of amazing people who I've watched and help grow into better people. It's shocking how wholesome and great a DarkRP community can really be. I'll probably eventually return to staff at some point, but know I'll always be here for you, and for the team man. Thank you. Hello Garnet Gaming members, Following a bunch of messages in regards to the current situation, and although I prefer to handle things privately, in the effort of being transparent with you all, I figured it'd be best I make a proper thread to address our current situation, following the departure of Proggy, who held a management role within our community and was a long time member of our community. As of 8/10/2023, Proggy is no longer a part of our community or the overall management team. With that being said, just to clarify he is not banned or prohibited from re-joining our community and there is no bad blood. Proggy made the decision to depart from the community following a discussion about the state of our Rust community, and after 4 years of working together, I wish him nothing but the best in his future endeavors. He is a fantastic individual who knew how to make those around him feel at ease. Being that many people had asked me about the reason for having made the decision of cutting the ties with Proggy as a member of our Rust roster, the reason is performance and finances. Our Rust community is a very expensive endeavor, and Proggy got delegated the task of their management as of this year - that was meant to be his sole role within the community - and anything more was done at the discretion of his own due to loving our DarkRP server. For full transparency - our goal in mind was to reboot said Rust servers, bring them up to standard, and allow for the purchase of packages within our store, allowing proggy to receive 100% of the profits they generate. Unfortunately this was met with no success (not solely at a fault of his own, but many external factors) - and after months and months of pushing back deadlines of when we will shut down Rust, this past weekend was a boiling point as our Rust servers hit a bottom low and became a COMPLETE liability. Throughout the recent decline of the Rust Community, I reached out to Proggy to renegotiate his terms (to his favor) on several occasions as I felt they were not fair with how much time he insisted on putting into the server; as well as the fact I was not seeing Rust do well and was trying to find ways to provide him a livable wage, but unfortunately these attempts felt very one-sided on my end, and he would either decline or never following through with re-negotiations. To transparently discuss the loss amount, it is north of $20,000. With that being said, no plan was determined for opening another server within a new game to dive into in order to create supplemental income for Proggy at this time, and it didn't seem like something that was worth exploring at the very last moment for either sides of us due to the turmoil. In regards to Rust, as this was a revolving question as well and understandably so since we have hundreds of members there, i'm trying to determine who would be the most experienced person to be hired for the task of managing our Rust community with identical conditions as a one last try type of deal, before closing off Rust entirely. I have had a DOZEN private applications upon Proggy's departure, but unfortunately, and as cheesy as this may sound, i'm currently re-evaluating alot of responsibilities I do and do not want to hold - because besides holding a high degree of a financial responsibility over another individual, I feel like the type of bond I had with Proggy isn't at all replaceable, and things will not feel the same. There are some external factors to this that have made life immensely stressful, consisting of some topics I hadn't brought up publicly, like me and my partner's miscarriage, my recent hospital visits, and at this point of time, going through a drastic change is anything but welcome - but i'll have to figure it out as the owner of this community. Thank you for reading through and being understanding, I hope many of you will stick around to see the changes the community will be going through as we focus on growing the playerbase and focusing on a more player-centric and community involved attitude. Because for the time being, I'll be dousing myself in server-related tasks to do anything but have to think through this ongoing situation

Attention all members of our gaming community, We regret to inform you that we have recently been made aware that one of our players had been reported to allegedly have a history of child sex crimes and is a convicted sex felon. As a result, after many discussions amongst the management team, we have made the difficult decision to ban this player from our community. We want to make it clear that we do not condone any form of sexual misconduct or illegal behavior, especially when it involves minors. The safety of our community members, especially our younger members, is our top priority. As such, we determined the best course of action would be that user's removal from our online services. PLEASE NOTE: We urge all members to be cautious when creating contact with this individual. @Proggy has been made aware this alleged predator is creating contact with members of our community, claiming to be opening his own community now, which raised an enormous red flag on our radar. Moving forward, I urge all members to be cautious of others on the internet exhibiting concerning behavior, and PLEASE report any suspected behavior to us immediately. We are committed to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for all of our players. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation

  8. DarkRP Extended Base Locations This thread is an extension of rules for Building and Basing in DarkRP. This is intended to clarify where players are allowed to build. The cave base may be based in, just do not require people to swim while cracking keypads and do not make the enemy raiders have to defend themselves while swimming. The hidden waterfall base may be based in. Do not put your props flush against the false wall making it difficult to see the entrance. Your props may start a few feet behind the false wall. The owner of this gun-store may build in the alley next to it, up to the sidewalk, as pictured. Basing in this shack is allowed, even though there is no buyable door. Use a keypad & fading door. Basing at this location in the suburbs is allowed, as long as raiders don’t have to crack the keypad while on the ladder. The owner of the stripclub may build in this alleyway, and the grassy area. The truck-stop base owners may build up to the sidewalk/fence. This homeowner can build in their backyard, up to their fence. The owner of the doors on the left may build up to this fence, and may claim the alley behind the building to the right. The owner of this base may build up to the sidewalk/fences. Shipping containers may be based in with keypadded fading doors. The owner of this base may build up to the sidewalk and fence, claiming the alley that leads up to their doors. This entire building may be claimed by larger parties, as long as there is one entry to the entire building. The owners of this base may build up to the sidewalk/fence. The owners of this warehouse may build up to the sidewalk/fence. The balcony of this base may be built on by the home owner, up to the railing. This sewer entrance may be blocked off by the homeowners if they choose. This cannot be the only raidable entrance of the base due to crouching rules. The owners of this base may build on their roof up to the ceiling of the map, blocking it off from intruders. The owners of this base may build on this balcony up to the ceiling of the map, blocking it off from intruders. The owner of this base may build up to the sidewalk. Building a base in this dead-end tunnel is allowed. The owner of the base to the left may build in the alleyway to the right, as pictured. The owner of the church may build up to the line that is pictured here. They may not block off the alleyway to their neighbors base, and may not block off the basketball court. The owner of this base next to the basketball court may build up to the end of their alley.

  9. Holiday Map [Beginning 12/09/2022] Our server is making a return to Downtown Christmas! We had a great time here last year (with the exception of FPS) Christmas Tree [Beginning 12/13/2022] Collect 30 presents around the map and bring them to the Christmas tree for a daily reward until the end of the holiday season (January 1st) For all I care you can collect all 300 necessary presents in 1 day and simple place them over to the Christmas Tree once daily until the 1st. Some examples of the rewards that are to be obtained (starting from most to least common) x1 Snowman Head - limited time only (2022) x1 Santa Hat - limited time only (2022) x5000 Standard Points (non-transmittable due to people with alts) x1500 Premium Points ($1.5 is on the table daily) x100,000 DarkRP cash Snowman Boss [Beginning 12/15/2022] Fight him once hourly for a massive drop of presents For the sake of balancing and avoiding loot-hogging, a player can only pick up a present once every 5 seconds Snowman boss will one-shot a player hit by his projectiles Snowman boss has 15k HP (might be changed to 500x number of players online as we go) Mini Bosses [Beginning 12/15/2022] Similarly to the Snowman Boss, these NPCs will spawn throughout the map on intervals and drop few presents when defeated.

  10. Hello Garnet peeps, i'm making this thread to reach out and hopefully get your input on this new thingy I coderino'd last month, but entirely forgot about. So, with the way things currently are, we can go ahead and warn a player for being racist and move on with our days, then ban them if repeated - still allowing them to come back until a threshold is reached in which they are permanently banned; Welp, here's my new solution: Allow for 1 single warning as courtesy that applies to new players who may be coming from a more toxic community that allowed for this (unfortunately, most Gmod servers are still ran by children who call it "fReE sPeEcH") - however, once that first warning is given out, if a player violates the racism/homophobia rule, a high ranking staff member (Admin+) can utilize the command /voiceban, thus, taking a player's voice(mic) privileges and forcing them to type, until this voiceban is appealed. Of course, the player can choose to A) play on the server by typing - where EVERYTHING is logged, and a repeated offense would then be a ban B) appeal their voiceban on the forums, where they will have to defend their use of racial/homophobic slurs I would love to know if everybody would be onboard with this idea, because I currently have everything working, along with cross-server banning where if a player plays on their non-main server minging around, their actions can still affect them on their main server. We have seen this happen numerous times. Ty!

The Event turned out to be a shit show as everyone was killing each other Adverting Raid, Kidnapping etc etc,, the Event was not planned at all so everyone decided to take their own route and create fun for themselves. But it seems unfair that i was the only one picked out of the group to get in Trouble, This doesn't give me the right to run bare ppl over but to me just seems unfair. There isn't much to say about this situation at all BUT I Do believe I can help out the server in certain ways as I have Many hours on MRP. I'm willing to help partake in Events, Help Newer players out (Answering Questions or Overall Helping them Out Skillwise), Try my best on keeping players on the server (Creating Fun things to do for Newish Players) as this was always one of my main concerns (Keeping Players on the Server) . One negative thing that will bring this Appeal down is that I ALTed during the time i was Banned, I'm not going to try to hide that fact as it is fairly known that I did there wasn't really any reasoning why i did Alt other than i only really enjoyed Playing GG MRP atm.

I took a 2000 trip with my girlfriend around Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina). It's time to get the ball rolling with some DarkRP/Rust/MilitaryRP updates, including fixes to Omega, a new Rust server (revision to the existing ones that are dead). How have all of you been?

  14. I wish all you Garfield Gamers happy holidays; whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukah, or nothing at all! I hope you take this time to relax at home, with a break from everyday work or school. Our management team extends their warmest wishes for a joyful holiday season to all you players who have supported us over the years. This brings me onto 4 fucking phenomenal things to announce. StarwarsRP We have managed to have the server online for exactly 1 year today, I would love to have a big celebration, but realistically, everybody will be celebrating the holidays with their family - and I don't want anybody to feel obligated to sit infront of their monitors this holiday season, so I will reserve this huge celebration to a later date (early January). Our server is BY A HUGE margin the most content-filled server in the category, over-developed to even make me question if we should make our own stand-alone game in a different engine, with everything we've got going This trend will NOT slow down anytime soon, instead, our server will continue to get new items for our character customization system, more optimizations, and new features, such as MMO-style quests! DarkRP What can I say? we got rid of MANY problematic people who abused our community to no-end over the past few months - we have effectively been cleansing the server of bad individuals. For nearly 2 years, we had a server sitting at 128/128 (which is very impressive) however, atleast 40 of those would be just 5 individuals and their alts, destroying our server's economy and selling their in-game currency for Crypto/Venmo/PayPal cash. This tore into our community, and previous leaderships actively encouraged this behavior to continue, because that was their easiest way of demonstrating they did a good job at maintaining high numbers for our population - unfortunately while doing 0 to prevent this behavior from being exploited via selling this cash. Well, now that these individuals are banned, and our new server leadership consists of @Derpza and @Merk, I have found that it is far more fun to play with 60-90 GENUINELY active members who are doing things other than mass-printer farming within their base walls. Our server is one of the most stable servers in the category at this point in time, I am actively fixing exploits with the help of our managers, you can get on knowing there's 128 players online, and yet still get 300/300FPS . This server has been a staple of ours, and will be celebrating its 10th year anniversary in about 8 months! There is a potential DarkRP 2.0 server coming up sometimes soon, which will blow any other DarkRP server in the category out of the water, with an extreme amount of custom content if you want to know what it'll look like, join our StarwarsRP server to get an idea. (HINT: Character customization) MilitaryRP With the help of @Ozzy (who as it turns out will unfortunately be leaving our community to carry on with life next month), I have decided to bring the server back on its feet, with the most unique content that anybody has seen in the MilitaryRP category - genuinely. I am so thrilled to announce this significant leap forward; not only branching into the "Nutscript" gamemode and away from DarkRP, but also the sheer amount of content we will provide. This much-anticipated revamp of our old server is anticipated to have an open-beta shortly. We will no longer have 2 sides just fighting a glorified TDM match that spans 30 minutes, but we will also have civilians running around taking care of their everyday life, fishing, manufacturing drugs, delivering main, and many more tasks... This attempt would have not been possibly without @AlexConway who stepped in when I started feeling overwhelmed with Ozzy's inevitable departure, and started questioning whether the server should even be brought back. Conway has shown an INSANE commitment and visions for what the server should and could be, bringing a breath of fresh air to the team,leading me to.. (and I can't believe I'm writing this) Welcoming Our community's Second-in-Command, @AlexConway This little rodent has been on-and-off my best friend in the community for a few years, we have gone through more heartbreaks and periods of blocking eachother than even your parents - and it's hard to believe we're here . Just 8 months ago if you told me that Conway will one day be the second highest figure in this community, i'd tell you to lay off the pipe (and that I can't believe he's unbanned in the first place) but here we are today. Conway has been a member of our community for a VERY long time (I believe 7 years at this point) always showing an interest in growing the community as a whole, and expanding. Since rekindling our friendship last year, and after nearly a full year of his FULL dedication to StarwarsRP by heavy restructures and bringing it up a notch in terms of content/management/overall professionalism, I'm for once finding that I'm able to take a step back from my PC when needed, while resting assured that everything is in working order because Conway has it handled. Not only this, but no matter what time of the day it is, if I post "HEY GUYS, I NEED HELP" across the DarkRP, Military, and StarwarsRP discords, 9/10 Conway is the first one to message back saying "What do you need?" - even when he's at work. This has been the case since his return, and it's been SUCH A NICE CHANGE. Alex, your contributions have been on a complete different level from any previous leadership we've had, you spend the extra time training people to take positions as you see fit (rather than trying to assume full control of a given server) and this brand new approach has paid tons of dividends, as our SWRP and DRP servers have an incredibly friendly team of staff with minimal problems (as compared to the past) knowing they can reach out to myself and you for a second opinion as needed. In addition to this, using you for second opinions has always proved to be the right approach, as atleast in my scenario, you seem to know exactly how to tweak something I worked on to make it look that much nicer - (I assume this is because you're homosexual), but regardless, thank you for all the countless hours spent moving a UI 3 pixels over, just so it's "PERFECTLY ALIGNED". I'm looking forward to our future working on the community together (half homo), and hopefully soon, branching into FiveM . On some more personal news, pertaining to what I had written about Conway above, I finally have enough freedom from the server to where after 4 years and a pandemic, I will be returning back to college in this upcoming Summer semester to hopefully become a Physical Therapist (fingers crossed I get accepted). I also picked up a part-time job where I teach guitar some days of the week, which will be such a nice change, reclaiming my life after 10 years of nearly consistent 70-100 hours a week of staring at a PC screen, working on Garry's Mod and Rust servers.   18. Garfield Gamers, I wanted to take a second to let you all know that i'm planning on making some changes for the betterment of my mental health. As many of you know, I've been working tirelessly for almost two years to provide MULTIPLE weekly updates on our servers, and while I've received some incredibly kind and grateful feedback from many of you, unfortunately these have DRASTICALLY subsided as players had gotten used and feeling entitled to these unrealistic standards, and I've received an overwhelming amount of complaints and criticism, despite the fact that I work harder than any other server owner within Garry's Mod (WOULD LOVE TO BE PROVEN WRONG ON THAT NOTE). As a side note: We presently do not outsource work due to low standards, and our server update subforum has more content in a week than some other well-known communities receive in a full year. Despite this and regardless of my efforts to communicate with some of you all and let you know that the server is a work in progress, some players are still incredibly quick to yell and berate myself for things not being absolutely perfect from the get-go (let alone something as simple as restarting the server at inconvenient times to one of 50 players), and I feel like I've been spreading myself too thin trying to appease the community by releasing so many of these full-content updates and code-base maintenance for this 10 years old game. Adding insult to injury, it's become abundantly clear that between StarwarsRP and MilitaryRP (PRIMARILY MILITARYRP) our playerbase had become so incredibly tired and bored of the administrative team not completing their roles, that they rely on ME to carry the server through updates, while the teams are doing nearly nothing to facilitate roleplay and players to enjoy the community - because in the case of MilitaryRP, GMs are as good as useless, and the management team has no pushed for any notable changes in over a year - until recently with our new wave of Admins - which we are still waiting to see their full potential in management roles. This is not a position I wish to be in, it's far too much pressure, and I heavily weigh shutting things down at times. With all the negative being said, The changes coming moving forward should not be all that bad. As opposed to providing weekly or bi-weekly updates (biweekly as in once or twice a week), I will instead be providing monthly or bi-monthly updates (once every month or two), with a similar level of content to what you see in today's update. I hope that this will allow me to continue to improve the community while also taking a step back to ensure that I do not get more and more bitter to the point of nearly giving up the community, due to a severe lack of appreciation. Thank you for your understanding, and I look forward to continuing to work with you all in the future. I apologize if this post came out of the blue. Vehicles A spawner for vehicles has been added to each respective base, being that this map is TINY and may lead to FPS degregations, I maay choose to severely limit the spawnrate of vehicles at a later time Duel System Reinstated for our new map Foxtrot, including the Bunker and Killhouse arenas! A duel NPC has been spawned in each respective faction's base, and the code for Duels has been modified somewhat to disallow on-going arenas from being used for a period of 60 seconds from the last duel's completion. Class Changes The Notorious Goat Spawnpoints set for this class Taliban Army : Sharpshooter corrected slot count to 4 Weapon Changes Defibrilators Given the Defib weapon a total of 3 uses Once the 3 uses are up, the defibrillator will drop to the ground Additionally, a 20 second cooldown between defib attempts has been added RPK-74 Extended magazine size has been turned up to 60 from 45 Missions System Last seen active on the server in 2021, despite being a very effective solution for downtime on the server. Current mission modes include Kidnapping, Raids, Intel raiding, Base Maintanence (Cleanups), and Assassinations. As time goes on, i'd love to correct any issues that may or may not be present, as I know the system isn't perfect. but I feel strongly that I could patch any bugs associated with it! Also, raids are to be called directly from the missions NPC moving forward! Example of Intel raid: Miscellaneous & Bugs Anti Headglitching Rewrote the addon that I last worked on in 2021 to fix headglitching on Omega, hopefully the new iteration is more robust and works more effectively The Crouch Jumping Catalyst After almost a decade of dumb rules to prevent a default, yet broken Garry's Mod mechanic, I have decided to give it a unique solution. Players who are crouch jumping will have their playermodel's hitbox grow in size to encompass a larger area, allowing for players to be hit, no matter how large an attempt is made to break their playermodels Vehicle Driver/Passenger Behavior Players inside of vehicles will no longer take damage from gunshots, however, explosive damage from grenades and RPGs are doubled, meaning, an indirect rocket hit that'd do 60 damage, will now deal 120 damage to all those in the vehicle Prone Mod Removed for an 18th time Spawn Protection Re-enabled for a 13th map revision HUD Attempted to fix issue under whcih some players' names would not draw on your screen Recruit Spawn Your 1st annual "Boost Taliban" day starts today, all recruits will begin spawning in as AFG Recruits as opposed to spawning in spawn room

  19. Description: [description of what you are suggesting, one paragraph minimum] This suggestion details the staff control over faction leadership. After discussing with various members on the Afghan side, we believe that it would be good to relinquish the executive restraints over leader-based decisions. For some changes, the Marshals/Generals would take over in place of executives, bestowing more power to entry leadership, whereas in other areas, the leaders of each respective faction will be able to have greater freedom of operations. It should be noted that much of what was suggested was already the case on server throughout 2016-2018(/19?) according to the players I have consulted. Essentially, we want to restore decision making to each respective side instead of relying on staff and executive decisions, which typically involve the opposing population making choices. Reasoning: [how would this benefit our server?] Our server previously was very chaotic at times without fully hands-on leadership from higher ups but the memories that people vividly remember or stick by are the tragic cases of terrible leadership at times. Instead, we should look past that and realize the immense amount of value that letting faction leaders have full control over the entire aspect of their factions can bring to the table. As always, factions belong to the server, and not to the leaders. While keeping this in mind, a certain level of autonomy is still required to provide greater room for success. With bestowing trust in each leader, there are heightened capabilities within each faction, as well as the partial elimination of a long known blatant double standard. Below are some changes that would come from this general idea: Changes - Reserves: Reserves are a very touchy case to discuss, however, as of now the current system is very flawed and a majority of the high ranking individuals and staff community tend to hold grudges and presume subjective opinions on people’s character instead of actually valuing what's supposed to be the true intentions of what this was made for in the first place. This system also gives huge benefits to friend groups because they can easily sway an opinion on newer members on the staff team and this has always been an issue with this system. The benefit of giving back the control to the faction leaders will immediately remove these issues and people will get an even more fair opportunity through this change. With this change, staff votes would be removed from reserves. This entails maintaining the current standard, in which a player must have been in a faction and attained an officer rank in order to hold a reserves position. The elimination of a staff vote as previously discussed may help reduce grudge holding behavior from opposing sides, such as through instances of war rage, witch hunting, and friend groups. Handpicking: While the expectations for T1 players and leadership has always included being in the top skill bracket of the server, these players are far and few between. Evidently, the standards of skill and faction readiness has changed over the past few years. Handpicking helps with this scarcity by allowing faction leaders to bring in potential prospects and training them up without forcing them to attend a few dozen tryouts. While it is true that players should be attending T1 tryouts many times before joining the faction, the current state of the server has proven that filtering players into SOC factions is far more important. The skill group of these players is something that will naturally be developed over time as they play. Additionally, leaders/officers who want someone in are likely to throw or "ease" tryouts for them to begin with. This has led to many instances of infighting, rule wars, executives complaining about throwing incidents, and server-wide double standards. Myself and many others believe that it is better to just allow handpicking as a whole, while still monitoring friend group factions. Faction Leader Selection: Executives should only be selecting the next leader for a faction when absolutely necessary. While it could be argued that this is partially the case already, in reality, executives have consistently passed users up for either personal grudges, or general doubts. We believe that each faction leader should be able to select their next leader without any constraints upon resigning. This entails not having to consult executives on who the next leader should be. While some have previously argued that this could lead to poor leadership terms, the simple solution is for executives to not be lazy, and to wipe where necessary. Factions fluctuate, as do population and skill. It is important to give players a chance to have a healthy natural leadership ecosystem where players can feel like they are genuinely working towards something without having to worry about an executive's opinion on their character. Again, when necessary, if a leader is severely underperforming, leading an entirely friend-centric faction, or not playing, they are able to be removed. This is solely about placing the power of selecting who leads next back in the hands of faction leaders. Additionally, we believe that the GA/Marshal of each side should be able to maintain having a say in SOC leadership as they supposedly do at the moment. While this is the case currently, it is severely underutilized, likely due to the fact that the decision is ultimately up to the management team at the moment.

In addition to this, I have made the skybox far higher to accommodate helicopters. The Backrooms Bored during the server's downtime? Welcome to the chilling part of our new update that we know you're going to love...or fear. We're excited to announce the addition of the Backrooms to our MilitaryRP server. For those unfamiliar with the Backrooms, they are a creepy and unsettling liminal space that exists outside of our reality. This area of the map is filled with empty, yellow-walled rooms that seem to go on forever, and players who enter the Backrooms are haunted by bizarre and terrifying creatures that lurk in the darkness. Our selection of creatures will continue to grow if this proves to be a fun concept to the playerbase, and a scoreboard is currently being worked on! Sit Anywhere Script Updated to the custom version utilized in StarwarsRP! Dueling Arenas Made a return to the server Play against your friends to improve your weapon control, wage your money, or just shit on your foes!

It is with a heavy heart that I have to inform you guys of my indefinite absence from the community, It's been a blast to stick around for 8 years, but unfortunately all good things come to an end. Along with my medical conditions and horrible neck following my car accident, it's been more and more difficult to dedicate the 12+ hours a day into the community as I've been doing for the past few years, and it's time I passed down the torch. @Gildarts and I have spoke on numerous occasions over the past few years regarding him taking ownership of the community, and it looks like the day has come. I will likely still be around on the forums from time to time, and I will have to ultimately check-up on the community on a weekly basis to get on PayPal and take my 10% of earnings that Gildarts will be forwarding to me. I would @ many of you, but the list will be far too long, so instead, I will cut to the point and only @ the people who were actually important to me @hex_ taught me how to bhop, then taught me how to profile hoppy flavors within locally crafted IPAs @JPdude carried me utilizing aimware when my rank fell below Nova on CS:GO @Aceshowing me that no matter how young or old you are, as long as you have access to your mother's credit card, it's game over.

This has led to many crashes and unsatisfactory performance, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this situation has caused. On the contrary, we are happy to announce that we have acted proactively upon this situation and decided to switch to a new provider that is dedicated to providing a secure and stable gaming environment for you all. This change will greatly improve the overall quality of our servers and eliminate the issues that we have been facing for these past 3-4 days. Hello MilitaryRP players I think that due to my lack of constant reminders/teasers of the new Taiga map i've been working on, some of you forgot or came to an assumption that it is no longer under-works. Smitty suggested I do this and so here's that: an update on the new map PS bare in mind the screenshots will look far worse than the actual final product, as this is what's known as a "quick compile" or a development environment snapshot. It includes the lowest quality version of textures, lighting, and shadows. Town Everybody should be familiar with the center objective of town. It has been by far our most liked objective next to that one objective that got scrapped from Siberia If it ain't broke don't fix it, although I did chop down construction, and I will be adding additional buildings for cover! US Base This one is based off of many people's favorite base which was used heavily in 2017, except, it is much nore purposeful this time around. It includes a main hub building with an elevator to take you underground (WIP), respective faction rooms/debriefs, mass debrief, garage to spawn vehicles, a jail, a medical training facility which will be used in order to give players the medical certificate (similar to SWRP), and finally, an outdoor shooting range. US Outpost To be used during missions and special briefs Environment Various screenshots to showcase what the rest of the map will hopefully look like once completed Obstacle Course Apparently an integral part of every Garnet map or the leaders riot Commonly Asked Questions How long until the map is completed? unsure, depends on alot of variables and there's many servers I have to look after on a consistent basis. I have been getting a little annoyed with the backroom chats about the on goings and thought that someone should finally speak out rather than the constant talking behind the managers back as much as i disagree with the direction he is taking with the server i thought someone should at the very least make a point somewhere he could see it. The Staff team are not listened too with the manager suppressing there views and anytime he doesn't agree with a majority he just shoots it down telling them to "cope" and just deal with the fact its his way or no way. This is not a way to manage a server simply doing whatever you would prefer and not taking into account the views of the staff team or the community and supressing there views, there is basically no staff team or community input allowed at this point that is adverse to the managers views, its like the staff team exist to be sit bots, the players are there to do what they are told and the manager does what he likes the term manager isn't doesn't cover what this is, a better word would be dictator. Going forward he is looking to improve communications between the executives, staff and the wants of the community to insure that the server is moving in a direction that works for the many not the few. And to Properly seek out cheaters and make sure they are dealt with accordingly.

If this update post seems all over the place, I had to stay up well past what i'm used to in order to finalize it, @bizzylogin spent HOURS on this shit, and for the most part, there was still the loud minority that was rude about the fact there were some errors along the way, but such is MRP. I assume most of you will scroll right past this, but I figured it's worth saying that there's no bigger buzzkill than me commissioning Bizzy for hundreds of dollars worth of jobs, a ton of my own and his time, just for people to react like... IE: the very first message after the update was posted And while alot of people were super kind and understanding, knowing we're testing things, letting me know of any issues, there is just a hugely unnecessary level of hostility from MRP, that had drove me so far away from the community, that I struggle to even want to any of the "Weapon Rebalancing" or map development sessions the server's been calling for. War System Sidenote: I increased the cap size of factory and made it more centralized *NEW* Conquest *NEW* A hybrid between Objectives and Team Death Match Likely getting renamed to Domination because apparently this is domination? At the star of war, 2-3 random objectives will be selected to be played! While holding an objective, on each tick, your country's score will go up by 1 for every member holding said objective. Your score tally may be interupted by a member of the opposing faction standing on the objective, causing it to "LOCK" or "NEUTRALIZE" until they are killed. At the end of war, the team with the largest score wins (similarly to TDM) Search and Destroy FIXED AT LAST - but delayed another day due to not being so fixed after all The prior version was entirely broken, and unfortunately Time has other responsibilities and could not attend to fixing the mode, but thankfully, Bizzy stepped up to re-creating its rounds functionality from the ground up, and it appears to have no known issues!   30. Description: I am suggesting a 3rd gang to be added to DarkRP. You would be able to enter this gang at a higher level (~15) rather than level 1 of bloodz and crips. There would be two named characters as leaders, both being VIP raiding classes. This gang would also come with lockpick and keypad cracker, and overall have more models/classes to choose from. This gang would be modeled after the Grove Street Families, meaning the CJ class would be included here too. There are additional models included in the pack that could be used for other purposes. Reasoning: Gang roleplay on the server is kind of rare since thief outclasses the gangs at the same level. Adding this would get more seasoned VIP raiders to engage with newer players, and as a result bring more gang activity to the server as a whole. Going to keep it simple, I've been extremely busy recently to the point I can't really get on the server or even discord that much anymore which has resulted in a mess as the leadership team relied on my contact to tell them what to do so I've pushed them to start leading themself which I hope to see if I do return. I've decided to resign completely from the community with the possibility of returning if I become less busy and want to but that is looking unlikely. It's been great from first joining 8 years ago being staff multiple times throughout that time and obviously this time where I've been able to climb the ranks to the top. (include any proof): Earlier in the day i was reported after being damaged by an explosive (milkor) and killing the person who had killed me. I was reported for RDM and provided proof for the incident, following up 3 hours or so later i was brought in a sit randomly about a "management decision" which was either I compensate the player for "killing him" which was proven otherwise with the clip i provided, or I would be banned or demoted. Not only was i shocked to see this but I had done nothing wrong in the sense that the player damaged me and i killed him with a "valuable item" https://streamable.com/1s8xw0 clip of the incident. the message i was welcomed with while being brought to the roof. Again the only "proof" the player has was his advert which i assume had 0 time frame, would never hold up in a regular report. What i found the most odd, almost clear bias trying to side with the player who was in the wrong WITH evidence. Again a baffling response, that i should've let him damage me because of my money/rank? Even with "escaping" the punishment that should've never been a question, I was told off. This post is not made for a space for arguing but to just show my side of this incident that I felt was completely wrong. Never in my years of playing the server have i been treated this way, I have gained a mostly positive reputation and never been banned, warned, jailed or punished of any extent so to be treated like this especially by the higher-ups of the server, I was kept in a sit for maybe a little over 30 minutes for a issue that only has value because the player lost his milkor. I was told to give a longer clip which I did not have (again im the only one who provided any proof for the sit) aside from a screenshot of an advert which almost proves completely nothing especially when he was using a 6 shot GL in a heavily populated area which was next to a zombie event i was participating in. I was told that in the clip i was purposely running into his explosives which have a large radius regardless which makes literally makes no sense without any context of the clip (still considering i was the only one who had provided a clip.) Bottom line to get treated like this is new to me which makes me worried for other players who run into issues similar.

  35. I Description After recently talking to Garnet about the future of MRP, there were a few interesting ideas that I gathered from our conversation. I made a point of noting how easily accessible and constantly changing FPS games are hard to compete with given how old Garry's Mod is. At this point in time I think anyone can agree that RP is scarce and forced attempts to generate it is the virtual equivalent of a nursing home. Any vet will tell you that the best RP comes naturally and in the past, its not something people "focused" on creating. It was just something people did. The reality is that we are playing an old game in a sea of modern FPS games with a lot more to offer. I think we need to take some serious steps towards changing how our server works fundamentally in order to adapt and engage a population of players that have a world of other FPS options to play. What's that look like? 1.1 Weapons Remove all class loadouts from the server. Categorize all available guns in the server into "eastern" and "western" categories. Each regional gun is unlockable by anyone on their respective nation as well as the attachments for them. Similar to battlefield. Factions would still exist. Instead of having 1 million guns on your hotbar, an idea would be: All players restricted to 1 primary and 1 secondary. VIPs such as Titan could be able to carry an extra primary. In regards to your VIP classes, I assume they would still exist in some capacity and have a selection of their own exclusive weaponry. 1.2 Peacetime Get rid of empty peacetime and implement this: The deny reason for this post is a lie and also the same trash MRP players have been eating for years. The GM events will never get better. The players will never want to RP more. Allow guns to be shot during all times of playing on the server, while keeping war, and I promise the server will see more RP naturally develop than it has in years. While IFN died and is no longer around, it did some things right. Pockle outlines it all in his suggestion and I think this suggestion is one of the healthiest proposals for change to server dynamics that we have had in a very long time. 1.3 Snipers and Balancing Adjust various weapons alongside the loadout system overhaul. There are various weapons all around the server that could definitely use some adjustment to adapt to a more streamlined loadout system. I know a few players (including myself) who would be willing to sit down and spend whatever amount of time it takes to create a state of weapon balancing that only slightly adjusts in future updates. I guess all I'm looking for to actually do this is a go-ahead that it won't be wasted effort. For example, some ideas: Remove movement and delay penalties from all snipers. All snipers no longer one shot. Spread reduction around the board. 1.4 Pilot Jobs for Entry Add a pilot job to both US Army and Taliban. Add respective NPCs for each side for spawning an aircraft. Implement togglable parachutes for all players. Before I get started here: No, we should not give a pilot job to every faction. No, we should not make it another T1 faction like it was before. Yes, we should make the pilot job most easily accessible by senior entry players. US Army : Pilot Loadout: Only given access to sidearm selection. Taliban Army : Pilot Loadout: Only given access to the sidearm selection. 1.5 Trello Cleanup Currently, the trello is extremely backed up. This is not a result of our owner neglecting to do updates, but rather the result of a single dev managing a server trello for years on end. It happens. Personally, clutter kills me and if this suggestion is accepted, I think we should pretty much wipe the entire slate and restructure it to focus on this overhaul. Aside from game breaking bugs and recently accepted suggestions, we cut our losses that are the ideas generated and stacked from forever ago, and make simple clear-cut trello cards to focus on a server revamp. 1.6 Removing Money Wipe the entire economy from the server. I don't really see a place for money existing on the server and instead, I think everything should just be unlockable via experience. Attachments, cars, guns, weapon skins, utility, etc would all be earned by leveling. For example, if we transition to the previously suggested loadout system, players can unlock a 'car slot' when they hit x prestige. I think this alternative would be infinitely more straightforward than grinding 800k through word scrambles or creating more uses for money. Alongside this, ways to earn XP should be expanded upon with systems such as achievements (I would love to make those). Alternative: Remove XP and have everything be money focused. (Personally I like this more) X Conclusion This suggestion is composed of random ideas that I thought of when asking myself how the server could better match other FPS games on the market. I think that RP will still exist and happen when it wants to on a server that replicates a milsim like Squad or Battlefield. However, I do not think that we can continue to treat MRP like we can revive the environment that existed 7 years ago. I think its time to full on change heavy fundamentals about the server. For more context, there has been a few ideas floating around on what can be done about the current environment of MRP. Some of those include a rogue-like inventory system and RP operations that focus on the outcomes of war. While these ideas could synergize with what I am suggesting, I think that those ideas alone will not be enough to freshen up MRP. Our main focus should be on streamlining MRP into a server with constant action and worrying about those systems when the baseline experience on the server is enjoyable. What am I looking for from this suggestion? Mainly for it to garner support and then Garnet takes a look and we start taking steps in that direction with people who are passionate about it. Again, I can name a few people who would be very interested in being super involved in something like this and I would love to spearhead it. As someone who has been around for years, I care about the server and I honestly think the best thing for it is to modernize into something a lot more stimulating.

I had alot of positive feedback in regards to appearance, and some less than positive feedback about it being a "sniper fest" after 1 single war with 30 players, so I don't know what to make of either. To turn off visual saturation, head over to: Options > Video > Advanced > High Dynamic Range > None This should also tremendously boost your FPS! Dueling System Completely overhauled Bizzy has updated our Duel system (essentially re-writing it from scratch) as to accommodate up to a 5v5 duel, and as such, I have designed duel arenas to accommodate such populations! Duel NPCs are located nearby to soldier spawnpoints, respectively in US/AFG's bases Once opened, you will be welcomed with a selection of Dueling population 3 mode are currently available, with the possibility of more to come depending on suggestions of what players would like to see! You will be able to preview your arena of choice, however, there is only one ares for each kind, and it will be under cooldown following usage!   40. Well to start off, I think I would a good fit for this position considering I’m the current staff manager out of default. I’ve helped garnet with countless updates even if it’s just suggesting things or tweaking things to the players needs. along with that I’d consider my knowledge of rust above a lot of players because I’ve played on the most popular servers and of course garnet servers for my around 2,000 hours on rust, I know what can get servers moving pop wise and most importantly how to manage a staff team. I’m very familiar with rcon because I also have manager perms there so catching things like cheaters and staff abusers, dealing with promotions and giving out access to rcon so it’s one less thing for proggy to do. Going through messages with garnet I told him that rust is a difficult thing because a lot of people who play this game are either 13-16 year olds that have a racism issue or degenerates with a job, pop is a tough issue sometimes because during the weekdays the servers are hard to grow lots of people are busy with school or prior obligations. Making a good schedule for the servers like wipes could genuinely help server pop in my eyes having knowledge from the most popular servers schedules. Although that’s a different topic all I’m getting at is that I could help the servers maintain a good amount of pop while also making garnet some cash on better kits

Roughly 4 hours later, I get a 15 minute clip of you and your buddy West, doing the following: 1) Mass NLR breaking as to get into somebody's base - you used your buddy West as the scapegoat CLAIMING YOURSELF "my buddy is malicious, not me" as you're taking part in everything he is doing throughout the 15 minutes clip. 2) Said the following phrase to a gay member of our server "You're gay? that's going to be a problem here" 3) Accused entirely innocent people of being racist, despite the fact you REPEATEDLY said 'nigga' every so few words, and made plays on words like "negative" accusing people of saying "niggativ" 3) Your buddy West that you are breaking all these rules with was playing alongside to you writing awful things IE: "I take it in the ass" as well as "im a fag and proud" 4) You did not advertise raid, regardless of the NLR, and stole from other players' printers who you were raiding, evidently because you're young, ignorant, and homophobic. For those reasons I'm going to be denying your appeal, I do not wish to see you back on this server as you do not strike me as a person who will be a positive member in our community at this time, but rather somebody who will continually harrass other and cause issue.   48. Echo Version 2 Beta is almost completed and ready for live testing on the server! While I am excited to be able to provide the server with a fresh new map to play on, I will warn, this is the unfortunate case of "I was rushed into" releasing an unfinished product due to the pressures of MRP players always whining about a map change, and as of recent, seemingly anytime I restart the server players theorize an upcoming map change, and it's made its way to DRP/SWRP where I can't get a break from hearing about changing the MRP map. Now to introduce, Garnet MRP Echo V2 [LIVE SERVER BETA TESTING VERSION] RP_GARNETMRP_ECHO_V2_BETA - Featuring requested changes such as map optimization, HDR removal, Grass (as opposed to snow) and the return of underground locations. PS. HDR is there for the screenshots of the map (the light, highly saturated/glowing lights), as pretty as it is, that feature is likely getting removed seeing as it causes some models to glow - pretty game breaking for PVP when you're a super easy white glowing target. I'm currently hunting a solution I genuinely love how parts of the map in the directions of the sun pop, while others seem grim using HDR. Not only that, but the map was re-designed with HDR in-mind, so it may not look nearly as good without it. Inventory System THE LATE-GAME CONTENT WE'VE WAITED 6 YEARS FOR Probably our biggest gameplay dynamics change ever This is going to be a huge new innovation and move into MRP, giving content to long-term players Depending on how far @bizzylogin is willing to take this system, players will be able to obtain supply drops as well as materials through other means, IE: farming trees around the map, mining ores (Yes, we are now a Minecraft server) in order to craft weapons, attachments, and drugs - amongst a list of other things. Players will be able to break down their existing weapons for materials which would then be able to be used to attempt and craft more powerful weapons, and POTENTIALLY the occasional skinned weapon without having to donate. With all this cool news being broken down, mind you, this will be a very long project that I will work on in occasions, and me and Bizzy would also be dependent on eachother's communications.
